I just ran in and killed him - 1st try with normal skills. It must be because my build uses skill combos to win, and the mirror isn't smart enough to use 'em

lol same, i had a W/Me build sword/illusion/tactics
that involved bonnetti defence (evasion), seeking blade and pure strike (both always hit)
so i thought i was screwed, yet somehow i survived with ~30hp at the end

80 damage? You still must have pre-searing armor.

As an Ele/N I just took Meteor shower (which constantly knocks him down) and Flare, just spammed flare while he was on the floor. Was probably less than 15 seconds.

I've noticed alot of various builds and how to beat the mirror, but can't quite figure out how to beat him as a Necro/Mesmer any suggestions?

Put loads of useless sacrafice skills in your bar and backfire the bastard. Sounds easy enough.

soulblade92
i just hacked it down with flare

Okay first you need to get a weapon that has a higher max damage than the one you have and put it in a slot, BUT make sure that you dont meet the requirement for that weapon, then the cpu automatically thinks that because the higher max damage weapon does more damage than it equips it! So you have a weapon that has a lower max damage than the other so the mirror equips the higher max damage weapon and only does 4-6 damage because he/she doesnt reach the requirement, meanwhile you're doing about 15-?? damage so you get an easy win... especially if you have no skills equiped he'll just hack away at 5 damage meanwhile you're doing 15 so you'll kill the mirror by the time you have 2/3s health!
PM me if you need some clarification
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the mirror always use a stormbow at long range? It doesn't mirror the weapon you have equipped (but i woudn't mind having his
)

Easy win. Bring backfire empathy and a ton of health-sacrificing skills. Use the two mesmer skills and strafe back and forth. There ya go.

Hey,
I spent about 3 hours last night (on my monk) trying to defeat doppleganger.
Finally I decided to try and find out how to beat him so I came here. I did the healing breeze/pacifism combo, and it works great. Just make sure to have your divine favor up alot so that you can keep recasting healing breeze for the about 40 hp healing the divine favor will do.

I've beaten my mirror with a W/N, R/me, E/me, and N/me.
1. W/N No idea what I did
2. R/Me, have at least 4 nature Rituals and power shot, start of battle keep casting Power shot while he is casting rituals. By the time he is done, you should have taken more than half his life.
I'm kinda sadistic so for the last two I just let him kill himself.
3. E/Me, Bring Emphaty, Armor of Earth and Ward against Melee. Cast Emphaty, then the other two and watch him attack you while getting 23 dmg per hit.
4. N/Me, Emphaty and Insidious parasite. And sit there and recast whenever posible. You get about half the dmg he does to you back and get to do around 40 dmg to him. Not bad.
