Anyho, W/Mo is simply overplayed, nowt wrong with it. I'm playing W/N but atm am running full warrior, so I'm thinking bout changing to Me or Ranger

The choice of secondary isn't as important as how you play IMO. The main problem for all warriors is that the time you get noticed is when you screw up, because it is pretty darn abvious what you did.
Other professions are likely to be noticed for what they do well (efficient healing or protection, well placed traps, massive nuking, timely interrupts etc), but you may not be able to tell exactly what they are doing or not doing.
I was in a FoW group with the most useless Ele I have ever met last weekend, and it took us all a while to realise just how much we were carrying the guy and how little he was doing. What confirmed it was having a chance to watch him closely while holding the book. The only useful thing he did in 3 hours was purely by accident as far as I can tell- by running away from one group that was hurting us he aggro'd a second, which came in and started fighting both sides.
I am not saying Ele's are rubbish because of one guy (far from it- our other Elementalist was an absolute hero down there), but it might be easier for non-melee classes to cover up their errors.

Cyclone Axe, Bonetti's Defense, Watch Yourself/Healing Breeze/Cap Sig(take your pick; I used Healing Breeze when I wasn't capping), Mend Ailment, Healing Hands, Vigorous Spirit, Live Vicariously, Rebirth.
10 Healing
14 Axe
9 Tactics
7 Strength
1st Weapon set: Zealous Axe of Defense/Shield
2nd Weapon set: Axe of Enchanting/8 req. +10 energy collector Healing Ankh
3rd Weapon set: no req. 9-13 pre-sear Flatbow(customized) for pulling
That was my build, and it is better now than when I used it thanks to the increase to Healing Hands and Live Vicariously, but what do I know, I am just a dumb Whammo.
Then again, I henched all those missions with said build, so I guess this thread doesn't apply.
Edit: Wow, Mending isn't anywhere on that skillbar....

W/Mo rock if you know what your doing.....problem is that most dont. If they dont know what theyre doing they die, but also if the others in the group dont know what theyre doing then the Warrior is also usualy the first to die, but the casters/healers do not usualy see this as their fault somehow because the warrior died so he is crap ILMAO. A warrior cannot survive if the others arent doing their job also so dont allways blame him. If you dont understand this then you are probably a nOOb... sorry
of course there are nOOb warriors who rush and dont listen etc, but no more than any class...its just because they are close range fighters, they die first in most situations whether the nOOb or if the others are nOObs.
Griffon farming has been nerfed so maybe they are looking for new farming grounds?

I monk RoF somewhat often due to the lack of monks there. Too bad I didn't get a screenshot of the one time I saw a group looking for a warrior and only one in the entire place (much more common in Abbadon's Mouth and Hell's Precipice).

The problem with the W/Mo combo is that because it is the most popular combo, most of the younger players adopt it as it is easy to get on with and quick to learn.
What they don't learn is the finer art of the game (pulling small groups, smaller aggro's) they expect the monk to look after their asses while they just run around trying to kill as much as possible (it's not a competition you know).
I play a W/Mo and have no trouble staying alive. Now I'm not saying I am a pro player, on the contrary I just play to survive. It might take a little bit longer but we all survive and everyone is happy. If I do die I wait patiently for the monk to rez me, they can see that I'm dead & may be too busy keeping the rest of the team alive.
I got into a PUG in the Wilds, we did the mission and bonus, as well as Bloodstone Fen mission and bonus, during the wilds I was the only warrior primary. Not one of the team died once (except Alesia I think).
Moral of the story: Not all W/Mo's are stupid tanks with one brain cell that switches into KILL KILL KILL mode when they see a red dot on the radar.
But as they are the majority nearly everyone expects a W/Mo to aggro every single bad guy in the area & shout REZ ME NOOB 10 seconds later.

I'm smart enough to know that not all Wammo's are that stupid ^^
I mean, my brother has a Wammo, and he's playing smart, he actually takes tank moves when he needs to tank :P(saw a Frenzy 'Tanker' once :z)
And btw, I have more respect for Wammo's then Trappers in RA :P

Oh, be sure to blame the W/xx for not controlling aggro when you casters step inside my aggro. I have seen very few casters that realize they need to stay outside of the aggro bubble...yes it's easy to figure out...it's the same distance from which you can cast a spell on me or a monster.

