Saving Up for Chapter 2, Problems?

I'm going to let you in on one little secret.. as you said you are a newbie right?

If you did all the missions, and all the quests, as they are meant to be played, not only will you be able to afford your armor, you will be level 20 when you reach droks too!

Don't give me that "hit level 20 so you can go farming earlier" crap, that is so false it is not even funny. Farm what exactly, please tell me, I'm all ears.

The first time through you get a character lvl 20, great stat armor, great weapons and 80% of your skills w/o having to shell out much gold.

When you start buying skills that you can get through quests or start going after the high priced green / gold from sellers, then you do need more money but Anet has provided a path for you where you dont.

Once you have 1st character through the game you can "farm" with it or donate any windfalls to your new character. Farming is for when you want 15k dyed black or great gold weapons but there not needed to play the game. I myself like the post drak stuff and I slowly work towards upgrading it (not in to farming at this point).

I think there would be a back lash if there was a "the ship crashed on the way there leaving you with lvl 1 armor and lost all your possessions" when you start chapter 2. I honestly think that C1 & C2 owners will be able to warp to any area (or area you been 2 in c2 that your faction controls) at will like it is know. Let alone opps I forgot to get that skill from npc quest in C1 that I can't go back too.

A question:
Predict the price of the first purple/gold/Green Rituralist or Asassain weapons. (when they just start droping that is..)

Maybe as I said for a pre-teen or young teenager, but, I'm an adult and I got the game and play it mostly like it's a single player game because it is free to play online, that's the only difference to me is it must be played online. I have no reason or care to "show off" as you put it. I'm not egocentric like that. I just play the game for fun an entertainment and am happy with what I get when I get it. There is nothing uber in or about this game, it's not a mmorpg, it's just a hack n slash both in pve and pvp. Everything is easy to come by in this game if you just put in the time. Many of the whines also include those that don't have enough time or their parents won't give them enough time.

But, on that note for me the game is getting rather boring. Since I've already completed the first chapter it's good that something new is on the horizon. But, also so is Oblivion and Neverwinter Nights 2 which I will also be getting. I really can hardly wait for Oblivion, it's going to be a lot of fun an entertainment like Morrowind was.

well its mostly the ppl faults if they are inactive idk y they play or bought this game for. Thats how u dont make money ur just not active its suppose to be ur fault.

On a different note, remember that Chapter 1 will still be updated with new stuff as well, there might be some good new Tyrian stuff to get your hands on!

poor want to be richer? buy your bulk stock of sapphires and rubies now before the price goes up, you wont have to worry about paying inflated prices then.

I don't really see any advantage in being rich in game. In PvE, weapon mods mean practically nothing, other than bragging rights, and in PvP, you can make a maxed out weapon easily. All the necessary items are very easy to obtain, and once you have em, your set to go.

seriously if you think you bought an agricultural simiulator and the purpose is to farm than this GAME (YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT A GAME IS?) is not for you.

Honestly I would love it if they had new currency in Cantha. I would laugh my a$$ off... lol But realistically I doubt this will happen lol Oh well...

Oh and when I Save gold... "SAVE" that's economical.. not hoarding... I don't hoard... I save for myself and my guild... and I don't buy inflated [email protected] If I want it I go looking for it legitimately... and use my gold for something productive. Like dyes, or armor. Or Island changes... So calling everyone that saves gold for something a hoarder is kind of naive. I personally think the trade button should be eliminated from the game and just use NPCs. The grand total of times I have used WTS (IN THE TRADE CHANNEL) is MAYBE 6 times... and that was for some Green drops I already had and no one in my guild needed... I think I made 10k tops from each... "I DONT INFLATE PRICES"

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Being rich is not required in the game. Does it make things easier? Maybe... But anyone can play the game without aquiring massive amounts of gold... and get to all areas of the game. No Problem. Heck Most things with max stats are available for free from collectors for crying out loud...

Well this may sound mean but heres something to help discourage some people

When chapter 2 comes out, still have no use for rubies/sapphires

Because we all know the price for them will be ASTRONOMICAL, people will have horded them for the release and will be selling them for more money than they are now and you know it. Especially if its found out they are used to make some new FoW-ish armor. The rich will become even RICHER, and the poor will stay poor, thats the problem.
People will buy sapphires/rubies for 7-8k because mostly they believe they will be able to use it or sell it for at least twice the amount, maybe more. So another suggestion might be that for the first month of two of factions release, have the market COMPLETELY on lock and cannot be messed with, so rubies sapphires always sell for what they are now, so prices stay stable.

Its VERY hard to become rich now. The only reason I was able to afford my one and only piece of FoW armor was through months of playing and finally getting ONE SINGLE BREAK of a 15% always chaos axe and selling it.

Lets be honest and say the richest characters in the game are monks, I see more Monks with FOW armor than I can shake a stick at. after that would be warriors. But what we need is anet to make more areas that may be vulnerable to mesmers only or eles only or something, we need more soloing places NOT for monks

I do believe by that interview by Jeff Strain that the Assassin and Ritualist would start off like any chpter 1 char and would have to go through the ascenion process.I am not sure about the thoes that have and those that have not as I have less than say 50K on me and I would still like chpter 1 15 K armor.Maybe they should have 15 to 50 % off day iin GW just like a sale at a clothing store.

I doubt there will be any running problems until after at least a month of release.

First of all, i doubt A-net will make the same mistake of being able to reach the new armour of Cantha so easily by paid runners.

And I don't think anyone would be able to explore all of Cantha and figuring out what the popular money making running areas are until at least that month is over.

Then GW will be corrupt again.

i think it will be around 30$ for the expansion.

it is not an expansion and will not have an expansion price.

it has been stated that it will be a full standalone game you can use your present characters in.

it has been officially stated chapter 2 will be priced along the lines of other first tier games (read 50 dollars same as original)

Second of all, how is anyone walking around in 15k armor going to make others quit..
Those who do quit, already have...
It is EXACTLY like it is currently.
When people get to Ch2, some will have the new armor fast...
But the people that quit then, are the same people that quit now because they don't have enough freebies...
There is no difference between current and future in this matter.
