I was adjusting my attributes and when all my points were used the arrows ghosted away, I can't take points away anymore!!!! WTH!!! This means by my experimenting I cant use the full power of my bow anymore!!!!!

Anyone else have this happen? is this a bug from the update?

I am out of refund points but i did not see till it was to late, you should ALWAYS be able to adjust this!

I'm guessing you finished all your refund points. Not sure about the amount but for every 100-300 exp you get you get a refund point I think. Get those back up and you can have all that fun again.

You don't have unlimited access to relocation points, make sure you watch how many you have left when switching up your attributes. Unless you can gain a level the way you currently are, I would say your character is condemned.

you used up your refund points, each 250xp you earn gets you one refund point, so pick up a lesser bow and kill stuff for a while

and everytime you level after the cap (level 20) you will get a skill point

IT should be 100 xp per refund not 250.

I think it is 250. Do what I do. Go to the lowest level area where you still get xp. Take ALL the henches with you or join some random quest group. Deal whatever dmg you can manage to deal, but let the party/henches do the major work. (Before I get flamed, I only do this with henches, unless I have an unfinished quest in the area. Then I join a human party.)

Why should it be? If it were 100 then it may as well be unlimited refund points. 250xp is a good number that restricts you being able to completely change your skills at will. Although you still basically can. 24 refund points is a TON. You can completely change around 2 of your skill trees with this. And it only takes what, like 6000 XP? Thats like 4 missions without bonus (killing everything) and just over 2 missions with bonus (killing everything). That said, who actually completely changes their skills around that often??

The easiest way is to go outside amnoon by yourself and kill the lone devourer. It's a quick 100 exp and you should be able to kill it by yourself. This is generally for if you mess up and can't take on 2-3 monsters at a time, or your build is more of a support build.

Thanks for making my point. After you ascend and complete missions, there isn't an easy way to get 1000 xp for missions. And as for who changes their skills around? They give you an option to take every secondary. While you dont have to worry about reducing your secondary attributes, my ele doesn't always want to use fire magic for every secondary.

Also, isnt the point of this game to NOT have to grind? If I use my refund pts, then start pvping-- if you want to experiment with other builds, you'd have to score 6k experience to do so. And this is supposed to be a game you dont have to play forever to enjoy the game.

I actually switch often and on the fly from healing/protecting to smiting so If i'm out of refund points and i'm set for smiting, i go back and do old quests i've left in old ascalon area for that reason, if i'm set for healing i just head to places in shiverpeaks for quick xp with a group on a mission to help them out as everyone loves monks in the later missions.

Ive found the easiest [and more fun] way to regain allocation points is to spend a day in the arena! I was amazed how much xp i get in there :P Can easily be 10-50xp per kill made by the group, now imagine you have to kill 4 players every 5 minutes.

Now theres a curiosity, does those xp from the arena work towards the xp gained for a pve char?

I think he means the arena areas you can get to within the PvE world (red dots on the map) in which case yes, that would be for your PvE character.

So would I be right in assuming it could be a good way to rack up some xp points?

I agree that it is annoying to have to build up points to switch my attributes. For example, before a mission, I asked if I should shift points into healing, as we had no healer. I reconfigured, then someone said that we could dump Alesia as they have a real healer friend who just messaged wanting in. So I shift back, running completely out of points. Start the mission, people drop, forced to find another group, can't shift points. Real pain.

I got gimped when I was lower level, had done everything up to Yak's bend or so, except the althea's quests. Decided to give a different config a try, then tried a third, as I was playing with my build - trouble was that when I tried the second switch I used most of my remaining points, but I was already high enough level that XP was really bad in this area. My horribly gimped build couldn't kill anything much, so I couldn't go to Yaks and kill there. Frustrating. Really, there shouldn't be points, or if there are they could accumulate over time rather than XP - like a point every 5 minutes online - that'd allow you the full 24 for every 2 hours of play, and if you get caught in a bad build and can't kill you know that within 2 hours you'll be able to get out of it, instead of trying to do Althea's horribly gimped to try to get the experience to change it.

Im lvl 17, i went into the arena at Lion's Arch just now. We played 3 matches before loosing. I gained a total of 340xp [total matchtime approx 15 minutes]. Two of the matches were plain deathmatch, they didn't give as much xp, the other one was one of those "the team that get 10 kills first wins" which gave me 200xp of the 340xp and was only a 6 minute match. Since alot of people tends to be lvl 20, i guess getting 40xp per "kill" isn't hard. Whether you think it is good i dunno, for me it is at least more fun than doing a quest where you tend to have boring repeat-kill-kill routine to get it done.
