Hrm, so they updated monster and henchmen AI to run from AoE ... for "realism"
You can change your hairstyle, clothes, plastic surgery on your face, and even get sex changes in real life. There's realism! Do it ANet!
(erm, but I suppose the technology wasn't there in ancient times, but they didn't walz around throwing fireballs at each other either

Does not make sense that some form of character editing is not available. When they made hair stylists and tattoo artists available in ryzom you practically had to queue to get there they were so popular. Good gold sink, more hairstyles were made available - the more elaborate ones more expensive. Gave the economy quite a boost as well.
The only blot on the landscape I can see is Anet's contant attempt to distance themselves from anything which could be considered a 'mainstream' mmorpg activity. Buit seeing as you generally get large groups of people in the large towns just standing talking anyway I don't see the problem.

it would be a very nice bonus to be able tochange the appearance of our current characters with some of the new looks.

Honestly i dont see why anyone would be against customization of any kind regarding character appearance.
whether it's hair, face, sex, size and the many other choices we can make when building our characters.

I understand the feeling when you want to change the looks of an old character but have to delete it and make a new to get the new looks but add a plastic surgeon? naah, to drastic, and the only time you look at the face is when you are bored or take a screenshot (atleast me), gender change and name change? that becomes to much create a new character and drastic, but would work for me if it was a permanent change (face and gender)
