- Story was not terrible
- New items: Xun Rao's Justice(Katana Wand), Xun Rao's Quill(Dagger Shield), Oroku's Slicers(Dual Shinobi Blades)
- Pop culture references
- Reiko boss fight
- Raid on Kaineng Center and Shing Jea Island.
- New Sin and Rit heroes
- Panda as a pet
Dislikes
- Anet rushed the content. Many of the green items had or still have bugs.
- Too short
- Rit hero is obtainable only through HM.
- The Bo Staff scythe. Its just not right with the way its held. It also does slashing damage
- Some of the quests were boring.
All in all it was pretty good content considering it was free. Thx Anet.

I'm a bit dissapointed with the quest rewards for part 3 compaired to part 2. Part 2 had lockpicks, z coins, rubies, sapphires...part 3 just has the requisition orders, which ill be blowing on lockboxes

shorter than part 2 (thank you).
its FINALLY finished.
dislikes: another silly sin hero and the rit hero is ONLY obtainable if you can do HM--
NO MESMER HERO
with the amount of time it took--there were still tons of errors, bugs...
2 more minis that I will never be able to get.

Dislikes:
- What happened after the final confrontation (Just leave Ashu as leader of MoP???)
- Bugged green items
- The lack of repeatable content to gather the requisition orders we need for the rewards
- Imperial commendations still have no use
- Staves, wands and foci from factions are still crap. Was hoping there'd be a way to craft inscribable versions of them. qq

"-Rit hero is obtainable only through HM."
Wait what? Didn't know that! Time to try and get him, then.
As for likes:
-Really like the Ministery of Purity as an enemy.
-Some quests were awesome. Throwing molotov cocktails to birds comes to mind.
-Parrying dagger, scythe-staff, sword-wand etc. Nice to see they're taking liberty with weapon skins.
-Final fight was cool. It felt more finished than WiK, perhaps because of the Tear we get as a reward.
-Finally a Panda pet.
Dislikes:
-The early Afflicted quests are so mindless. I bet they're going to be hell in HM, especially the cleansing missions on Shing Jea Island...
-No daily bounty or something to collect Ministerial Rewards. WiK did it better in this regard.

- The jokes
- The new conversations you hear from NPCs while traveling around
- The drunk student's the one making bombs
- New heroes
- Finally another new pet!
- Hearing the various bad guys voice their opinions of you during the solo quest
- The political rally
- Dialogue was considerably more believable than it was in WiK and the four games. Still too flowery in parts and had some other flaws, but much better than it used to be.
- The stick finally being added as a weapon. I just wish it had been added as a sword.
Dislikes:
- Native Canthan characters never once gave anyone an earful for calling them outsiders in their own home country. I was expecting them to explode after being called that for all three parts, but no.
- Lack of closure. At the very least, Canthan natives would have a reason to want to continue working to stop the ministry even if Miku gave up, but it just stops when she stops, with the dialogue at the end kind of implying that our characters don't really care.
- No repeatable quests. At first, I thought that was what I wanted: content that didn't rely on repeatable quests to artificially increase the amount of content in the game. But, at the very least, I'd like if the courier quest were repeatable. And if we had some bounty quests. Not sure how it'd make sense, though. Who'd give quests to kill the ministry?
- Nothing happens if you kill Eri. I really like that we're given a choice there, and I like that she helps you later if you let her live, but it would be nice if both options did something instead of just one of them.
- Cantha being described in the blog post as being to the east when it's not.
- Some things that just make no sense, like Mhenlo taking over Togo's role for the time being when the monastery no longer even allows foreigners to be students there. Yes, he used to go there, but why would they let a foreigner help lead the school if they won't even allow foreigners to attend? Also, considering that Mhenlo was away for decent chunks of the last seven years, and since he never mentioned taking on a job at the monastery, and since he and the others talk about going home after Factions, I assume someone else filled that role over the past seven years. So, who was it, and why would they have stepped down to let him take over at that time? And why did Mhenlo return alone? Where's Cynn?
- "You remind me of a certain Sunspear I know" is just awkward. Either Zenmai's talking about you (in which case, why doesn't she recognize you? You aren't in disguise.) Or she's talking about Kormir (in which case, why did she word it that way? Considering that, if we've done Nightfall, our character knows Kormir, too--and Zenmai knows that--wouldn't it have made more sense to say her name?)
- Nothing involved Xandra. I'd hoped way back when WoC was first announced that we'd see more of Xandra's story, but we didn't.
- Some of the quests were bugged or weren't working properly. In Redemption for the Lost, for example, I triggered the end scene without having ever spoken to Min or Watari. I was confused when Min was being talked about as if she was there. Also, Raid on Kaineng Center had issues with groups not spawning properly. I even went afk for a few minutes after I got bored waiting, and nothing happened. Ran all over town, and saw nothing anywhere. No one was attacked.

