Lets just face it.. Making the game "harder" changes NOTHING!
Increase NPC attack speed, empathy and SS gets a boost.
Increase NPC energy gain, changes nothing.
Increase NPC damage, soul twisting rit and ER bonders become the metagame along with PI as staple on every human bar.
Increase NPC HP, just slows it down, changes nothing.
Increase amount of mobs, higher AoE focus.
If you really want to make the game harder it's not that hard, instead of doing the groups 1 by 1 you start chaining them. You start beeing on the move all the time and before one group is dead you start the next.
Or as I said earlier you have DoA \ UW in NM and HM with heroes, or for that sake ToPK HM. Just stop beeing a chicken and challenge yourself!

When you die.. your character is permanently dead and can never be resurrected. All you can do is delete and recreate the character and go again.

OP sounds like troll bait all the way. For starters how about Elite Mode instead of ultimate hard mode. I would support it if it didnt give any more titles, all the professions were balanced and it offered new skins and rare loot. Otherwise...

just try with starter armor and weapons, then without any kind of upgrade (rune,insignia and weapon upgrades) no pvx, no elite skills and just hench, then try NM, and once NM is hard(if it still isnt, just go on with trying the impossible), you keep on trying until its too easy, then go same on HM and do all dungeons and vqs with the same, so no heroes (as for NF, just take the hero which is required for the missions, and give em the same build as the same prof hench has)
i hope people realize that when they(Anet) nerf stuff or make the game all harder, that it'll hurt the whole community, and people leave once again, and that way they can get much more money
face it, the game is all about fun now, and i'm very happy with it, you also can make your own challenges, so nothing can be too easy if you dont want it to be easy
please reconsider and try stuff that will make you happier than make changes to the game which hurts Anet's wallets and the community (and probably the people joining GW2... or NOT joining cuz of these weird ideas)

i just dont get why people want Anet to make the game harder for everyone, only cuz some people are bored cuz they done everything (which is probably the reason why they want the game harder... cuz those people have done everything by now)
so many options they gave us, yet some dont like it and want to change the game so much o_O
ps. think about why anet does it this way, and gave us more like zaishen vq, embark and 7 hero teams, its cuz most people want it, instead of having a harder game

It should be a mode where you CANNOT bring heroes at all. If you did, the chances of survival is low.
Here is the mode-
-All melee foes can removes Enchantment by attacking. But by removing the enchantment this way blocks the attack. (This makes protter useless.)
-All melee foes can do triple damage.
-All nuker foes can do double damage
-Armor bonus is capped completely at 50 armor.
-All foes will have extra health and extra armor.
-Foes ranged attacks(Bow and spear) will cause dazed and blind.
-All characters will do half damage in AoE.
Protters(Using the skill protective spirit) will no longer be a damage mitigation.
Offensive mitigation, such as cripple, and blindness will be very useful.
You can no longer stand around pressing 1-1-1-1 till the enemy dies.
Due to triple damage, Defy Pain tankers will be useless.

Just improve the AI. Anything in HM can kill an unprotected player less than 5 s. It is absurd for us to even beat anything HM in the first place.
Improve their positioning (it is wtfomfgsofking bad atm- give them more space and movement) and field awareness, skill usage priority, rupt priority, switching target, kiting (hah beat that) and rounding up players. And if they cannot win, just do what players do: retreat.

Hell, it would be ok if they buffed everything slightly. The problem was that instead of buffing 100% of the skills by 10-15% they went and buffed 5% of the skills by 100-200%. So winning HM is as easy as taking the skills that turn it back into easy mode instead of really requiring a balanced build.

The problem isn't the heroes, its the pve/pvp split. I'd rather a mode where we use the pvp version of skills + no pve only skills/cons.
