TO my blue comment:
We aren't talking about items with set values (like collectors/IDS/Greens) - all of these are blue or green. For DROPS (random stat-ed drops) - Blue is the bottom of the barrel mod wise.
Blue mods include: Precious, Highly Salvagable (These two are the mods you WANT on a blue drop, becuase atleast their worth something then), dmg mods that dont exceed 10% and usually have a weird requirement for the dmg mod (like while hexed, vs hexed, while UNDER 50% health, etc), Zealous, Elemental of any kind, 1/1 vamp, 5% sundering, 10-14% chance on any 20% chance mod (like +1 attribute), +1-2 energy insightful, and fortitude/hale mods that dont exceed +20.
The BOTTOM stats a mod can have basically.
Purples have Middle Stats (like a 3-4 insightful, 15-18% chance stuff, etc).
And Golds are the ONLY random drop color that can have perfect stat mods.
What I said was, Zealous is even avialable on blue (lowed mod) weapons. Meaning it is much easier to get than 5-10k worth.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for Zealous energy gain. On weapons that you attack constantly with it gives you more than base energy.
1 Pip of Regen gives you 1 energy every 3 secs. On an axe for example you are getting 1 energy every 1.33 secs, basically amounting to just over 2 pips worth of energy. So giving up 1 pip for it is worth it. Add in multi-attack things like Cyclone Axe and you blow the equation out of the water.
Now for Sundering. you have a 10% chance at 10% pen. Now remember for me that this game takes percent chances on a per happening basis, and not a whole. Meaning for each individual shot you have a 10% chance to have it activate, this DOES NOT MEAN it activates 10% of the time. Thats a common miscalculation. Factoring in luck and such, its actually more like 7-8% of the time. If that.
10% pen. Lets keep it simple as possible and say your axe ALWAYS hits its 28 max on 60AL armor (it often hits less though). This would mean a flat line 28 per hit. Because 60AL you are taking 100% of the dmg. At 50AL (taking 10 off) you hit 119% dmg, or 33.32 (lets call it 33) in this case.
Thats 5 dmg more. Happening from 7-8% of the time (lets even say your lucky and it happens the full 10% of the time). Hell...those numbers even assume you hit the Sundering on your max dmg all the time..How is this ANY better than doing 3 more dmg 100% of the time with vampiric?
Theres no comparison...And the numbers come out even better in vamps favor as the AL goes up (The percent change from AL to AL lessens the higher you go up, like the difference between 80 and 70 AL is only 13% more dmg, and so on)
The only way Sundering would be useable over vamp is if it have 20% pen., or Vamp wasn't liefstealing dmg (which ignores everything, which is why it happens 100% of the time)
