i had in mind a certain kind of spawning quest
what about this:
we get a new quest in proph, factions, NF and eotn called "Hard Mode Adventures"
basically changed most enemies alot, like giving them monster skills which work as pve only skills, more elites on same bad, and some would have even higher attribute ranks..... and of course more health and armor than in normal HM
there are 2 versions of this quest:
1. NM's "Hard Mode Adventures"
2. HM's "Hard Mode Adventures"
they basically just change enemies into even bigger powerhouses, for people to have a challenge
so if you get the quest in proph for example, your NM in proph will be harder than HM without it
HM in proph with the same quest, will make them even stronger
another thing those enemies can have buffed, are health and energy regen
imagine this enemy
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hulking_Stone_Elemental monster skill version of bull's charge, which doesnt end on a hit, monster skill version of pain inverter, monster skill of yeti smash, which has no adrenaline loss etc.
for bosses who would have more skills, make them boos-like foes, so noone can capture their skills
and of course on HM, that HMA quest is even harder than it is on NM, which is already harder than HM itself
people want a challenge right? well, here you go
rewards being: tomes drop at anytime with such quest, lockpicks can drop, and gold items (rarity) drop more often, and all skins have a chance to be inscribable
just watch out to have no quests with you where an npc must survive, unless you want even more challenges
i do agree with the (old) suggestion of having 7 flags near the names of heroes
but disagree with z keys being untradeable
i mean, people should be able to sell them if they want
i have 1 thing i do with them, which is getting them once all my chars have large equipment packs, and give them to a reallife friend to use em, while i get the z chest items..... anyway
this is my idea of fun, just imagine NM being real hard with just 1 simple quest
dont try war in kryta or winds of change with them, i guess, heh
i know its alot of work, and i know they wont do so, but i always would love to do NM, but still have a challenge..... and sometimes i do normal sidequests on HM for fun, like i did with wayfarer (coming tomorrow as far as i know), except for the point i have to reach at rotscale, heh o_O
quick extra: what if the HM version of "Hard Mode Adventures" would drop more than 1 lockpick if they drop from 1 foe, and only purple or gold items, more gold coins of course, and always inscribable items?
you'd have to fight powerhouses worse than the NM version, which is (as i said) worse than the HM we have now, just to get certain skins inscribable, if lucky enough
this has been in mind for some year(s), so i thought this would be a nice suggestion here now

ADDED: forgot 1 thing: the quest wont work with other humans, unless they have the quest too
