Anti-jerk: whats the nicest thing someone has done for you
vandevere
Well...
Like any community, there are going to be jerks, and nice people.
I just try to enjoy the nice ones, and ignore-sometimes literally!-the jerks...

Gosh, she is to kind.

Ran countless people in CoF for free. Since my monk was r2 Delver. Monk has long since maxed the Deldrimor title. Still doing free runs whenever I get bored. No one has mentioned me yet in this thread. Boohoo!

A guildy gave me the rest of the shards I needed for Obsidian Armor, my first set.

The nicest thing that someone has ever done to me is give me two golds and a semi-common miniature.

...An Alliance Mate, Sard. The man berates me, undermines my authority as guild leader, insults me on a daily basis.... but every time I or anyone else in my guild is looking for ANYTHING. He will literally farm for hours just to find on inscription or weapon... no matter the cost.
Oh and all that stuff he does to me... it's just the kind of relationship we have... we love teasing each other. but he's a good guy all in all.

All the players doing stuff and helping out for free.
I can't really recall any one moment in particular but have had countless encounters in zones where others have been offering their "services" for cash, especially in "nOObish" areas or missions, while there is usually one or two just helping out because they enjoy it.
They rock.
Also the guildies who buy players stuff for Xmas, birthdays, and such, especially when it's giving a casual something they couldn't otherwise attain.
Been in a few guilds like that and it's nice to think that there are players out there who are of that mindset as opposed to hoarding.

there have been a few people who have been nice to me throughout my GW playing time.1.)was a friend who i met in AB and i needed some daggers for my sin that i had made he just say's "here you go those are the shit" lol and gives me q8 plagueborn dag's for free 2.)was when in an AB match a guildie actually paid me 2k for every 5k faction we got from a game when i was monking 3.) im on the fence about, a friend of mine is considering quiting GW and has a few ecto stacks we have played together for a long time, and he is actually going to give me all his ectos when he quits...as much as i would love to have that money i think i would rather he keep playing but its his choice
i also go to shing jea ascalon and give out any gold or greens i dont need just to return the favors so many ppl have given me ^.^

Had an awesome FOW HM run, and our monk who didn't get any shards despite his excellent work was disappointed...
...so, I gave him 1 of the 2 shards I got.
He was happy instantly

In my last guild 3 guildies were the nicest people I ever encountered in GW.
One of them always welcomed me with : " De si Mare care !" (ppl who know serbian would understand that , I don't know what expression would suit it in english ) , one other guildie left me an open spot in my first FoW clear , when other ppl in the group accused me of beeing a n00b (and I was at that time ) he defended me , the third guildie broke the rules of our guild and made me an officer although I didn't have any max titles ( the requirement was 10 ) , we were doing every mission , DoA or FoW clear as a group of friends , loled all the time , that is what PvE is all about for me , having fun with ppl that make you laugh even wnen your party gets wiped and defend you no mather what .

Nicest person? Not just one, many .
I won't start naming people, but they know who they are . I've made very good friends during the past two years - goes beyond free mats, runs, weapons they've given me, or the in-game help I've recieved... all the times they've given a hand in missions, or handed out some very random stuff (Runes of DOOOOOOOOOM, to name one, lawl). We may not play the same games right now, but hey, we still have the Vent server . Had so much fun with these guys and gals... *** material stuff, good times FTW.

Best thing I can remember was a free spider-run . Two ectoes and a sapphire dropped so he even gave me an ecto

Someone's only making me pay 10k a day to pretend to be my friend instead of the normal 20k that everyone else charges me!

I dont really have any 'Nice' stories as I've generally worked for most of the stuff I have learnt in the game. Although probably a small group of people who use to run Hells Precipe chests for hours and hours on end, good times.
I didn't do much nice things in the game (I was friendly and helpful and all that jazz) but when it came to giveaways I was dead tight. Probably when I quit for awhile a few months back, I salvaged like 60 perfect custimized weapons (Which would be worth a bombload now as they were non-insc rare skins) and took a few guildies outside LA and ran around dropping stuff, was entertaining to watch them run around for 15 minutes.

I have had many nice things done for me ^_^
Some i remember right now are.....
When i was in pre-searing some random helped me through all the quests and taught me how to play the game :-)
Some people in a guild i was in ages ago (still relativly new) gave me a ragos flame staff and a gailgords stone staff for free (back when they were worth a bit)
When i formed a guild, my guildies went round secretly gathering gold to buy me a kunnavang mini pet (i am a fan of minis and a kunni back then was worth way over 100k) xDD I was sooo chuffed :-)
I have also started convos with people in game, and sometimes they give me stuff and other times i give them stuff. I have been given quite a few destroyer cores because i am saving them up for gloves.
last one il mention :-) I made friends with a mission runner, who taught me how to run all the missions in cantha and most of nf and took me on free runs :-)

I've helped a lot of people. Too many to remember. Problem is this though. I realize this early and often. Once you've helped a person enough they tend to be very needy afterwards. I get alot of PM's from people I've helped who no longer want to do things on their own. Helping someone out once in a while is OK but when it becomes a habit and I feel as if my kindness is being taken advantage of I usually cut that person out. 9/10 if I ask for a favor they shy away or make up some lame excuse. I still help people whenever I'm in the mood but I pick and choose more carefully now. I hate being bothered on an hourly basis by someone who's too lazy to do things on their own.

