Cheaters

Is there a way to report people who exploit, so that after they get reported a few times they are removed. Im a relatively trusting newb and lost 100k (as in 100,000)to guy. The bow i was selling for 200k (dont worry about names, ppl get to worked up about this apparently). For some retarded reason I trusted the guy to pay the other 100k in a sec. But he ran offline after he paid half. This is obviously my fault, but that guy still needs to die. If for anything at all, because he lied to me repeatedly for an hour saying he could pay. NOw the guy is trying to sell my bow for more. He doesnt even admit to me that he didnt pay the money. Anyway, if there is way to report players like this tell me. And yeah I DO NOT need the usual, "the bow isnt worth that remark". Im in Dis 1 of Lions arch all the time if you want to argue about that, pls NOT on the forum.

The hard lesson here is dont trust people. Everyone acts differently. Unless you have played along side the person and know them pretty well, I wouldnt do it.
Always take someone into a deal under the assumption that they are going to cheat you. That way you dont get duped. Its a sucky attitude to have to have, but a neccisary one I'm afraid.

I have 0 sympathy. Anything over 100k for any item is too much. Sigils, bows with whatever, anything. Stop price gouging and creating inflation.

Be glad, you made a profit of 80k.

I doubt you can report someone for taking advantage of your mistake. You should never trust anyone but a guildmate, and even then be careful if you're dealing with someone you aren't familar with. You'll probably have to chalk it up to a stupid mistake and move on. If he had taken advantage of a game mechanic to cheat you, like tricking you into dropping the item on the ground, then *maybe* you could turn him in. Usually, if you *trust* someone to pay you later, or to do an xfer for you, or to try on your gear, the game company will say "tough luck". Since GW doesn't have a monthly fee and probably has less support, I seriously doubt there's any recourse. I've not seen a petition system in the game or a method of reporting anything. I'd like to report people that obviously break the TOS by spouting racial and religious slurs.

I like when people do that in the chat channels. Trade: "That's a rip off, it's not worth that."
The next time I'm in the grocery store I'm going to yell out loud for the whole store to hear "this cereal costs too much. stop price gouging you noobs."

One of the things that gets me is there's no fairness in the trading of goods. Most people have no morals when asking prices. Cheat the next guy as much as you can, and the hell with everyone.
But what really can anyone do about it. Everyone has to govern themselves. So, that's the problem. If you cant get in trouble for it, what's to stop you?

For a noob (as you claim you are) that's a lot of money to be wheelin and dealin in. Sounds like you sorta know what you're doin...
Oni No Arashi
200k for a vampiric bow?
100k for the string?
Uh... negative. I think you scammed him myself. Vampiric isn't worth that much, especially with the pain in the neck it gives your healing monk while you're using it.
I'll argue it because I've never heard of anyone being dumb enough to pay that much for the string or the bow. Poisoner's string or a Sundering String MAYBE... but not that.
Then again it'll also teach you a lesson... a player can only carry 100k on their person. If you're promised more for it, then wait until they've paid in full before giving them your items. Once the transaction was done and he had the bow... cheated or not you may have been... but technically there is nothing really that can be done against him.
Especially with that much money on the line for an item that shouldn't be going for more then a few k at the most.

Unfair trade is just as severely wrong as cheating.
Did you know that petroleum prices is monitored by the government? If any oil processing company is caught for having inflated prices they'll be fined and forced to return the money?
There's one a few months ago that's forced to pay a substantial amount of money for having inflated prices unnecessarily.
So no... it's not as simple as you have the goods so you can monopolize it or sell it however much you want.
Can you blame the french socialist revolution because the haves kept opressing the have nots? I think not. The same goes with price gouging.
What goes around comes around. You sow what you reap. You gouge prices, you got cheated! I'd have to say: Ha! ha! serves you right