Have you tried the quest in hard mode? Regarding Zenmai, not all players will have Nightfall, or progressed far enough in the storyline to get access to Zenmai.
-Quest dialogue, very funny in parts, particularly "Calling all thugs".
-Nice range of available items introduced, and not just weapons.
-Nice to see Shing Jea arena finally get some attention (helpful for cartographers, I suspect).
-A couple of new heroes to unlock.
-A preview of the mesmer in GW2.
-It was short (compared to part 1), and more variety in the quests.
-Wasted an opportunity to fix some of the problems with Factions, such as the access to Viz Square Foreign and Local quarters outposts if your characters are local or foreign, respectively. We shouldn't have to rely on finding someone else doing the relevant quests. Why are we still unable to enter some explorables from mission outposts, even if we've completed Factions?
-Some of the new greens still have the curse of the useless stats.
-No option for repeating the quests.
-Nothing about Xandra?
-Some dialogue was unreadable because the endless waves of baddies decided to arrive.
Overall, I'm happy with it. The WoC story started badly, but ended well (nothing wrong with being open-ended to a certain degree) and contained a lot of content. I'm unsure of the repeatability in the long-term though. Taking characters through the quests in nm is fine, but it would be nice to be able to select which quests to do in hm. I suspect that a later update will enable imperial weapons to added to the HoM.

* Humor - Found some parts actually amusing, like the tongue-in-cheek list of exploits our hero has committed and Reisen noting it dryly. Noticed the Unseen Night pun as well. Mhenlo becoming the interim headmaster and Cynn coming along in the middle of the battle provided a treat to attentive players.
* Ritual Hero - The restriction to two mesmers is finally lifted. People can complain, but the only people that wanted the Ritualist hero in the first place are the ones doing the HM quests.
* Oroku's Slicers - Easily accessible dual swords instead of batons for Assassins
* Other weapon skins - Bo staff scythe and other weapons to amuse players as GW2 nears.
* Reiko's fight - Having it escalate as the battle reaches climax was more satisfying than most battles.
* Panda - No more jingle bear or rainbow phoenix.
Dislikes:
* Map design - For the HM quests, Finding Jinnai and Raid on Kaineng Center had no strategic value, it was literally kill as fast as you can and hope your heroes don't get spiked.
* Fight sequences - In HM, I can't tell how many times my party got took down to half from a random splinter spike or Starburst. You don't have any breathing room between mobs. Most mobs are pushovers with weak healers, so it becomes tedious to play hoping your heroes don't randomly get themselves killed.
* Like others, that Ashu decides to continue to lead and Miku decides she has no right to interfere after spending the entire time trying prevent the same thing from occuring made no sense. Especially when we and Miku know Ashu isn't actually blessed by the gods, why would we let him continue to pretend to play the role? Why does he even decide to, he has no motive to act like a leader.
* Never learning Reiko's true motives on why she pushed Ashu to be a savior, I was looking forward to some bigger picture behind the fire and using Ashu as a figurehead.

And with Zenmai, yeah . . . but they could have given her an alternate line based on whether that character had done Nightfall or not.

-Some of the new skins, like the dagger shield, are great
-Some of the dialogue was entertaining
-I'll admit it, I chuckled at the CSI reference
-HM quests are more accessible now

-Overall, I didn't really feel attached to the story, it was just a means to an end
Edit: I still have a sneaking suspicion that there is stuff we are missing in game as well (based on Stumme's comment), so I am questioning what did we miss consistently...

Great content, I'm just annoyed about having to do HM to get Zei Ri as a hero. I have 10 characters, I want to have them all do everything - and now to do that, I'd have to do the whole HM WoC again 9 times. And I don't find the HM quests fun.
That's about the only objection, really.

