Anet: I mean, seriously, can you believe these guys?
DrSLUGFly
I've never seen a dev team so responsive and directly in touch with the community. This patch includes:
AI pathing fix
Dropped players replaced by henchmen (for PvP)
4000 xp for Galrath quest
I know there's already a thread about the patch, but this isn't about the patch. This is simply to commend Anet for being so on the ball... so approachable. If any Anet devs or messenger-monkeys happen to read this thread, please pass the word on behalf of the community (I'm sure I'm not being presumptuous here) and on behalf of gastropods everywhere:
Good job!!!
/cheer

Sorry to spoil the attitude but I must point out that it's already a month after a lot of this was pointed out
If they correct the earlier mistakes though, I'm happy.

I have to wonder, what was the conversation like when they decided to add ale to the game? It was probably after a big party at the devs HQ.
'HOOOOOOOLY JUMPIN JESUS MAN! THIS GAME IS SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER WHEN YOU'RE DRUNK!'
'woooooooooooow it is! how can we share this magical moment with everyone else?'
*sounds of puking in the background*

great work anet

Wow lots of nice changes, lets hope they are on the way to added a kick function for pve and the ability to replace players in pve missions with henchmen and/or re-join a game. The AI running off after death was probably one of the most annoying bugs.

Programming may take awhile but certainly not near a month for what they did today. Still, it takes a lot of courage to admit your previous approach was wrong and completely redo it and if they follow through I am happy.

I'm one of those grumpy PvP players who always complains about grind, and I have one thing to say:
Anet, you've restored my faith.

This is a great update, and once again highlights the great technology behind it: You see just a few files downloaded when you start up Guild Wars, and everything is updated, without any downtime at all! This is so much better than any other online game out there.
Shadow_Avenger
Nice update.

And given that the things most commented on are the things most often fixed, I'd say that they're well aware...
side note: I've also noticed that every update/change/addition brings with it a whole host of complaints and lots of fiery threads that revolve around how Anet was "fixin what ain't broken" Whatever, they "fix" because there's demand. Nice that they didn't just take our money and run.

Actually, yeah, they do browse this forum quite regularlly, if you pay attention to the suggestion boards, alot of the new stuff that goes into the game (like rune traders) comes out of there, and Anet has a Representative for this board that actually answers questions and stuff,

Suddenly I'm glad, very glad, that my previous four attemps at the Villainy of Galrath failed. Funny how life works.
Anyway, people complain in every MMORPG, every game. There is always something wrong, always something that could be better, or at least that people think would be better. But the fact is, when you look at it with a cool, level heal, Anet has done a superb job creating this game. I'm constantly impressed with how little lag I face, and when I do get it, I know it's my internet connection's fault, and I can't complain to Anet about that (I CAN complain to Timewarner and Verizon, since they won't put their freaking lines close enough to me ). They've create a low-level cap that has worked exceptionally well, PvP is excellent and very strategic, and I could just go on and on.
The game is not perfect, no game is and no game will ever be. There is LOTS they can do to improve this game, but when it comes down to it, great job Anet, I think I'll be playing this one for a long time yet.

When i first bought GW, i was very discontent with the grind work, but with these changes, i applaud ANet. the latest patches has changed my view of GW to the better.
good job ANet, keep up the good work. keep developing this game towards enjoyment, and not grinding

Yep, ANet definitely deserves a huge /clap and /cheer for what they've been doing.
Updates like these really show that they care about the community & what their players want to make games more fun and enjoyable. I'm glad they are listening.

I <3 Anet. I have never seen a game with this kind of support and respect for it's player base. My sister emailed support and got a response in the same day. Since they answered her question she didn't bother to email them back, but within a couple days they sent a followup letter on the case. They just seem to go above and beyond.

Love the new patch! The rune trader let me finally clear some inventory space without having to spam for a buyer of the runes I wouldn't use.

Some may complain about how long it takes them to fix things--but seriously alot of fixes and add ons--they seem to be responding alot sooner than most games I have played.
EQ for instance took forever to fix things and when they did--it usually broke something else.
ANet has done an awesome job both in the ideas they implement as well as how quickly they do it.
I love the fix to the henchman so they do not make a beeline after rezzing. Now all I need is an insta-kill button for them when they get stuck. I am sure Anet is looking at some way to do this-but also wanting to make sure this does not come into the game with a hidden exploit of some type.
I cannot wait to see how the changes to SoC will work. It looks great in the patch notes. Anyone have the oppurtunity to try it out yet?
Anyways--thank you ANet for listening!! and keep up the great work.

As great as all the fixes in this patch were, none warm my heart as much as stopping the henchmen from running off after a party respawn! <3

I'll /sign the petition. I am still in awe as well about "no downtime" patching. It just amazes me.
I'm very happy with the new changes and ANet's deserves a "good job!" for another great round of fixing problems.
No more, "Alesia, get your tail back here!"...

No kidding. That was very irritating. Even my Dog knows better then that.

Yep agreed, i applaude them for listening to the gaming community (A lot of the updates seem to be things discussed in this forum which is good) they are quick to update and solve any problems aswell as improving the gaming. Now how about updating the guild halls

Yay for smarter henchmen! Oh the agony of the many times I saw Alesia fly over mountains and disappear, never to be heard from again.

I give ANet two and a half thums up (where's that extra half come from?)
Nice smooth game release
No wacky, irritating account setup (Remember Half Life 2 and the Steam account?)
No hassle patches
Free additional content provided
Attention to games/community/economic issues
No monthly fee
I wish all developers were this responsive and community friendly.
