Balthazar's Aura
Sprint

protective icon +27 energy

On reaching the entrance of the ice cave
1. cast essence bond and balthazar's spirit and zealot's fire
2. go in and lure all trolls so that they surround you.
3. cast protective spirit + balthazar's aura
4. spam divine boon all the way

What exactly is Divine Boon for ? And do you have any swords, axes, hammer attributes ? If not I dont understand why you can't just go all out monk and carry appropriate runes.

Umm that seems awfully energy dependant for a wa/mo to upkeep?

i spent a lot of time in Talus Chute and Snake Dance to capture skills

i killed millions of trolls

i got no worthwhile drops from that whatsoever

you sure they are a good thing to farm?

Oh yes, i can see the devs writing out some more nerfs right now. Thanks for giving them the heads-up!
Seriously, they do seem to be on a spoil-sport mission at the mioment. Maybe they like destroying the fun things which they create?
It's like inviting everyone to a party but telling them they can't eat or drink the stuff on the table, don't you think?

/endsarcasm

Divine boon gives you X amount of healing on top of every spell you cast on an ally.
With high divine favor, divine boon and orison of healing, you can heal for around 180 points.
All it costs is the 5 energy for orison, the 2 for the costs of casting while enchanted with divine boon and the -1 energy regen for maintaining divine boon.
It's good for short and intense battles and gets the health bars up quickly.

I reckon that Anet come to these forums and have got to the point where they've decided "you know what, they say we deliberately nerf areas, so lets nerf any area that someone says we are going to nerf. heck, they believe were out to spoil the fun to totally, why not make them be right"

I have had dealings with anet via email regarding loot and farming areas. and they have not been nerfed. they know where they are, what I kill, and what I am trying to get from them. it hasnt changed. although if I do it for long enough they do run low on loot. but that happens anywhere.

stop being so bloody paranoid about anet screwing with the loot. sure they change it a little here and there. but it they decrease the likelyhood of a particular type of loot from dropping by a small amount. in the end equation as to what is dropped of course it will have the possibility to not drop for a long time. the idea is not that you should go out and find that one mosnter that 100% drops gold armor. theres a loot system in place for a reason.

anyway. I quite like your setup. ill have to try that out. never really played with devine boon before

i got gold 1 fellblade and 1 falchion, 1 flamberge from about 3-4 hours of farming, as well as many other 2 gold raven staves. hmm.. its really up to you. From my point of view it's not easy to farm anywhere else and that the drop rate is not better anywhere else. Also, the drops depend on the level of the monster and trolls are lvl 24.

they don't need to see this post to realise that lotsa ppl are farming trolls atm. just go to drognar's forge (any dist) and stand at Talus Chute exit. you can see many ppl stream past you continuously. i'm sure the server programming can detect intense activity in that cold cave in Talus chute.

about divine boon, i'm not worried about the energy consumption because i gain 10+ energy per hit( in a grp of 8 trolls). the energy degeneration is much less a problem. you should give it a try really.

you need to equip a +27 energy offhand and if better if you can have a cesta/cane/trucheon +15 energy -1 energy regen. i have also tried with a shield and +15 energy deadly cesta, which has no issues at all. 20 trolls can be brought down in less than 30sec.

no weapon attribute.

well, you can be a monk like i said, this thread is for W/Mo or Monk because most ppl are playing w/mo-s.

but it needs more attention to keep your monk alive from the troll's power attacks.

divine boon(no recharge, no cast time) is spammed to utilise the ability of zealot's fire. check them out

I changed this build around a little bit for E/mo. Now i have 4x more mana and 2 more regen pips. I replaced sprint with windbourne speed, shield stance with ward against melee. Anyway, i die really fast...

You need Mark of Protection rather than Divine Boon.

Divine boon would not help the War/Mos. It's dependent on divine favor. This build is too energy dependent for warriors in general...

booooo!!! That was my uber-secret-farming spot, now that it's out there though.. (booo!! )

Mo/X

Healing: 9+1 (rune)
Smiting: 12+3 (rune)
Protection: 6+1 (rune)
Divine Favor: 7+2 (rune, scalp design)

Balthazar's Spirit
Zealot's Fire
Divine Boon
Healing Touch
Balthazar's Aura
Symbol of Wrath
Mark of Protection

Zealot's Fire before you engage them, Mark of Protection when they get around you or a few of them start whacking you, then Balthazar's Aura, then Symbol of Wrath, then spam Divine Boon, if they disrupt it (they use Disrupting Chop), Healing Touch to kill the last few, (or Balthazar's Aura may be recharged by then). I never die unless I forget to cast Zealot's Fire, haha..

I've been farming them for gold, but once in a blue moon I get a rare Shield, got an awesome rare Runic Hammer once, too...

booo!

He doesn't have high divine favor because he's a Wa/Mo, gg. He's got 1 pip of regen and all his monk skills cost 2 more on perhaps 27+17 energy. If you're intent was to say Boon is too good of a skill it isn't. You really need to know what you are doing when you use that skill or you'll easily destroy your energy pool and become utterly useless as a monk. Personnally I think it's good as it is, nerf it and people will cry, buff and people will complain.

So why not use Draw Conditions instead ? It's got no recharge and won't cost you -2 energy for every skill you use on yourself.

P.S.: why isn't this thread in Gladiator's Arena Forum anyways ?

Atlan998, are you trying to waste our times while you are farming in another, much sweeter spot? I think I know what is the other spot you are farming right now...

Anyways this troll farming might be the best farming place before the patches, but not anymore. I just checked this spot after he posted. Every run is about 10 minutes. On average, each run gives about 500-600 golds. I make much more gold from selling items with a 6-ppl party/1-hour run in the underworld.

lol @ people thinking farming spots get nerfed when people mention them on forums. ArenaNet was able to single out and ban the people who used the augury rock mirror exploit over and over back when it was useable, do you really think they can't figure out popular farming spots by doing the same?...

Riggght...

Every run takes me 3 minutes, 1 minute to run there and setup, 20 seconds to kill all the trolls, and the rest of the time opening up the 2 chests. On average about 1k per run not including the random goodies.

However they have already nerfed this place. It used to drop nothing but fellblades, now it drops nothing but raven staves =/

Riiiiiiight...

This place is nerfed like you said. You only do 30k in 30 mins that's it ?
