Having played both sides to beyond the 10,000 faction, I still say Kurzick is for me.

hmmmmm am undecided. I have been busy most of the weekend though so I've only been able to play for around 5 hours or so. Looks like my guild is leaning towards Kurzick though.

For the record, I wanted to play Kurzicks until I saw the pretty serpent on the Jade Sea map. I'm now in love with the Jade Sea and, thus, the Luxons.
Luxons all the way!

I've lost about 2/10 Alliance Battles to the Luxons so far during this weekend. Kurzicks seem to be a lot more successful on the PvP side, however the price of cities in the Luxon area seem to be much higher than in the Kurzicks area. Are there more Luxons than Kurzicks? Is that why Kurzicks are winning more?

A few points:

First before you start calling one side "evil" because they wear black you need to actualy READ some of the quests and missions.

The Luxons are the invaders, they are nomandic....Their social system is based on "only the strong should survive"....Tribal....much like the Hoard of WoW

The Kurzicks have a long deep culture that has been in place forever. They have a cast system like that of gothic europe with "Houses" (families in power) that have been in place for centuries. Much like the Alliance of WoW.

.....

All beach fun aside, there are many out there who like the dark brooding side of things.....

I much prefer it over the "rainbow" side of the Luxons.

Not to mention....the armors on the Kurzicks side look better....In My Opinoin.

.......

I Also think you'll find more role players on the kurzicks side due to it's deep and aluring lore.
...............

The Luxon side of green...and more....green...and some....green, makes my monitor short out, and bores a hole in my skull.

........

So yeah Kurzick all the way.

I am leaning towards the Kurzick -- I am German/Scotish so they appeal more to me than what ever it is that be Luxon.

Take a wild guess.....

Reality Check

W/R

My guild went Luxon. Of which I was the driving force, no one else really cared, heh. People have made comparisons between conservatives and Kurzick and liberal with Luxon...lest we forget that that strict authoritative almost zealous belief in an ideal can be found in so called atheist states too. Historically communism and socialist governments (egaliterianism to me reads like a religion with the state as the deity) has required the same amount of adherense...and Liberterianism can be seen in the Luxons, freedom to the point of "anything so long as it doesnt interfere with anyone else" ....which has alot in common with conservatism....

Now after this long and boring exposition, I did try to keep it short, here is the point. Both represent aspects of fanatisim...relating them to specific "real" points of view about politics is kind of silly. One side is rigid and unchanging. Petrified much like the forest they retreated into. the other is chaotic and adaptive, almost assuming the form of wherever they are without having a shape of their own (like the water they sailed on). They are very much alike in the fact that they blindly cling to their own views without seeing the other...hehe oh well, read into it all you want, but i just think bringing real politics into it is rather silly

I understand your point but peoples views are based on first impressions, what was your first impressions when you visited the Kurzick world? the first thing you notice was the expressive use of dark colours, design and environment, this just doesn't end here- as weapons, clothing, explorable enviroments follow the same path and because of this it is logical to assume that Kurzick is an evil dominated race, simple because those factors listed above are common associated features.
Another thing, a civilization that lives in a "Petrified" Forest - what does that tell you?

Yes they may not be evil- it is sort of like our world as how we see Goths, those that do not understand their culture.
It is sort of like the Light=Good and Dark=Evil

It is illogical to assume that everyone will play the Kurzicks because of their civilized culture, the choice of faction is all down to personality and personal perference.
I mean I'm all in for civilization and I prefer to side with a culture that has a great history, great cities and people BUT I do not like the dark colours and such that is portrayed by that race, I prefer the light and the aspiring natural enviroment and the sun.
In real life would you prefer to live inside a dark forest? or on an island in the middle of the ocean? although difference circumstances the situation is still however the same.

I will explore both sides thoroughly when Factions is released but if I was to make a choice now, I would side with the Luxons - simply because the environments are more appealing, exploring lands surrounded by common wildlife and with the sun blazing down, beaches and hills, where everything is growing, and prospering rather than living in a world covered in damp soils and having the sun being blocked out by the trees.

Im going Luxon, because Kurzicks dont know what Cantha needs, all they do is sit around and write sonnets and paint paintings. Thats not how you solve problems. Also the Luxon-ish character from any story is always cooler than the kurzick-ish one.

Hey, the Kurzicks are German! How does it get better than that?

On the other hand, I really do miss the sunshine and natural beauty of the islands... Well, maybe when Kurzick takes over the Jade Sea, I'll be satisfied. >

Luxon/Kurzick, they clash between them in a war and both die. I stay neutral to everyone, going side to side for each nations and I dont care If I have Luxon armor on me to go to Kurzick or vice versa. Only one will rules the land of Cantha anyway. I will finish Luxon quest then I will switch for Kurzick to see how it is. Anyway, both side have my favorite henchies too: Talon from Luxon and Devona from Kurzick.

PS: Its not like WoW. Its not "Good" vs "Evil". Its just 2 civilisation who cannot understand each others, thats all.

Kurzicks are gothic.

Gothic women are beautiful. (In Real Life, anyway).

Therefore, I will be a Kurzick.

Plus Kurzicks are so much darker ;-)

Meh.

Explored the map, did both Kurzwhatever and Luxon quests, not really sure yet either which one I'd like to stay with. Luxon armor sets what I saw looked neater, Jade sea was much easier to navigate (you could actually avoid a few conflicts) where as the forest is pretty thick and mobs all over the place (slow moving around).

If the real deal works anything like the preview, I'll be hopping through the game playing both sides

Think my ignore list will get pretty crowded too, with the people who keep chanting "Luxon sucks"/"Kurzick sucks".. Annoying part of creating conflicts like this, little brats thinking their side is the hawt stuff and they have to announce it with multiple profanities and such.

vv- Jade sea isn't "flat boring jadethingy" either. Both areas have some serious eye candy.

Kurzicks have an NPC healer that is teh hotness.

That wins me over.

Seriously, though, both sides have their merits. I think I'm going Kurzick because a) so many people talk about not doing it, and that's right up my ally, and b) I love the clothes and the whole "gothic" feel of it. Maybe it's my closet dressing in black velvet inner person speaking or something, but I just love the feel of it.

Although I like the Luxon side quite a lot as well, so heh. I figure I'll play through one then find a way to do the other.

Bah, Kurzicks. I hate 'em. Alot of 'em come in the 12v12 to EoE the Luxon team and make us lose, some class.

Luxons are by far the underdogs, I'm going to bring my Uber Tank and fight for the Luxons. I already have yesterday. In about 3 battles or so, I've taken my Uber Tank in there and slaughtered so many people and only died a total of about 3 times, once each match. That is the one build I shall never post, it is too good. It's so good that I tanked 7 Kurzicks and alot of minions at a Rez Shrine for 3 minutes. Luxons were then able to capture some bases and win it late, thanks to me for distracting those foolish Kurzikcs...

Ahh, my war stories never get old

But yeah I'm Luxons all the way. I'm gonna bring an Ele and burn that foolish forest down to the ground!
