This is not a thread about GW2 itself but who, among this community, would be moving over to GW2.

Would you be in GW2 during the head start (midnight 25th PST) or only during the launch day(28th)?

What is your "tag" in GW2 (optional, if you don't wish to disclose it)?

I will be playing GW2 from the head start, dropping by GW1 from time to time. My "tag" in GW2 would be "DarkSpirit.7046", feel free to say hi and I would reply unless I am afk.

hmmm, though i reckon most, but not all of use would go to gw2 like you and me (and yeah, I will keep loving gw1 and atleast be online often enough to not loose my guild or my guildleader position). Besideds that, I think there will be a good amount of people that are going to gw2 but decide after a while that it is not thier thing. The reason for it is that there is still a lot of mispereception bout the game and a lot of people still thinking it will be the same as gw1.

I expect it to be a totally different game that is asking for me a lot of time and dedication to master new skills and learning to play all over again. Im optimistic however that im up to that challenge and will succeed.

i wont get GW2, i'll stay in GW, as long as i can get help, which already became way harder to find due to GW2 being nearby
i need help due to my handicaps, and GW2 is gonna be harder in most points, so thats a double "NO" for me (too bad i wont see my old GW friends anymore cuz of this)

lil explaination why i wont join GW2, as GW alrady gave me bad times if i needed help with alot of stuff, and i saw GW2 is way more depending on human actions (no h/h to rely on and just a few choices between skills)

i'll be in gw2 around 29-30 august depending when the gw2 box will get to me. i don't like digital editions mostly cause i get nothing. also i can only say that it will be one european sever nothing else, to high the pings in american servers to be able to do decent pvp (250+ms ping is something i don't like when i'm used to pvp with 50-125ms ping; trying to pvp with 250+ms gives me a strange feeling that the time is not passing in the right way it should)

until then i work on my second account, wanted to see how many points i can get in few days and so far it's 33/50 probably 35-36/50 until i will start playing gw2 (my main account it's 50/50 for 1& 1/2 years, to be honest main was prepared for an increased hom requirements that i tought at one point might be posible).

when i will start play gw2 i will be extremely selfish. it's the fault of the most (not all) gw1 players that i've meet.

I went into a local game store here yesterday (not gamestop or one of those but an independent) and I asked the guys if they would be playing GW2, one of them didnt even know it was coming out and the other said he didnt like the original so wouldnt be playing this one.

Obviously these guys are console gamers but still if you work in a video game store and didnt know it was coming out or that it is totally different than the original you have issues.

So not all geeks are created equal

EDIT: but yeah I will be playing from head start, hopefully 9 PM tomorrow night.

got no reason to leave gw...gw2 has NOTHING of guildwars that I liked...so no, neither me nor my hubby are leaving (which also means I will be sticking around modding

bwhahahahahaaaa!!)

and neither of our computers can handle gw2 (tried--blue screened and killed my graphics card and my computer is only a few years old--hubby's is 10

...and can barely play the original!).

I would be playing GW2 all day Saturday, but unfortunately I scheduled my flight back to St. Louis long before I knew that would be day one of headstart... So the new plan is to spam the login button Friday night until it works, churn out my characters as quickly as possible to snag their names, then rest a little more easily until I can finally dump my suitcases in my new dorm, get my computer set up, and dive in (give or take a few minutes to say hi to my suitemates). :P

nope, I will just stick with gw1. It seems so differently to gw2 from playing in stress test...To me it's kinda strange to call it gw2 cause it's nothing like it! I really loving 8 heroes party and I want to play with new players as well. TO remind myself what it's like to be a newbie! Ohhh 5 years it has been :-(.

here just hope that they buff paragon shouts a bit

so I can roll with my 8 paragon team!

I'll be playing GW2 as soon as I can load in. I have high hopes a lot of old game friends will be back and I can reconnect. As for buffs to skills, I highly doubt there will be any more GW1 updates. You'll be lucky if they rotate the z quests and Vanguard quests, and move Nick every week.