Well, that *is* a lot of W/Mos thats for sure. But for all you people laughing at them and telling them to take Henchies.. perhaps that is WHY they are whammo's. When I run missions solely with henchies I go W/Mo for the hard rezz. Agro is a joke with them, the healers like to tank, and they all love to take lava baths. I got all the RoF missions done with henchies but it would have been hella harder without rebirth.

Wa/Mo aren't bad, they can be bad, like anything. I think many Wa/Mo are soloists really, and thus don't bother paying attention to the party.
They are also a popular choice with nwe players, and if you haven't played with other classes you don't tend to appreciate what they do. Having no appreciation of what others are doing leads to problems.
Off topic, but addressing Mending:
Mending isn't a bad skill in itself; it has uses. It can't be interrupted when on, doesn't stop you from chasing folks, takes no attention. It is a waste of energy though, at 18 healing per energy spent, when your monk could do it (heal) for you. Soloing? Great, mending is fine - even preferable sometimes. Running? Sure, can be handy! It's a dumb use of energy by a non-monk in a party with a competent monk. The WORST reason to use it is laziness - "I don't want to switch off my vampiric weapon between fights".
That said, I run a mending monk for fun sometimes, especially in PvE, with lots of traps/poisoned water around - at 4 pips of healing it's pretty strong, and with blessed signet I'm supoprting it at 0.25 pips per mending. It's in fact better than a heal party in efficiency - if I have a group of 8 with mending on each (not typically what I do, but have done) that's 2 pips of energy, supporting 32 pips of healing, for 64 healing every second on 2/3 of an energy per second, or 96 healed per energy spent. Heal Party at 16 healing with 8 party members heals 84*8, divided by 15 energy = 44.8 healed per energy. Which is better vs degen? Mending monk FTW.

A large percentage of GW players are idiots.
A large percentage of GW players are warriors.
Therefore a significant percentage of warriors are probably idiots. Flawed logic, but it sure seems to be the case. I can bet the really bad wammos play other characters just as poorly, only they dont play them as often as they play a warrior.

W/Mo in RoF are news now????? This issue has been around since the game ended its Beta.
New players like their W/Mo. Old players like their W/Mo. Whats the story here?

theyre prob there trying to cap evicerate. since maybe they have trouble finding a group cuz they are the leftovers from balanced build designed teams. or soloing parts of the map . you can solo there and theres good drops

Try Hell's Precipice. Just as many on a good day.

I don't see why everyone is raggin' on wammos...my first char was a wammo, i changed after i didnt need to solo anymore. They aren't all noobs, the only reason that the percentile of dumb wammos is higher than the smart one's is because many people pick w/mo as their first char. Ive seen many annoying w/me's, w/n's, mo/w's,etc, just as much as w/mo's. To me its not the profession they chose, its the person infront of the keyboard
I hate when people called me noob wammo when i was a w/mo in pvp, and i was pure warrior....now i just stay w/n so they don't waste my time...
BTW:Valdaran Longfoot, our avaters are like the same :P

W/Mo get a hard time because they are the easiest to blame when things go wrong. If an elle draws agro and gets the group killed Ive seen this blamed on the W/Mo....BY THE ELLE!
Ive met so many different kinds of people in this game and I have to say most of it makes my sick to be honest. There are the lowest level of behavior that is easily expelled in a game where you do not have to answer for your actions (really) or face people in person. This makes peoples true nature come out as there is no risk involved that there normally would be if that person was walking down the street for example. Im sure most of the people Im taking about wouldnt walk up to me and curse me face to face...nor would I want them to. Anyone flaming a single class in the game is a nOOb...you might not even realize this, but you are... sorry to you. if you dont have the intelligence to realize why, then read the forums some more because it would take all day to explain there are better players than you and more experienced that are W/Mo's
Here comes the old most people play first with W/Mo therefore most are nOObs.... jesus the first few levels, but FoW, UW, SF and so on...get a life. People who have been run to where they are..different story but thats the same with every class.
I forget sometimes I could be playing a game with 12 year olds. Thank God for my Guild and the few random decent non-scammers, non flamers, non morons and non-freeloaders.
Metanoia
The saddest thing about all these anti-wammo jokes is that it seems like 80% of the people in the game take it seriously.
The irony is that I'm usually only W/Mo so I can pack Life Bond for when the "pro" squishies inevitably pull aggro. The rest of the time I'm W/R so I can spam TF for 150% damage output, which is just plain fun.
Perhap's it's sneaky pre-emptive karma. They assume I'm a noob because I assume they're a noob.
Ps. If you genuinely believe that Devona > Wammo, then Empty Slot > You. Squishies who don't understand aggro-management are the REAL reason most parties fail. Think about it, does the party die when the W/Mo runs off and gets killed or when the monsters swarm your group while chasing a caster who got too close?

