Release or what happens when the game comes out?

Sadly it doesn't answer all the questions.
The Early Access period extends for 48 hours. Does this mean I can play from 12:01 am Pacific on the 27th until Midnight the 29th? After the 29th I'll need a release code. I just want to confirm that I won't have to run out of release day and get the game, which kind of destroys the Early Access since it's only 1 day.

I am playing the Beta weekend, and its great and i was just curious after they wipe your charactor, are you going to get to pick your secondary class again also? I know you start back at level 1 with no items ect, no skills i imagine.

I dont know that I want to keep my charactors secondary class in the full version and i would rather not go through the hour of waiting to reuse the charactors name.

Will we be able to login with the beta key for the early access period, or will the retail copies be available for purchase early for those who preordered? I imagined that Gamestop (in my case) would have my copy available for pickup on the 26th and I could then login using my retail code that night at midnight. I can't imagine them letting us login to retail with beta keys, but I wouldn't have imagined a no fee MMO game 2 years ago either.

Another question I have is regarding the dates listed. 12:01am on the 27th until 12:01am on the 28th is only 24 hours. Where are they getting 48 hours from? I'm assuming that everyone that didn't preorder will have access at 12:01am on the 28th since that's the release date.

I think you get to reuse the name whenever you want within an hour. Everyone else has to wait an hour if you delete your character and they want to use your name.

I think you got a little confused, it is from 12:01am on the 27th until 11:59pm on the 28th.

Ah, I see now. So the non-preorders won't be getting on until the 29th realistically. Thanks for the info. I've been busy and out of the loop. I didn't look too hard for the answer, but I figured it would be beneficial to clarify it in this thread if someone knew the answer.

its probably somewhere obvious and i obviously missed it... when the game officialy comes out does everything reset.. or can i continue from my lvl 7 character?

Everything will be wiped and all thats left are your characters' names.

How many gamers are going to be expected?

Does the development team have a good idea on how many players from foreign countries, are going to be envolved?

Will the areas you have explored be removed from your map? I don't want to have to re explore so much land

you have not been there before so it will not be on the map

you do have your screenshots and memories though

I would say it is best to think of what should go on like this:

On April 26, pre-orders can go pick their copy up from the retailer. At 12:01am on the 27th you can start playing.

On April 28, the stores put all their copies on sale(maybe have partylike WoW or something). At 12:00 am on April 29th, they can access the realm.

This is normal for pre-orders, though most I've seen only gave 24 hours. We just get 48.

they can input the retail key any time after 12:01 AM on the 28 th and be retail live not the 29 th

Hmm..seems like that would defeat the purpose of a 48 hour early access for pre-orders.

you are correct

preorders only get 24 hours

then why does guildwars.com say the period is extended to 48 hours?

you have 48 hours to put in your retail key

24 for the day of the 27th for the early preorders

24 for the day it is released the 28 th

your pre order key is good from 12:01 AM on the 27th to 11:59 PM on the 28 th (48 hours) at which the retail key is needed to continue
