They can be found right outside of Dunes of Despair, on the other side of the teleporter. Your first challenge will be getting past the enchanted bows. The enchanted swords and hammers are no problem, but the bows will kill you with their interrupts.
Once on the other side, avoid the elementals, since they will just slow you down. The wurms will be in the area to the right of the teleporter. I bring Dolyak Sig + Desperation Blow FTW. My 55 SS necro does great too.
Here's a tip, instead of warping back into town, continue East and enter the Arid Sea. Farm the wurm or two that spawn near the rez point and head back in. Way easier then trying to get past the enchanted once again!
Ok thats the location sorted thanks for that. Put what is the build that a W/Mo uses to get there and effectivly kill the wurms?

I usually take Sprint to get there fast. It's quite easy to get there from Augury Rock without having to fight anything on the way. Healing Sig. for...erm...well...healing. For attacking the sand wurms I just use high damaging warrior skills like Power Attack, Desperation Blow, Riposte, Deadly Riposte and Gladiator's Defense. Dolyak Sig for protection and prevent knock down. Usually you can hear them before they appear. Kick off Dolyak to prevent knock down, and start hitting them.

Dolyak Signet, Riposte, Deadly Riposte, Despertaion Blow, Warriors Endurance, Sprint, heal sig, heal breeze
To get to the wurms when you head out of Dunes, sprint past the enchanted armors/swords/bows and get to the teleporter(you may have to lure them away from the teleporter so you have time to activate it). once on the other side head to the right of the teleporter and there should be a large area w/o any monsters. to find the wurms you just have to wander around in the area till they knock you down
One of my guild mates hooked me up with this setup and it works great.

The is also somtimes a wurm outside Hero's Rest, just head west to the zone point and you'll run into him.
However, if you are after the collector bits I've also seen them drop off the siege worms actually in the Dune's mission and I've found them easyer than trying to do the sand worms, as they don't pop up and down.
Granted the siege attack is quite nasty, but it can be interrupted.

Ok thanks guys. I'll try this out when I can next. And also, how rare are Bleached Shells? I'd rather farm them then spending 5k for the -2 Stance +45hp sheild.
Thanks again.

well from my experience, people sell the shells for 1k per. since ive never farmed sand worms, i cant tell you the drop rate for shells - but imo, 5k for the shield is a steal considering the time youll probably need to put into the farming. if the shield is all youre after, id suggest just buying shells or the shield itself with the money you can quickly make farming other critters.
now if you also want the added challenge of soloing sand worms, thats a different story
good luck with whatever you decide!