wammos are like roaches, hard to get rid of pests.
but there is something worse then a wammo, and i bet you guys are thinking, theres nothing worse then a mindless wammo?, and thats a warrior/ele with firestorm, or flare.

It reduces the cooldown of your normal attacks by 33%...
If you strike every 3 seconds, you'll strike a total of 20 times every minute.
If you strike every 2 seconds, you'll strike a total of 30 times every minute.
---------------(33% faster)--------------------(50% more damage)-----

I remember a few months ago there was one guy in ToA forming a team for UW who wanted it full of wammos. It was so funny I had to change my secondary to monk so I could join to witness the bloodbath (of dead wammos that is). As expected on entering UW 7 wammos charge at the group of 3 aatxe and get ripped up in under 2 mins.
Moral of the story is Aatxe + riposte + Deadly reposte>Wammos with frenzy
That was well worth my 125g. Regret I got no screen shots.

I think the problem is with wammos running around calling themselves 'tanks' they get the feeling that healing sig and mending is a invinci tank and that there is no such thing as an aggro circle. Sorrows Furnace farming is just as bad -.-

What annoys me so much is when you get a nice agro, then they rush in the SECOND you hit doyalk and use area effect meaning you slowly pace after the scattering foes.
Toll Booth Willie
These topics keep coming up and I don't understand it.
Most people have 3-4 PvE characters, one of which may be a w/mo.
I play a warrior alot but I also have a monk, OMG. I have a lvl 20 of every main (6 chars, 2 accounts) and I enjoy play w/x the best personally.
Under this bias against wammo if I log on my war I am a noob tard who should delte its character. If I log on my mo/me then I am GW god who you should pay to help you on mission.
Yes I have played with some bad warriors and alot of people play them as their first character because its extra armor and defensive tactics. It gives them a chance to make some mistakes and not die as soon as they do. I also have played with some HORRIBLE monks who run out of energy constantly or don't even heal once before you die slowly and they weren't afk. I have seen a MM who can't seem to even keep up 2 fiends and yet thats all they were asked to do. Or eles who just bring met shower and echo, but have no energy management. Or the eles who feel its best to bring ice spear and stand next to the agro.

The comment about there being a large % of idiots in guild wars, and a large % of warriors in GW is why this happens. If 1/2 of Wammos are idiots, and you have 2 Wammos on your team, theres a 75% chance you got an idiot Wammo in there...
But heres the thing, if a Warrior dies (whether he's good or not) one of your monks should have rebirth and be able to ress him without TOO much trouble. If both of your monks die? The Wammo SHOULD have rebirth, and be able to ress without too much trouble. W/x might not have it.
besides, as a Wammo I can help my monks more. I can rebirth, and I can also throw out a breeze on someone suffering from degen, therefore relieving the monk a bit.
Mending has alot of uses, dont bash it.

You and another guildie monk with Unyeilding Aura + 5 or 6 know-it-all, aggro happy, Rurik sword Wammos can be very fun

First .... I know that not all wammos are complete mindless twits, but I have run into more dumb wammos then other professions. Perhaps that is because there are more wammos than others. One of my six characters is a wammo.
Ran into one of those alpha wammos last night. Forming a guild group for THK and they asked be to bring my monk. Haven't healed for a long time and set up for solo. So I told them to give me a few minutes to reset skills. No problem. We have one slot left in group and decide we could use another warrior, so we just grabbed one in town.
Wammo: "Ready?"
Team leader: "Monk resetting skills."
Wammo: "Hurry up. Let's go!"
Me: "Dump him."
He was out of the team before I hit 'enter' on that last comment. There is nothing like a wammo in a hurry. Sure way to lose a mission.

I play W/Mo as well and proud of it as I have helped out lots.I have even help in the ressing in missions why let the monk do it to take their mind off of the healing especailly if it is close to the mob you are fighting and they can take the beatings as well.