I'll definitely be playing GW2 at head start, but since a few of my friends won't be, I'll probably divide my time up equally (or as equally as I can anyway lol) between both. I still have so much love for GW1 and truthfully, a lot of stuff I want to finish, certain titles that have eluded me, my last needed armor set (obby, no love for you yet!), and a lot of unfinished secondary/side quests and vanquishes.

Unsure which server I'm going to be on as of yet, though

Definitely. GW1 was great for getting ANet on their feet, but we all know they wanted to make a proper MMO with an open world and continue the great lore they made.

I think i need a new PC to play GW2 properly, dunno when i get a new one.
My current PC may barely run GW2.

With that in mind, i might decide to get GW2 at release to solely reserve my GW1 character names.
But after that i wont play GW2 (much) until i have a better PC.
Yeah, and till then i will prolly play GW1.

haha yea my computer can't run GW2 either. But its not a big deal for me because i love guild wars 1. How many games can you play 6+years and still enjoy it and have things to do? Yea not many

Guild wars guru has been my one stop for anything GW & now I am moving on to newer things, GWG will still be that detour that will bring a shining light on the way. I many even post something.

I will be starting up GW2 at release which will be 8am GMT ,perfect timing.

I did a huge upgrade just to play GW2. Guess i won't be playing vanilla GW anymore.

But i will never, EVER delete my dear Rhona. I'm shure i will occasionally get the urge to be a dedicated healer again. And i just put too much love into this toon.

Hi, I'm new to the forum but not new to GW. I played it for probably 8 months or so around 2008? I came back to it about a month ago. I've been dying to play GW2 but you know, there's just something about GW1 that I love. I think its a shame that the game will be so empty of all the people that used to be playing. So, I'll be logging in to GW2 first chance I get with the 3-day prelaunch. But I'll still be playing GW1. I think some of the armor in GW1 is just way better than in GW2 (from the little that I've seen so far). I also love upgrading my heros armor and weapons and skills. Call me crazy but that's what I love.

i secretly wasn't gunna play it even though i talked like i was. BUT, since i got a free copy its kinda hard to say no :/ i just bought a new graphics card specifically for it. $140 card, but subtract the $80 for GW2 and imo, i got a Great deal on a new GPU And a great game.

But i will also still be playing gw1. i think i'll like it better with fewer people around.

GW2 almost all the way for me here. Not that I won't probably do something occasionally in GW1, but after 5 years of on and off play it's not like I haven't seen everything I want to, and there's so little still to do I actually care about. Got up the initiative this spring to get myself to "Ghostly Hero" for the HOM rewards and have just been spinning the wheels ever since.

Been in all of the BWEs and a few of the stress tests and I'm ready for the something new. Probably won't stay up to 3AM - getting old you know

- but will be up early tomorrow morning to begin the next generation of adventuring.

Thanks for the many replies!

For those going to GW2, remember to make a ranger for your HoM rewards since some of these rewards are pets which you can't use if you are other classes.

For those staying in GW1, if you like playing with other humans in the ZaiShen quests, today may just be the last day to do this. Hopefully there would still be a big enough human player population for decent GW1 play after today though.

I will still play GW1 have to many alts ect to leave it alone.

Just to-day did the circuit and did a few missions with pugs and ran Ruins of Morah (free of charge ) for guys who were still wishing the ZM.

So ill be hopping back and forth between 1 and 2.

My pc as yet runs gw2 np as often its gets updated with the AMD engine control center

You know, if prefer to play only GW1 then that's completely fine. The two games are very different from each other and everyone has different tastes. Myself personally I'll be playing both for a while.

However saying such silly things as claiming it's a "failed fake WoW experiment" only serves to make yourself look bad. Play whatever it is you enjoy, but there's no need to spread hate by badmouthing other products for no reason.
