Strangest Item You've Seen
Arkantos
Strangest items I find are the staves/wands like this
Req 11 air magic
halves skill recharge of death magic
they make no sence what so ever.

Necromas
A req. Divine Favor staff that boosts Soul Reaping skills and Swordsmanship casting time would be wierd.

Just for that, The pic I was sending here, did someone got this sword which it did blunt DMG during the beta?
Lord Dobo
The jitte isn't that weird. That's what a jitte does. It's normally blunt because it's used for disarming an opponent. Not that you can do that in the game... imagine if you could unequip someones sword in pvp, lol! And it's not bad to have blunt damage in some situations, sometimes you run across something that is more vulnerable to one physical type over another. You know what I mean, blunt vs. peircing vs. slashing.

Lol, yeah that would suck if you could get your weapon stolen. I was thinking more along the lines of the weapon just ending up back in their inventory, or just momentarily unable to be used. Either way it's a funny thought... new tactics... and swearing... abounds.
IMO the stangeness comes in when I see someone using something that's really ugly, and the only reason they use it is its rare. I prefer to make sure the weapon compliments my armor or theme. But that's just me as people are still running around with super expensive, yet increadible ugly items, lol. Oh well, your money.

You do 10% more damage while in a stance and receive 2 less damage from being hit while in a stance, just like a major absorption rune would do (but conditional.) You do know that rangers have ten stances yes? Warrior secondary 17, and mesmer secondary 14. Now not all of them are totally viable, but practiced stance you can get over 30 sec for 5 energy and a quick recharge, and serpents quickness around 30 sec for 5 energy also. Then the mesmer stances of physical resistance and elemental resistance are easy to get to last over a minute with a minimal cost in attribute points. So unless something else is odd about the bow, I don't see why you guys think it's weird.

Thanks for clearing up what you guys found weird about the item though, because I just wasn't seeing the weird part.

edit: damnit, posted two posts up, just not in YTMND form. I should really read the thread before posting
edit 2: but the above did yoink it from YTMND D:Credit Given where credit is due (or at least use a different host and stop leeching, even if it just a little)

These staves are kind of weird, but the weirdest one have different Req. inherent mods, different dmg type, AND a different Req. That totals to up to 4 different attributes on a stave. Ever seen a fire staff w/ an air Req. and an inherent mod to Illusion and Water? My friend got one in the desert. THAT is weird.

Is it just me or all of these items ele, necro or warrior based?

There's a collector item you can get...
A scroll with 12 energy and 20/20 ENERGY STORAGE.
Energy storage has some spells, but there's relaly no reason you need faster casting on any of them, and recharge is only useful for Ether Renewal, so I thought it was weird because it's so useless...

13-25 dmg
+10% in stance
-2 dmg while in stance
The long bow is the best runners bow I have seen, very handy and when costumized it does more dmg then a not costumized max weapon.

There is an effort being made to obtain those prices.

On one of my charrie inventories, I have a purple Hale Dead Staff of Pruning ('?' on the 'of'). It deals Earth Damage and has a Domination requirement... I'll screencap it in a bit.
And about that Aegis- Illusionary Weaponry. Distortion is a stance... heck, all the Mantras are stances, too. Just find the right Solo Mesmer.
('d buy it myself if I wasn't dead broke. xD)

The item that I own is a 16 AL req. I think 9 tactics shield with +1 Illusion Magic (13%).

But, Factions did have what looked like a couple of new plant monsters outside of the city. There are also bound to be some in the forest as well. Don't know for sure if the warriors I saw where plant or spirit.
Now skeletons is a little more usefull mainly for the fact that the FoW has that battlefield full of them on the way to the Book. But again the problem is wether or not someone wielding a staff is going to be directly attacking the skeletons or casting spells at them. And I would argue that given a choice most players will still be going with a different choice of mod anyways.
Still, good luck selling them. Remember to post your prices.

Oh, and on those shields... I don't have that one in particular, but I do have a bunch like it in the monk vein, like a max gold tactics shield with 18 or 19% smiting. If you think those are weird I'll get some pics up.

mine has too be an axe of pruning i saw..... funniest thing ever, i laughed for like 5 min