I could probably pick Part 3 apart at its seams for the story, despite this I *did* enjoy it greatly. However, the second part of Part 1, and Part 2 (that is, Xan Hei's quests up until Finding Jinnai) are the best of WoC imo. However, Part 3 as a whole was my least favorite part of WoC.
Luxons didn't really have a large tale to tell, and Xandra is an outcast. She wouldn't return to Cantha (especially the Jade Sea).
- The overall story (this includes part 1 and 2 - I literally only disliked 1 quest out of all of WoC)
- Some/Most of the Lockbox greens
- Re-implimentation of previously removed content (Panda!)
- Eri and Daisuke; especially being able to choose whether or not to kill Eri.
- Bringing Zenmai back
Dislikes:
- Calling All Thugs
- Making HM-only quest exclusive rewards (note: by exclusive I mean something that cannot be obtained in any way shape or form without these quests - e.g., Zei Ri)
- Sudden change in Reisen's personality from a gray figure to stereotypical '60s Evil Genius figure
- Overuse of jokes (jokes are fine, but the extent I saw in Part 3 reminded me of Trial of Zinn... overdone. Stop it.)
- Too much dialogue when we must be active (be it running in Ministry of Oppression and Calling All Thugs, or while fighting in The Final Confrontation and Redemption of the Lost). The dialogue itself is good (or great), but there's just no bloody time to read it.
- Short, abrupt ending (clearly a "let's wrap things up!" mentality rather than "close the story" one).
- Sudden appearance of Crimson Skull with no previous implications of them even still existing.
- Lack of the following story elements: Shiro'ken, Emperor, Obsidian Flame, Talon Silverwing (wtf?), and

Surprised at the number of people hating on the HM end reward(s).
We keep seeing threads all around gaming forums about people hating raids with the best rewards on MMOS, and they keep asking for said rewards to be soloable or in small groups.
Now GW never had raids, but Anet adds some kind of challenge finally with HM and adds nice stuff in the end for those who take the time with it. All doable solo or in group.
And now the whining starts again...

WoC Part 3 Likes:
The variety of the quests.
The ability to revert everything back to pre-WoC.
The fact that the whole WoC "story" is over.
The attempts to emulate GW2 stuff within the limits of what GW is capable of (enviromental bombs and traps, the end battle, etc.)
WoC Part 3 Dislikes:
One has to slog through part 1 to get to it.
One has to slog through part 2 to get to it. (but that wasn't too terrible.)
Imperial Dragon weapons are horrendous.
The fact that it mostly took place in Kaineng City (Neccessary due the lore involved, I know. But I still hate that place )
INDIFFERENT:
Pandas - got nuthin' on the Polar Bear (unless it's a mini!)
Use of humor - lost interest in the story back in part 1.
End-event rewards (other than the aforementioned weapons) - they're OK, but nothing entices me to go back for more.

Nice conclusion... to an otherwise boring part 1 and a slightly better part 2
Unique never before seen rewards and weapon skins/types
Unique HM reward hero that is not so useless.
The water down to HM was not to bad... its still one of the hardest HM.
Free content is never a bad thing.
Dislikes:
Nothing spectacular such as dedicate-able HoM weapons to make me go back and make some money.
No daily quests like WiK, if you want more rewards another character is required.
Kind of Anti-climatic. Beat it and u never look back.

- The story was nice, even if the end was a bit lackluster. If they were trying to give you a sense that you didn't actually accomplish anything, then they were on point with that one. But a little more than a "I guess that's life" speech from Miku would have been nice.
-New heroes. A little bummed that I have to do it all again in HM to get one of them, but I can see why a lot of people like that.
-Some of the new weapons. A lot of them are truly unique in the sense that they function differently from other items of a similar skin (swords that are actually wands, etc.)
-The game play (as of about halfway through chapter two and following)
-The panda. Even though I don't have it yet.
Dislikes:
-The game play leading up to about halfway through chapter two. It was dull and repetitive and not much of an explanation was given. "Oh. You're that person that saved us before? Cool. Go here. Kill these. Kthanksbai"
-The ending. WiK had a nice long conclusion to everything except what happened to Logan, which they wrapped up in more content the following Wintersday. The end of WoC was just "Ok, you killed that person. I guess that's good. Miku joins you now. Good luck" Doesn't even explain or link together how the future of Cantha will be established in any way.
-Some of the weapons. A lot of them are unique and individual. I get that. I feel like sometimes they may have gone a little overboard. But that's ok. But some of the weapons are just not very imaginative and dull, to the point of it being a little insulting. (Plague soaked stave?!?! "Here's your stick. Enjoy." I have an entire stack of wood planks. If I could use one of them as a weapon, it'd have more personality than that thing.)

I like most everything about part 3, except the inevitable lottery rewards. Always hated those in every shape or form. It seems there can't ever be any type of significant new content without another set of rewards that only pop from some sort of box. Bleh!

