Skills - Quick Shot

As for interuption.. this is not the skill... *points to incindeary arrows or Punishing shot*.... this skill... it has it uses.. but most of them are Unorthadox and not the common run of the mill. The Boss does spawn, but i think he is one of the rarer spawns.... and he Wanders around like a lost soul too!!! GOSH.. i've only killed him with once with my ranger and like a dozen times each with my other characters =(

Why does the skill description now say "Shoot an arrow that moves twice as fast" ? I tested it out, and it still works the same way, but it's pretty weird.
DarthShadow
It was changed to elite after the drastic finding of Marksmans Wager... Put poison and -50 percent recast and Ranger became far too overpowered.

The guy that said its free meant under less skills effecting it.
If you JUST were factoring in Zealous and 14 expertise - most 5 energy skills are free.

So does this skill basicly act as a faster attack? Ie savage shot or distracting shot, where basicly as soon as you activate the skill an arrows on its way?

Yea - Its basically distracting shot speed wise without the 1/2 second rest behind it (and without the interupting and such) and the fact that it is usable right as you recharge it.
That is - you are ready to attack again by the time it recharges.
As for the Boss to get it..Maxine Coldstone likes to move around...You usually first see him with little backup, but by the time you get in a good way to attack him, you somehow get swamped and he/she silently walks away.
I got it by simlpy waiting til he came around a path I had already cleared, and ganged him while he was by himself.

heh, Maxine is most definately a woman, Harn is her estranged husband (you never see them on the rock at the same time )

In that case is it safe to assume after that 1 second "Casting time" it pops off the shot? If thats the case, i can easily see why this skill is an elite. Imagine your favorite long bow or horn bow with an attack speed of only 1 second, opposed to 2.5-2.75 seconds.

A human marrying a Forgotten? How would that work..
Eitherway - This is nice to throw a Penetrating shot or something, then this go off right behind it.

Just got this, and its exactly what i was hoping it would be. Up until now my combos been Kindle arrows using dual shot followed right by savage shot. Since kindle just adds extra damage, it works a lot like an instant 6 hit combo, since i use a long bow for the range i use fav winds when possible for the added arrow speed, even aroudn sorrows this can add up to around 70-100 dmg easily enough. Problem is even with high expertise is still takes a lot of energy (both dual and savage use 10). Using Quick shot with it instead saves me a lot (Costs nothing) even if it isnt AS fast, and while dual si recharging i can continue to use quick shot.
It works a lot like having a really fast attack speed, i should combine this with tigers and see the effects- very easy to see why this is an elite with such speed, low cost, and low recharge.

Tiger's Fury doesn't affect the arrow-nock speed for Quick Shot... since Quick Shot has a defined attack speed (1 second), attack speed buffs like Tiger's Fury and the like do not affect it. Likewise, TF doesn't affect your interrupt arrows (Distracting Shot, Savage Shot, etc). It *does* affect your other attacks though, like Dual Shot, Penetrating Attack, etc. So if you're primarily using Quick Shot and interrupt arrows, TF won't help as much as you think.

Using this with frenzy, flatbow for range and speed, read the wind because it's a flatbow, and just easier than waiting on a spirit and using IA. This combo more or less doubles my attackspeed, as with both i'm getting about 2 shots every 2 secs. Dont spam it - use it after an ordinary shot. Went frenzy because after maxing marksman and making sure i had enough in expertise and wilderness, didn't have a whole lot left.

Too bad you can't combine this with incendiary arrows since they're both elites. If you were only able to. LOL that'd be the best thing ever!!!
This works awesome. I use it in PvP with kindle arrows or choking gas and it's effective. I don't need to have lightning relfexes just to fire faster. This is my second favorite skill putting incendiary arrows on top.

YES! I LOVE THIS SKILL!
though it seems that you guys love railing on it, it fires faster than people using tiger's fury or lightning reflexes.
Combine this with chocking gas and you can really screw some magic-users over with interrupt every second.
Also, I found this very effective with kindle arrows.
Then another advantage is that people can't side-step it as easily.
I use this in PvP a lot and it does it's job very well.

Despite most of you disliking the skill I love it!!! Try it out on a build in AB or other stuff. I use it with kindle arrows, conjure flame and a vampiric bow (5-1). The amount of damage I can do to mesmers, monks and eles is very high and my guild has developed a gvg build which has won us a fair amount of battles.
Kwisatz_Haderach
this really is a great skill for as calboa mentioned you can nail out a whole lot of dps with this build if used correctly

Think of it this way.
If you use distracting/savage shot, the ranger puts the arrow in and fires faster.
But with Quick Shot, you fire at the same rate but the arrow moves faster once it is fired.
So confusing.

then i noticed the date on it lol Yes, that was back when it gave 4 pips of energy regeneration, which doesn't sound like a huge difference, but believe me, those 2 pips made all the difference.
It's important for people to keep in mind that many things that were once valid, are outdated due to changes made in the game since then.