But seriously, I don't know whether or not to salute you for being able to sell a vampiric ANYTHING for even 100k. Those things are so useless, even on swords, because in the long run, you lose more health than you gain back. Even good vampiric strings aren't even worth 3k in my book if you ask me, but then again, you managed to pull off 100k. I guess I'll salute you there.
Somehow, I get the feeling you probably are mixing up what each "k" stands for. 1k is 1,000. Yet, I get the impression you think 1k is 100. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you're stupid or anything (because even if it was 100, you managed to get 10,000 gold for a vampiric bow). *scratches head* So uh... I forgot what else I wanted to say.
Eclair
You should have some proof if you're going to mention names.
Thargor_the_Barbarian
nope vamp strings 5\1 alone are sold for 100k in Lions Arch all the time
Thargor_the_Barbarian
If your gonna argue about prices, its useless, people are willing to pay that much, im not. GO to Lions Arch Dis 1 to prove me wrong about the prices these retarded bows are sold for
Fantras
Advertised at that price all the time maybe. Doesn't mean they are purchased. That is unless there's alot of dumb, rich, rangers out there.
Thargor_the_Barbarian
Actually its usually not primary rangers who pay. Talk to the buyers, they pay trust me. Well not in this case.
DrSLUGFly
if you could find takers for 200k then you have every right to sell it for 200k. Any player who happens to have even 100k sitting in the bank has been playing long enough that if this is a scam (I don't know) or a seriously overcharged price, then they deserve to lose their cash if they still haven't learned the value of things.
As for your plight... sympathy for your mistake. Really man, wtf you doing trusting this guy who you don't know with 100k? or with a 100k debt? I would trust my guildies with anything shy of my actual account however I wouldn't trust a stranger to pay me even 1k "later".

Im not saying i wasnt being foolish. I said that already.

Well first of all, vampiric weapons directly ADD that much damage, rather than simply heal you for that much every time you land an attack
If you're hit by a vampiric weapon, you'll see something like -54 (Penetrating Attack) -5 (Life Stealing) that's an additional 5 damage per attack.
Having said that, I still have to agree that vampiric weapons ARE annoying to manage, but you have to understand that people want it anyway.
Another thing is that yeah it is worth 100k, and I'll admit it's pretty high but oh well.
...on a side note, how much do you reckon I could get for this 4:1 I picked up yesterday?

If it makes you feel better, I still think you took the guy for a ride with 100k. No matter what, you still made a good profit, even if it wasn't on par with what you wanted to make.

At the time, you could still find storms for 30k, and i got lucky on the bow grip and string price. 200g and 30k respectively. So thats 40K profit instead of 140k profit selling it for 200k. Lots of crazy rich people would pay 250K for that bow.

Gas / Oil prices are fixed because all the oil companies are in a cartel. If you don't believe me, then why do all the gas stations always have the same price? And when one (usually the market leader) lowers or raises their price, they all follow?
The government of Holland ACTUALLY did an investigation into this issue and found that Shell and all the other big ones were guilty of illegal cartel operations. (It's not any different in the US, trust me).
When they started talking about sanctions and penalties, Shell basically said "What? You want us to move to Germany?"
Shut the government right up.
Hey, I WISH it was true, but the oil companies are the biggest freaking thieves around.
In any case, back on topic, you sold a BOW, got 100K for it, and you're complaining?

Pretty tough crowd here....
Wait, I agree with them. Maybe you should get more creative in your dealings next time you want to sell something for 100k more than the max allowed gold? Did you ask him if he had any items of his own to barter with? Maybe a couple superior runes? Some black dye? Anything?

You're getting no sympathy from me though, I'm kinda sRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing. If people want to pay so much then thats fine, but when people try to sell for that much it's just ridiculous. I'll stick to offers...

i reckon its a bloody joke, a weapon that would sell to a vendor for 300 gold goes for 10k.... or a weapon that goes to vendor for 10g, max damage clean bow, goes for 2k, imo thats juststupid, they should be sellin em for 500g max. just bloody stupid.

Dude, I don't mean to be rude, but i just really hate people like you. We have problems with out economy, that has been apparent and don't even try to tell me no we don't cause I believe even some Anet people have admited to that. The reason why Anet is having hell trying to figure out how to fix things is cause of scamers and gougers like you. If you would sell items for a reasonable price then things wouldn't be so bad and I would actually have a little bit of sympathy for you. I'm sorry but that is just rediculous, 200k for a vamp bow? I'd be rich if I would be selling all my bow strings and bows like that or even better for even more money. How much money can you carry on you? I thought it was a max of 100k. If it is then you have no right selling something for more than that. That is just stupid you are asking to get yourself ripped.
