Well this is easy. Last week my account got stolen (which I got back today with a sobful feeling). Due to that I lost few valuable items, such as Draconic aegis and that sodding idiot salvaged my vabbian and obsidian armor. Fortunately he left behind the salvaged ectos. Also lost in total about 4 elite armors.

I didn't play that character for over a year after that -- instead got the survivor title on another character.
2nd attempt (approx. 530,000 exp): killed by Hajkor, Mystic Flame in The Sulfurous Wastes while skill-capping (on a double-exp skill capping weekend). I'd pinned my h/h way beyond my aggro bubble, but Hajkor's mob wiped my party within seconds then came straight for my character.
3rd attempt (approx 830,000 exp): killed by the Annihilator while in last Year's April Fools pre-seering quest.

Hm... I can't remember any really bad thing happening to me while playing, nor losing a drop after zoning, nor getting scammed. Nothing like that.
They only bad things I can't think of is when I learned that GW will probably never have a proper trade system, or the inscription system not being applied to the whole game as it should.

I remember getting scammed when I first started playing the game, since I didn't understand what a weapon being customised for someone meant (this was before the days of all the warnings and such).

About 650k into my legendary survivor title, I decided to do the Zaishen bounty on Korshek the Immolated. Normal mode, not hard. Hadn't put a finger anywhere near the hardmode button since starting on survivor.
Anyway I arranged my heroes, precast spirits, pulled, and we just exploded. I tried to run, watching my perilously low health slowly dropping from burning, didn't get any heals, dead. I couldn't believe it.
Then, to add insult to injury, I figured I might as well do the bounty on hardmode now, and of course, it went smooth as butter, hardly anyone's health even dropped much.
I have no idea what went so horribly wrong on the normal mode attempt. But I know I'm in no mood to attempt survivor again, after basically being unable to play the game normally for a week, and then dying halfway anyway,

A guild mate had just been told that day that he was to be laid off. Naturally, he decided to kill a few creatures to get out of being depressed.
A player advertized z keys for 5.5k ea. My mate gave him gold for 10 keys only to get 1. The scammer promptly disappeared. I tracked him down and told him not to be like that; I mean the guy (my mate) had just had a real life issue but the guy just laughed and said that he gave my mate the zkey (so 1 key for 55k!) I tried reporting him but Arena net said my mate had to--and the poor guy just wasn't in the mood for the hassle.
A couple of weeks ago, I wasn't feeling well so I sold a set of Nick's collecting item for less than anyone else was. A player suspiciously asked if the price listed was for an entire set. I verified that it was. He immediately agreed to buy it. I put the item in and he accepted and I accepted. It took that second to realize that he never put in the money!
I immediately messaged him, but he had dugged out of the area. I put it in the all chat and a guild mate of his told me he claims he paid. I told her that I had proof that he had not. I gave him one chance to make it right, but he refused.
So I reported him with screen shots. Sick as I was, I was determined not to allow him to get away with it. So for a measly 8k, the guy got banned after Arena net investigated and found that he had indeed scammed me. On top of that, all his guildmates know what a thief he is--and ungrateful for a bargain.
If he was in our guild I would have insisted the guy got booted as he gave whatever guild he belonged to a bad rep...all this for a measly 8k!

During Sweet Treats weekend, I decided to spend the weekend farming as many eggs and bunnies as I could for treasure hunting and sweets points. I had never farmed GoK, even though I had heard it was a good farm so I asked if I could tag along to see what path he would take and how he'd use his build. I was super excited about this since I had been wanting to learn this farm for a while now! When we met in GoK, we zoned in and I said "I'm going to go suicide so I can watch you from your viewpoint" and ran off into some mobs and promptly died. While my GL was farming and explaining what to do and where to go, I was totally excited at learning this new farm. As I literally was typing: "I wish these mobs were higher so I could use the XP for my survivor"... I realized what I had done... and then just stared at the computer in disbelief... before erasing the last message and typing: "OMG, I just killed my survivor!" Anyway, I started survivor again from scratch and burned through scrolls to get R3... and then didn't touch the game for about 3 months after XD |

I've been playing GW for about two years now with a few breaks here and there. Nothing really terrible has happened in that time, I've never gotten scammed or hacked or anything like that.
I guess the only really bad experiences I've had are a rather common problem with the pvp scene in most games: immature d-bags thinking their "skill" gives them the right to make fun of others. It's why these days I play with local and team chat turned off, I play GW to enjoy myself not to have to read some of the "witty" little comments that can be thrown around in FA.

