For any rangers, how effective have you found Otyugh's Cry?

I have never used it, or even gotten it. I believe it is one of the worst skills in the game.

I would just love to have one or two lvl 5 snow wolves attack the enemy.
Although I have heard that it works on other creatures besides just pets, I still think it is a horrible ability.

It's not for pets...it makes any non-hostile animal within 100 feet become hostile against your target... My only doubt about this skill would be the lack of friendly animals in most areas.

There aren't enough non-hostile animals anywhere to make this useful.

Yes, the problem is you hardly can find more than 2 animals in one given area around you. The most I have seen might've been 5 or 6. It's a nice concept of a skill, but lacks strength to use.

Also... Why is it only Ranger class has a skill that cannot be used in PvP under any circumstances whatsoever (besides the Capture Signet).

Because they were running out of ideas for ranger skills and just added this one so people could laugh at it in the forums.

But seriously, there are skills that can't be used PvP for all the classes, can't think of any off-hand though.

I have used this skill, it is marginally useful so far in the right areas, but really it isn't worth it ever. I had 4 wolves on a minotaur up around the ice caves, and it was helping I guess, but the animals are so weak that unless they are triggering a mark of pain or something they are essentially fodder.

I think that charm animal in PvP is very unuseful, unless you're mainly a beastmaster...

I personally replace that with traps...

I always thought that otyughs cry turned non-hostile animals hostile against you so I never even tried it

Actually, I'm pretty sure OC would cause any allied pets (meaning pets belonging to your team-mates) to attack your target in PvP.

Nope -- That would make it tremendously useful, but I did some testing on that rumour, and could never get it to work on any creature that couldn't be charmed, no matter what I tried.

Charmable creatures worked 100% of the time though.

There was a thread around here about the most useless skill in the game, and this one still gets my vote..
