I want to start with saying I think what you are doing is fantastic.
Since the start of guildwars, I have played a warrior as my main class. I still remember being attracted the fact I could take 0 dmg for the first half of the game if I was well prepared/geared. By the time I had gotten a bit higher level, I would hear things about soloing mobs (like griffins outside AR in the desert), but it would seem whenever I started learning the farm within days there would be a patch. I managed to make a small amount of coin for the basics of armor and weapons.
At the time, I was more focused on the social aspect of GW, as it was one of my first mmo's I had played. I gave what little money I could scrounge up to the guild so we could have "nice" things in our hall and to have some fun activities. When I first heard about GW2, I made one thing very clear to myself, I wanted to get obsidian armor as my final big accomplishment in GW. I wanted to leave achieving something "nice" for myself. Now I am not asking for the full 100+ ecto etc etc. I have managed to pave the way myself through my years of playing slowly, but have realized while I am almost there, I do not have the time to be able to make it.
After graduating from college last year and starting working full time in an industry where spending upwards of 60+ hours a week(m-f) is normal, it is quite obvious my time for gw is lacking, but I still wish to have this one last goal in my mind. What I would like to ask for is the remaining 24 ecto I need since I have about 80 myself in savings.
I truly admire you for being able to give like you are. It is refreshing to see there are still players who just want to help for the sake of helping.

Re-enjoying GW after my accound got used by goldsellers :S so im almost totaly stript.
The reason for returning is ofcource GW2 and Nightfall. Never playd nightfall but i wanted to buy because why not enjoying reaching 30/50 with some new contend.
I would really love some help in the form of ectos because i would like to upgrad my Heroes and buy me some armour. Returning after so long i found out i lack the knowedge of making right decisions because so much is changed in the game.

Hey Luke, thought I'd take a chance at getting some financial help. I started playing GW at release and have been an on and off player for the full 7 years. With GW2 quickly on its way, I find myself pressed for time and cash. I am desperately trying to finish up my Honor monument, but the Zaishen, Sweet Tooth, and Drunkard titles have left me with little hope of reaching 50/50.

I have no interest in money what so ever, i have already reach my goal in hom and are satisfied with that, ive farmed and traded for all the weapons i need and armors for my main, what i lacked, and once of upon a time had, which i regret selling so much is an exact replika of the shield you are offering out, dont know why i really sold it all these years ago, but i would do anyting to get one back for my little collection of oldschool weapons, and dont worry, would even think about selling it, if i could customize it i would to it instantly

For me the reason for asking you to donate some of your ecto's to me are simple: to increase my enjoyment of the game.
After farming the required amount of ectos for my obsidian armour my enjoyment of the game is at an all time low since I know that now I will have to start farming about 70 obsidian shards (which would cost me about 30e (hopefully)).
I loved doing the missions in the game with my friends, doing the vanquishes, getting luxon rep in jade quarry and skill hunting. But this solo and very repetative farming is not my thing at all.
Since my nickname is Brave Sir Robin in my guild I could really use the extra armour to bolster my courage to fight.. emm maybe.. a rabbit

Ireland is in the midst of the best spell of weather in, probably, some years - hence I'm outside like the rest of the country enjoying it and when I'm indoors I'm writing. Do keep responding and whatnot, just realise it'll be another day or two before I have a couple of hours to sift through the responses and go online and attempt to give it away.
Once again thank you for all the responses here and also in game. I'm happy to chat to anyone when I'm online (usually, unless I'm wrecked or in the midst of chatting to someone else - those of you that have met with me in game will realise that I can't fathom simultaneous conversations). This will probably be my final message on here before the thread ends in about a week. The last decision I make will be on the shield, I'm not sure if I have anything else of value left on my characters - I'm tempted to salvage my obsidian armour in hopes of some ectos out of that which I could then donate. So I pretty much am just looking for any financial support I can get, I used to SC a lot before Dhuum was introduced and I took a little break, I came back to guild wars near Christmas time to see that, well, I had been hacked. I'm not gunna give a sob story about everything I lost because my characters weren't deleted, so I didn't lose everything. Right now I'm just trying to get back to where I was, I'm doing simple little farms to try and build up some cash, trying to learn new builds, buy the armors necessary for farms or SCs, unfortunately it's fairly hard for me to make money without money, I really can't remember how I started making money in the first place. All this being said I was hoping I could get about 100k, or 15e as it seems to be in the current game market. I don't really deserve this money as I haven't done anything that would warrant that, but it would make playing the game that much more pleasant for me. It's your ecto, and the fact you would even consider giving any to me is something I'm very grateful for. It's a shame to see such a genuine player leaving guild wars, I was once given a large sum of cash, probably about 10k which was a lot for me as I had just started playing, from a stranger in yaks bend and since then I've tried to carry on that tradition. Although I don't know you, I'm sad to see you go.

I am delving more into the study of literary theory in the fall. Your post inspired me because of the time and effort you've spent laboring on your work.
I've been a player of Guild Wars since 2006 and spent much of my time having fun with friends, meeting new friends in the guild I joined, and holding 1vs1 tournaments for fun with prizes. I once had a fairly large amount of gold that I gave away to my friends in the guild. I got rid of most of my weapons because I thought I was quitting for good. It turns out I wasn't.
I love playing for the fun of it, even though I haven't played that much in a while. That has changed since I have gotten back into the game with me and my friend chasing GWAMM. (I'm currently at I'm Very Important and he's at rank 4. Unfortunately I am dirt poor right now and cannot afford to buy consumables or weapons for me or my heroes, as well as achieve my dream of maxing treasure hunter and getting Grandmaster Treasure Hunter. (Currently at 2000 something chests) Also, as a college student interning this summer, I do not have much time to farm or make money. I would love to get as much of this task done before GW2. I would love to get 25e if at all possible.

