Anti delete item lock!
dont feel no pain
Anti delete item lock!, ok how bout this , u guys ever like accidently deleted a item in your inventory when at the merchant , well i have lots of times and its seriously anoyying , lots of people like me have other armor sets or peices , i just hate it when i accidenlty delte 15k boots or a helm , grr just pisses me off , or one of your good weapons (yep done that too) well what we need is a item lock or a bag lock , u right click on the item and click lock (little lock sign appears in the corner of item pic ) , so when u go to accidenlty sell it it just doesn't happpen , i think it would be a great to acauly be able to lock items.

It's a good idea, but you really should be more careful when merchanting stuff.
Just move all your things in your last bag and uncheck it in the merchant window so you can't sell anything from there.
But yea, I'd like this feature, it would work well.

Considering that I just loaded up the backpacks, belt pouches, and runed bags of 4 characters on another account with goodies of my main characters, Adding a no sell/no dump checkbox would be excellent.

I once sold a really nice gold fire staff by accident. But now I put something a merchant won't buy, like my santa hat, after all the stuff I don't want to sell so I can just spam the hell out of the Sell button and not worry about it. I'd still like to see something more...official though.

I have found that if you put a quest item infront of stuff you don't want to sell, it works just great. (since quest items can't be sold, only destroyed)

but all you need is a quest item which will let you click a dozen times without going past it to the good stuff.

I'd like something that stops you from deleting PvE weapons that you put on your PvP character, when you delete the PvP character.

I mulled this over too, was going to even recommend it then I realized.. well.. there's already this option in place.
Put what you don't want sold in one container, and hit the check at the top of the merchant screen to deselect that container. Now, they DO need to make a change to it so that the game remembers each character's settings and not account settings.

Definitly a good idea, and has no negative effects.. I hate when I farm and have greens/golds but a bunch of crap I need to sell, and in the rush of clicking I sell a good item.. It sucks.. /signed
Especially selling armor.. Yes I've sold 15k boots by mistakingly thinking they were my old ones, and you don't get nearly 15k back.. I wish you could atleast get somewhere from 7-10k for selling 15k armor back to a merchant.

You can have more then one window open, that’s what the F9 key is also good for. While you are selling thing’s you can see what’s in every bag. You have your last bag as the only one you can sell items then you can drag and drop which items you want to sell and power click the sell button with out selling all your other items by mistake.

I usually put something like candy canes, quest items, or other things you cant sell in front of my valuable stuff so I cant sell it.

There is already this option. You un-check the bag in merchant or you put a quest/unsellable Item, before and after the loot you are selling.
If I had to click ok after selling each damn item, that would be more annoying.
You stupidity will always find a way.

Did they change it so u just have to double click to buy/sell/unlock something instead of clicking sell or unlock.
At the priests of balthazar i've unlocked the wrong skill by accident a few times by clickin it and yea, ive sold items to merchant without meaning to(though thankfully, never anything really expensive) but i have seen ppl sell black dyes, ectos and stuff to merchant

based purely on concept that things happen....lag, accident, come on we are all human. Yeah you can check bags, put your non sellable item as a place stopper, but none of these things are fool proof. This should be very easy to code in.
There might be another way to do this: everything you sell goes into the Merchant's inventory until you close the trade dialogue box. Then you can just buy it back for whatever he bought it for.
Personally the worst thing I've sold is a silver dye (so I consider myself not having gotten bitten by this bug), but the other night a friend sold her -50 offhand.

The OP was stating there should be a checkbox giving you the OPTION of protecting an item from deletion. It would not affect the stuff you normally merchant.

I have never sold an item I wanted to keep, because...well I'm not that careless. Be more careful when selling. Pausing an extra second to check your items before selling is worth keeping that 15^50 shadow bow.
Or, you could put your keeper items in your last bag and uncheck it. That's what I do
