Well the topic of the thread is "Best suggestion ever" that's what I'm talking about because it isn't. It's a suggestion for sure, but, certainly not the BEST! My suggestions are the best by adding skills and more gameplay for challenge and new content to find and adventures to explore. That is the best suggestion continue to do that foremost and always.

Eh, I guess this just is not as big a deal to me as it is to others because I try to avoid people by going into international districts so I rarely use the emots. That is why I am happy with what we have, because I personaly can not even think of a situation where I would use some of the ones we already have.

well serious player will play the game and LOVE the new emotes..people who just go to roam around the game.. simpley LOVE emotes..and the lazy bums, ask a bum to join your party. and he might just /hug you

There was a huge discussion with Gaile Gray in LA a few months back about new emotes. Think she got hit with 50 - 60 suggestions. My bet is that you'll be seeing new ones with chapter 2.
For those of you who are complaining that the ANet developers are wasting time with this when they should be working on more content, where have you been? They gave us the Halloween special, the Sorrows Furnace update, Winterday, and the new Tombs area. They did all this while working on putting together Chapter 2
I'm not one to hang around towns just goofing off, but I do use emotes from time to time during lulls in activity (Waiting to get into a party, party member goes AFK - phone call, etc. - while out and about. My Lady Mesmer loves taunting Hydras!!!

I personally think there is no harm in new emotes. Just like I see no harm in the new armor, new classes, etc. If you don't like the emotes, there is a filter for them. Some people like the social things, some don't. Not saying either is wrong, just saying we shouldn't bash anyone because they want a few emotes to play around with. That would be like bashing those who got FoW or 15k armor for the looks. That doesn't improve gameplay either!

I agree with the person who said you can't please everyone. Some people are into the social aspect like emotes, dance parties, etc; some are not. That is never going to change; no matter how long we stand here and debate it. Personally, I do have to agree that more skills would be my top priority, but I also absolutely ADORE my 15k mesmer armor 
As for the whole emote thing; why the heck not?! It doesn't hurt me,I can filter them off if it really bugs me THAT much and besides, dance parties can be quite fun

Only problem is that in Town, the hugger would be infused with the person he/she is trying to hug. It wouldn't be a hug.... It'd be a tumor.

for all the people bitching about having no need for emotes....DONT USE THEM. Other people want them (I dont care but i want /slap or /nutkick for the first person to hug my char) If it adds to the game and makes people happy then it should be there. We have what 150 skill coming out with GW:EN? Enjoy them but the people who like to dance naked (dont know why) let them enjoy their game as well.

A /hug emote will be the perfect way to get back at someone who is deliberately taunting you. Instead of spamming a reaction at them, simply /hug them and make them look stupid!

Of course there are going to be people that don't find the humor in this, but oh well. Personally when some weird war comes and humps my hip (lol /dance) I just laugh. The funny thing is that they don't even know if I'm male or female in real life. Like the sin the hugged my fiance's female necro in quarry yesterday. You can have some fun with this, I think. Loosen up and enjoy!