I just got the game a couple months ago, with the intent to get all the HoM points for my GW2 characters. I'm still not quite sure how the currency works in the game, but at this point I know I need enough to purchase one rare and one unique mini. I've got 8/30 points (I don't know if I'm capable of 50/50 but I'll definitely try) and that would bump me up to 10. In a perfect world I'd have a total of 50 miniatures because I enjoy collecting them.
I'm not the best gamer. I have some coordination and depth-perception issues that prevent me from ever being a pro, and I'm mostly being carried through the game by my boyfriend at this point. Both of us are new but he's why I'm half-way through my first campaign, hahaha.

I have been Guild Wars player from 5 years ago and have had breaks and takeoffs, but have always came back to world of Guild Wars, since this is where I really enjoy playing. I currently have 42 points at HoM, and working for 3 points more to unlock the Legend of the Mists title, which is my main goal in the game.
I have been in very helpful guild for 3 years now, we help each other in any kind of things in the game, teach people play and stuff. Since I don't have much time for playing nowdays, and that little time I have I use to pvp in Guild Wars.

I'm actually a mostly retired player. In the nearly 6 years(6th B-day is Aug 28!) I've done alot of awesome things. I have been in 4 amazing guilds: Deadly Warriors of Hell[DWoH], LaZy Imperium, This Guilds Name is Really[Dumb], and Warrior Nation[WN]. I have beaten all the campaigns on my own and had epic adventures. Heck, I've played with IRL friends and that was probably the best thing about playing GW.
Like most people I have expensive things. I have a Tormented Shield, an Oppressor Shield and Spear, and a Destroyer Spear all on my main and she has 7 sets of Elite armor(Vabbian, Vanguard, Asuran, Norn, 15k Kurz, Canthan, and Cabal with a Dread Mask). One thing I wish I had gotten was Obsidian Armor. If I hadn't gotten the Torm Shield or the 2nd set of Vabbian for another toon I could have swung it but alas my youth was misspent. I have never been able to get into groups farming ectos, either my connection was too slow or my equipment was not up to par, and all my attempts to farm them on other characters have been disabled by skill changes(I miss my UW Trap farm...). So I have gotten everything I have the hard but somewhat traditional way: farming raw cash through 55 farming. Things were easier when I could buy a CoF run for 2k and make 5k a run because I didn't have to burn my brain out doing the same run for 4 hours a night, for 3 or so weeks. These days I have alot of things that I can't really use and so I decided to giveaway most of what I have.
If I had at least some ectos or goods associated with Obsidian armor it would be a great start to the final act of my GW1 experience. Also, any advice for Necros getting into UW/FoW SC or even regular runs would be good.

Hello Luke, I started in guild wars 5 years ago. I played on and off mostly for the duration of that. I could never just stick through for long months, but I would always find myself drifting back to guild wars whenever I strayed.
Sadly even with all that time behind me, I was never one to stick to any character. I hoped to and fro from one class to another, heck it took me 4 years before I even beat the prophecy campaign. Finally 6 months ago I decided to actually stick with just one. My ranger. In that time I have pushed through nearly 35 some points on the hom. I am pushing hard to try and reach 50. But, I am burning out.
The part that is causing me so much trouble are the weapons. I have put in many 20s of hours hunting war supplies and the end is quite literally at my feet.
I just need the last oppressors weapon to finish that monument and finally get going forward onto earning the myriad of titles I will require. If I could inquire to just 10e I can happily move onto new areas and goals. Leaving my weapon grinding behind me.

I have been playing for 2 years now, and my big regret is not getting into this game when it first came out!! I have completely changed my profession around (well...from Fire to Air, and changed sec prof) and can now rival my fiancee while playing (was relying a lot before...felt like a noob!) I have currently blown myself away by getting 10HoM points (yes a whole 10!) and this would not only help a little towards this, but would also make me happy as I think the armor looks nice. I know its a bit girly to talk of armor as nice instead of functional, but I like it! I have collected the runes/insignias whilst travelling and all I need now is the armor. 80k would get my remaining bolts of cloth, silk and amber chunks and make me a happy bunny.
But I am also happy to not get this, and to try really hard to get there on my own. I just think its just a wonderful idea what you are doing. And its nice to know there are still generous and kind people out there.

Instead of running 12, 9, 9, 3, I would like the flexibility to run either:
12, 10, 8, 2
OR
11, 11, 8, 3
3) I had retired from the game back in 2007 only to recently come back this year out of nostalgia to PvP again. I forsee the shield getting used frequently as Monk is by far my favorite class to play in PvP.

I´ve been playing for a long time, almost 6 years, but 3 years and 6 months ago, my acc was stolen, and i get back it a month ago.
My characters were deleted(just my ranger was saved), my armors,and all my money and weps (had a huge amount (800e aprox)). Now im just finishing my hom, got 41 points, and i dont really need money, just need destroyer/opressor/torment weapons (dont have any torment yet -.-)-
So if u are wishing to give away any kind of those weapons, it will be great to recieve one (or two,orthree,or four... :P)

First, let me say that I totally agree with you on your philosophy that Guild Wars should be more social. I quit when the number of people talking dropped dramatically. However, after 6 years I'm giving the reigns to my account over to my 13 year old brother. Yet, it has nothing on it for him to inherit. I gave it all away about a year ago when I quit for the last time. Now, I really want to give him something to start off with, and so he, too, can fall in love with Guild Wars. I'm thinking 10 ish ectoes, more or less, to help him out.
