- Picky group leaders kicking people for not having a specific build.
Think of it this way, would you want to spend the next hour or two with a leader who would do this? If not, then think of him as doing you a favour by kicking you out of the group.

- Switching skills after /skillbar to get into groups
Dishonest people will be dishonest. This already happens with 55 monks skipping the entry fee in ToA. No, /skillbar won't solve this, but I don't see how /skillbar will assist them.

- Text spam
Equipment spam, anybody? Health spam? Spell spam? If you're already putting up with those, /skillbar won't be a big deal.

- Others copying your build
Don't /skillbar, as simple as that, just say what role you're playing. If the leader isn't content with that, see the first point.

If someone wanted to lie about their bar, they could. This does not change that. The only thing this will do is kick the less experienced players out of groups. Part of GW is about finding what workd for you, not what other people says worls for you.

I pretty much always tell people and ask what skill bar they have, so I don't really care. I can take the time to type it up, and I don't lie about what I have. Of course, soon enough you'll be able to tell if they're lying or not anyway, I don't see why this shouldn't be implemented. Wouldn't really do a whole lot so I don't see a big problem, just simplifying something and then fishing out the liars. If you suspect them of being a 55 monk, ask them to call out their life by CTRL+clicking thier life bar. If they don't do it quickly, then just kick them, it's obvious. Especially if they're a Mo/W.

Only before entering the mission or outposts,

and for ppl that do not like this and are afraid that ppl would know what skill build they use:

If you are in a team you can click on your team member and find out what build they use, so no 1 has a secret (maybe some solo builds).

Something just to counter the griefers/farmers/whatever, whenver you call out someting on you (like skillbar or HP or energy) make it have its own special text color so no one can fake type something like My Health is 455 of 455 when its really 55 of 55. Just an idea.

Perfect. We add in this feature, and to make sure people couldn't abuse it (if they're fast typists, it's plausible they could type out a fake skill bar fast enough), give the /skillbar text a special color.

The problem is that one can still switch equipment/skills after calling out.

how about typing /skillbar gives a box next to your name, like when target calling and your teamates can click on it to see your skill bar and any changes you make to it. it will go away with another typing of /skillbar

Then get the rest of the party ready through private chat and ask the suspect to call out his stuff, as soon as he calls it out, go to the UW or whatever so he has no time to change his skills, if he quits because he didn't get to leech, I think anet would take 7 abuse reports seriously, if not, we're doomed.

First of all, that's adding a new GUI, which tends to be more work than really necessary for ANet.

Secondly, the original point of the /skillbar command is to make it easier to call out your skill bar. When did this become about spying on people? You are starting to validate the complaints of the people against this idea. I say just keep it simple. This idea as the original poster suggested is not too intrusive, not difficult to impliment, and is only a convenience for everyone.

There are other ways ANet can nerf the 55 farmer or prevent them from exploiting groups, and those can be far more effective.