Also, I really don't like how part three gave Imperial Commendations instead of Ministerial Commendations. I can't help but to think that was a mistake. I just don't see why a veteran (ish) player would ever need to get cheap blue weapons and ID kits for beating beyond content. (which really are the best things you can hope to get from imperial comms)

I liked the third part of the story the most. However, the worst part about the storyline was that players were left out of content for not playing the game in HM. Not only did they lose the option of getting a better hero, but apparently they lost out on a litle bit of story between Mhenlo and Cynn. HM should be about difficulty and not about getting extra content.
EDIT: Not sure if this was mentioned but was anyone else surprised by seeing the stone summit involved? What's the timeline here based on EoTN? Does this give hope that dwarves still exist in Tyria other then the stone versions?

people who can't do Hard Mode whining about this
If you can't complete everything you don't get every reward, it's that simple. Hard mode always lacked a good reward to make it really worth doing, I'm glad they finally saw that.

Just sad....

It's like no one wants to give an example of what would be a better reward. There's someone out there who would complain a stack of Ectoplasm would be a bad reward because it would take up too much space.
cosyfiep
if they had switched the heroes you gain (miku for hm and the rit for nm)...I would have had no issues seeing as I have yet to use a sin for anything but minion fodder.
but yeah, everyone will complain at sometime about something--you cant please all the people all the time--though you can try to please as many people as possible at one time.

-Nice variety of battles, a number of which felt pretty large and overwhelming (in a good way)
-Cool new greens/golds and some vanity/consumable goods
-Zei Rei as the third Rit hero - at first I thought Miku was all we got until I played through HM
-Good variety of dialogue ranging between funny and serious
-Although it was a bit challenging in HM, the Reiko fight was pretty fun
-A lot of gold and rewards from completing in HM.
Dislikes:
-Missions like "Finding Jinnai" felt a bit silly in HM given the sheer size of mobs thrown at you from all sides. Portals didn't seem to help at all in HM since my heroes would run out of range to heal Miku & Jinnai, causing a wipe. Just ended up using the bridge and door to the West as a bottleneck to try and bring down the spawns.
-Zei Rei doesn't come with the mask on his face. Just being nit-picky here, but I was kind of hoping they'd leave it on. Not a huge fan of the mask, but I like him a lot better with it on.
-Quests are non-repeatable. Not sure if they'll make it so in the future, but please do! Certainly wouldn't mind playing through it again.
Overall, I'm glad I played through it again on HM!

I don't mind the rit hero being a reward for hard mode but i do object to having to do each quest in nm with each character before being able to access hard mode. That means 70 quests total per character to get him, most of which become mind numbing c space quests in nm.
I wish they would do what they did with the basic story line - once 1 character has finished let the other characters jump to hm immediately.
Edit: ok maybe I spoke too soon cause something weird is going on. On of my characters who has only gotten to cleansing the undercity suddenly got jumped to the beginning of part 3 nm???? although the hm story line is exactly where she should be.

I really enjoyed near enough everything in part 3, especially the end boss fight and the dialogue. Some of the slightly different fight styles were good too, like the firebombs and the Calling All Thugs.
My only real dislike of the whole chunk was the slightly abrupt feeling to the finish, ended a bit more suddenly than I anticipated.
Overall, not only was it great fun (I am definitely doing it on more chars) but best of all, it was totally free

Hated
- Developer brain freeze
The mobs in HM are way overpowered, especially after the terrible ELE update. Normal pull tactics fail due to mob placement. (especially the one in Seitung) There are no collectors that give out the really cool greens like the quill or bo staff as in Wik and there is no way to farm for the boxes since there is no repeatable content.
I liked the story, even with the maudlin morals. HM is supposed to be hard, I get it, but the developers seem to be trying to challenge the players through overwhelming them rather than balancing the game. The quests are still buggy. It seems they just squirted out the last part to be over with it.

Dislike the fact that I'll never be able to finish it. Apparently the live team is trying to drive off every player except the uber players. Games are supposed to be fun and entertaining and they've made Guild Wars into a tedious frustrating mess. If I wanna spend days pouring over forums, guides, and builds trying to figure out how to get thru a mission ( just spent 4 frickin' hours on What waits in Shadow by the way ), oh wait, thats called work not entertainment. Time to end my 6+year GW career and go find a game the developers actually want people to play. I would love to follow the storyline but they've made that impossible for the majority of us casual gamers who don't live and breathe this game, anyway, venting time is over. Thanks for listening and good luck.

Hmm? I have yet to find any single problem with WoC, it is quite easy, atleast in NM. Just get a bunch of heroes and you are all set, even with normal builds.
I love how people blame the company when the "fault" is clearly their own
