n00b. Definately n00b. If they really are new to the game, then you shouldn't be razzing them so. If they aren't its just another out-modded flame.
"gay" is a form of sexism when used as an insult.
And the beggers...sigh. There are times I miss EverQuest. Someone begs for money there, give them a few thousand copper and let them creep back to town under the weight of it(if it doesn't stop em dead in their track), grabbing agro from the world when you "accidentally" draw the zone ontop of their head. Priceless

Most of all though I am depressed and frightened by the spelling and grammar used in the game. I'm bothered because I worry how these people will survive. It doesn't particularly matter if their characters survive a run-in with a hydra. But surviving in the real world will be an enormous problem -- many of them aren't dumb, they just sound dumb. That will be enough, unfortunately, to keep them out of the best jobs and schools. This comment is directed at native English speakers. For those who aren't ... heck, they have my admiration for communicating at all. And at first I thought that those with bad grammar and communication skills were mostly from places where English isn't spoken. But most often, when I talk to some of the worst cases, I find that they are - in theory at least - native English speakers. |
Anyways, back on topic:
I was in UW with this PUG once (I know, baaaaaaaad idea). I was playing my monk, who specializes in protection prayers. I and a couple of other people in the group tried to organise things, i.e. designate callers and other tactics. Then one of the warriors decided that he wanted to start a wonderful UW adventure by saying something like "ok heal me monk im goin in". -_- Anyways, I put protective spirit + guardian on him, but the second he starts taking a small amount of damage (probably not more than 50 due to protective spirit), he pulls the aatxes back to the casters! Anyways, the warrior eventually dies, and in while the rest of us are in the heat of battle, he has the nerve to say: "monk?" The first time, it was just slightly annoying. After he had died about 7 times, each time making the same mistakes that kept me from protecting him and thus killing him, he would say "monk?". But what REALLY made my blood boil was when he said "you were doing such a good job earlier! why are u doing so poorly now?"