After coming back this time I was blindly invited to a guild. Now I don't mind joining a guild at all. I'm not completely unsociable. Right off the bat the guild leader has me recruiting. Everyday I've recruited in various quest hubs with no nibbles (as is such when a game this old already has many established guilds)
Anyways, I'm disabled at the moment and rather ill
I play to have fun and relax and chill with fun people. I told the guild leader this and he/she says ' No problem, just recruit sometimes.' Yesterday, they said now Pickle, dont forget to recruit( which I had been doing all day) Anyhoo, I left *shrug*
That's the worse which is pretty tame in my observation =)

Tried to log in this morning and got a 227 error. Reset my password on the ncsoft site, logged in and...
first thing I notice, im at the temple of balthazer with a full group of heroes...thats not where I was last night?
Immediately check storage and all my cash, materials, war supplies, etc...all gone.

What I don't understand is why now? What did I do wrong, how did my password get hacked? I've never been hacked before...and I thought my internet security was pretty good.
What else can they get access to? Or is GW just really unsecure and easy to brute force? Man this fkn frustrating...

I was once buying something (can't remember what), in Lions Arch during Wintersday a few years ago. I must of clicked accept trade before the other person added the items, and gave them 25k which then was quite a lot for me. I was really upset as they just laughed and logged off. I mentioned my disgust in general chat and someone came over to me, and just gave me 25k. I was so shocked and thankful, I wish I'd taken their name at the time.

Bougt my El ghostly priest for 80e today, some OFFICER from ally wanted to try it, i lended it to him in an uwsc, hé left run, vent, his guild and ignores me. Hé is now perma banned from ally, i had bern saving up for that since ever(yeah i suck at making money) it hurts mé so much

OT: Last night I deleted my "almost" LDoA toon... how? I had a PvP char with similar name I had made last night just to have some fun. Didn't need it anymore, and happened to select the wrong char to delete... from then to confirm the name it was an instant, since I was sure I had selected the right toon... -__-

I am still a noob but.... Within the first week of playing, the friend that got me started playing the game, gave me a pretty awsome gold axe and shield (plus a few thousand gold). He also gave me the advice to salvage everything (at the begining) for materials. Happy start to the game right?

Well, the worst thing I have encountered happened 3 days ago, I thought my main account was hacked, my password didn't work, I got messages from guild members through facebook asking why I left the guild.
Confused and angry I contacted support, they pretty much told me they didn't know how it happened since apparently logs show I signed out of my character, changed my password, and logged in on the same computer. I had to prove my account was mine with my CD Keys, eventually today it was restored.
Come to find out the whole F-Ing time it was my wife who changed the password while I ran to the bathroom.

After long time of saving and some FoWSC I finally could afford to buy a Q9 Obsidian Edge! Didn't have it for many weeks before I sold it to the merchant in ToA for some hundred gold... Remember just sitting and staring at the screen for several minutes. Really couldn't believe what I had done. Always thought people who did such things were so stupid, realized I'm as stupid >.<

Not the worst thing but grrr @ me....merched a q9 sliverwing recurve bow today b/c I didnt see it move after switching weap sets. Wish grrrrr they would fix it so they didnt move. Of all my bows to change places and end up by the merch fodder that was the worst one.

What they need is a buy-back tab - buy anything back from the merchant up until the point you leave the outpost, for the same price as it was sold.

I lost control of my account, could not find my details because my house was flooded IRL so I spent a year and a half trying to prove I was me to NCsoft then discovered I was wrongfully banned in the RMT sweep of 2010 when a load of a accounts got suspended, but the ban was reversed by the GM pretty quick.

Thx. Some made me laugh, some made wince, and some made me sick. People can be such low lifes. I've underpaid people and been overpaid by others. I always msg and let them know that i want to reimburse asap. Whatever the prices are.. high, low, etc., that's what they are and I'm not going to try to get over. I have a list of those who have gotten over on me. It's not a big list and it's not a lot of loss, but it reminds me of all the dickheads in this game that need a good ass kicking. I believe that some of it comes from arenanet employees and so do other players who lost their accounts after registering.

the nerfing of Rangers over and over again. We were never the uber farmer or best at anything and yet every time we found something that worked; out came the nerf stick. Original Rangers: Check. Barrage: check. Bp: check. Traps: check. Kinda ruined the experience for me cuz though I played all the others, I wanted to run that Ranger. So that's what I tried doing. I farm with my Ranger. Thank God for full hero teams... did the whole game in both modes. That leads up to me and the final titans hm quest. So far I can't beat it. AP, SOS, splinter, roj discords, ST rit, etc... Some people say luck can be involved, but I have given up and I know deep down that part of it is that I can't play that 4 man quest as a Ranger main. I might be able to SOS it or AP it with luck, but not going to happen with a pet build or splinter barrage etc. If I can saabs, discord, roj, spirit my way through the whole game in hm, I shud be able to figure out a build that will work here.

Maybe the uber popular ranger class will be as nice as they were in D2.
