a very weird little update

can't get around the damned update...i'm not waiting for anything at the logon screen. clicking and entering my password as fast as possible. I just get a connecting screen for 15 minutes then it gives me a 058 error.
(no, its not my firewall) UUGGH. This is driving me nuts.
Checked my router, ports are open, i even ipcofig release renewed and restarted! Bleh.

mmm, update finished...still not connecting. not cool. : ( same error. Maybe i'll try back tomorrow. My network connectivity to everything else is perfect and i'm listening to half lf my guild play right now. Doesn't make sense : /

can anybody tell me if i closed the game while it's updating behind while i'm playing..it will reset downloading the update or it will start from the point that stopped from ?
coz you are saing it's about 500 mb updating behind while you play and i have 56K and i can't be all this online

It might even reduce runners a bit, not much, but a bit, since you dont have to run to someplace to get that one skill you need so bad.
I had my 2nd necro run a fair bit to get to Copper for the Verata's Sacrife, then went back and did the Ascalon missions.

March 10 update probably fixed something from the sound playback. I don't get extra lag anymore but some sound effects are still cut away if there is too many enemies around which produce sounds. I really hope they add a checkbox which change it back how it was before March 9 update. Quality slider don't fix anything.
Yes, I have onboard sound chip. Soundstorm. It suppose to be one of the best onboard sound chips available but I guess it is not.
At least certain hardware acceleration is poison for it.

This update was definitely the death of ANets claim that "all changes are documented in the 'updates' text". Half the stuff, even really major stuff like that the skill traders now show all unlocked skills, isn't in the update notes.

Those having problems with the sound, try upgrading to the latest DirectX User-End Runtimes.
Worked for me.
Edit: apparently the only place, at least for me, where sound is pooched is the Fire Island. The rest of the world seems to be fine. Weird... >_>

Yes it does. If only they'd sell you Elite's you've unlocked on other characters for like 5K and 5 skill points or something. I'm so sick of capping.

But! When I logged in and started talking to guildies, I said somethin like "Big update today eh?" And a couple of them were all "Yeah, and a little glitch too, but they fixed it real fast" Which was supposively at like 3am when said glitch happened. The "glitch" they were referring to was the skill trader update.
I was all like "no..they meant for that, it's in the update notes"
Confusion on their part followed. So you're not the only one recieving the lack of communication on Anet's part. It almost feels like they didn't mean for it to happen, but once it did, they ran with it.

It sometimes takes a day or two before they add the notes for an update. I think minor bugfixes - like this map had its textures fixed up, or that characters underwear dont show through the pants etc - are usually skipped in the notes.

Anet support replied asking for a screen with my atribute setup - I complied and gave more detailed information on the effect

Have yet to comply - please report this as I may not get around to it for a while - please note that I have the preorder for both my collectores eddition accounts, and as far as I can tell, this bug is functional on all the preorder spiritbinders, regardless of time of creation, character type (PvE or PvP), or character proffession.

ALLOWING MEMBER POSITION ALLOCATION WITHOUT HAVING TO LEAVE THE GROUP AND INVITED AGAIN TO BE POSITIONED NEATLY FOR MONK.
seriously that is very simple as being able to click and drag member names and put them accordingly, how simple is that?!

an increase of 120 shards in the total price is quite a big inflation. Guess you almost FOWers better off saving your ectos for next chapter armor now. ALthough FOW ascetics >>> all monk armors.