Met another monk in some Cantha mission, and after a couple of missions together, he complimented my monking and asked how he could be a better monk. After sharing some of my experience with him, we came up to the point of weapon sets. He didn't really have anything else than his staff, so I invited him to come farm for an almost complete monk set for him.
He got the greens I farmed, and hopefully learned how to do it himself. And, seeing he was kinda short of money, I gave him a quick 55 tour, including giving him the necessary runes.

I've gotten 2 drok's runs, a desert run, and a Ascalon-Yak's run, all for free at various times. Some people do just want to help.
Bob Grunter
i started talking to the guy who was running most of elonas missions on masters for me and he ended up not charging me
Prince Telemakhos
i was starting all over in gw and i gave away all my mini pet collection and every item i had, for free to random ppl. then for the next three months i get this pm from this guy asking if i have anymore minipets to give away. very annoying cause he wud pm me like once a week.

A close friend in gw gathered up all the stuff needed for the mini moa for me. It was soooooo amazingly sweet. Definite awwww moment for sure.

Omg too true. I have been there many times before. Some people just don't want to help themselves once they think they can get someone else to do it for them. Annoys me so much. Cause I dont mind helping at all but I dont like being taken advantage of.

Well it's not a single thing, but my friend ingame PM's me every night within a few minutes of me logging on asking me "is there something you want to do/work on tonight?" And even will put aside something they are doing to help me with this or that.
I mentioned thinking of dying my new armor white and the next thing I know the trade window opens with 5 white dyes in it. And they said "free"... I didn't take them but thought that was just too sweet...

The nicest thing someone (strangerwise) did for me in-game was when I made my second monk, and saw a spam in LA about a guild team run from LA to desert for 2k. If I remember right their tag was [Hand]. I tagged along out of curiosity.
What followed was a comic act because this guild didn't really remember or know the map routes. Instead of running to Sanctum Cay, they inadvertently took me to Druid's Outlook. I was about to bail because I really needed the desert at the time, but they convinced me to stay and that they would "get me to desert guaranteed." I ended up being ran to Henge of Denravi or Aurora Glade (can't remember which atm without map access) until finally one of the guild people found the correct route, to which we warped back to LA, and then they ran to Sanctum and even did a mission run, and got me to Amnoon Oasis.
Finally in the Crystal Desert, I was willing to pay 2k to EACH of the guild runners because I felt it was warranted. However, as soon as I opened trade with one of them and put up 2k, the rest of them left game.
I got a desert runs with a lot of bonus areas for 2k. Probably could have been free if I never opened trade with one of them, as they all left pretty quickly, since it took about 3x longer than the run should have been.

My alliance calls me santa because I tend to give freebies a lot of time and help a lot when needed.
Zeek Aran
Some guy I bought from gave me an elite mesmer tome [when tomes were new] then gave me a build to farm several bosses and a lot of enemies all in one area. This is probably the nicest thing someone who is not in my guild has done for me.
Ferret Deathsquad
I've had many people help me through out the game with different missions. I also remember the Guild leader giving me five lockpicks when we were going to do a run in EOTN. I offered him money or the picks back, he told me not to worry about it. I also have had fellow alliance members just give items to me and other people. I'm glad to say it has rubbed off, I'm someone who can help people when they need it.
AKB48
Someone gave me a 50% discount on Aegis of Argh the first month it came out
kifli555
Not too long ago (maybe only some weeks) I went to kill Urgoz with the alliance. Near the end I got disconnected but a guildie (who was in that NM Urgoz group) gave me a rare-skin scythe and 2 amber chunks to make me happy
Crystal Lake
Well my guild members are always nice and have done way too much to post here.
When I was in pre-sear someone took the time and showed me how to play the game.
Another time I was in Yak's with my ranger and trying to get o LA, and teamed up with a necro to get a run. Someone pinged us and said they would do it for free. Then the necro said he would pay if that person could run us to Droks, and the person agreed and said we didn't have to pay though. Well they ran us to LA and Droks, and I gave the person a 1k tip (didn't have much else on my lvl 12 ranger.) The necro, I'm afraid to say, didn't give them anything. But, then the nicest thing happened; the runner gave me a very nice platinum bow. Wow what a difference that bow made, and that person is the nicest I've met in GW.
Really, there are too many other nice things people have done to list them all here.

Friend gave me 30 ectos for my chaos gloves, still wouldn't have had them if it wasn't for her. Of course I'm paying her back lol.
Cherng Butter
I gave an alliance member a Req. 11 inscribable Fellblade for free after they told me they only had like 8k on them, haha.
Sol Solus
A couple guildies gave me Galigord's Stone Staff and a Brimstone set for free just because I asked casually if anyone had a decent weapon I could borrow. They have since moved from Guild Wars.
Anytime in my travels I find a max AL shield with 8 or lower req, I save it and give it away in Ascalon.
