The first day I ettin farmed, I got 3 sup monk runes in a few runs. After that, it all went south. =(

Flurry, Evis, Executioners, Disrupting Chop, Heal Sig, Watch Yourself, Dolyaks, Sprint
The watch yourself might be overkill though. Best way to deal with Ettins is Flurry them till they are at about 2/3s life (that is usually soon they will heal sig), then quickly Eviscerate and Executioners causing the Ettin to not only continue to attack but it feels it no longer needs to Heal Sig or Endure Pain making the kill much quicker.

I have been hearing of some rumors after the most recent update that now blue aromr can drop major runes, and gold armor can drop superior runes. Dunno if that's true or not, I'll have to go ettin farming and take look, but if it is the case, I would expect the rune price to take a HUGE plunge.

I think they fixed it, got like 4 purples and all turned out to be minors except 1 major, and 4 golds and only 1 sup from it =/

Last night was terrible for runes. 3 runs and 1 major vigor rune, no other runes. But one ettin dropped a gold longbow with a +30 health mod on it

Doesn't look like it. The latest patch brought back the normal behaviour. Gold pauldron IDed to major tactics. 2 purples IDed to minors.
Judging from the rune trader prices, the drops are back to normal. Sup vigor and Sup Abs. are almost back to what they were. And monk runes are rising as well.

a guy wanted to farm some 'attins', so me, a friend and 2 complete strangers ran round spamming ATTINS NOOOOOO! for 20 minutes

Personally tried the ettins a few times before and got junk. Not golds, nothing. Doing the factions quests today... 3 gold armours, didn't bother completing the quest.

i agree with the opening statement, i got 2 sup vigors in the first 10 minutes using the ettin quest from LA
it went kinda downhill from there...

My guess is that you identified them and dropped them from your Inventory in that spot for the Screenshot. If thats the case how do you drop Inventory Items?? Yea, its a stupid question but I am still a NooB at GW..
