The Gwen thing has been done a million times

but I'm seriously hoping someone will have an answer soonish...I gave gwen the flute and the cape and the flower in pre-sear...and she gave me a tapestry shred...that I have been holding onto. I found her broken flute in post-sear...I found her cape in post sear...I have the tapestry shred that she gave me in pre....does anyone have any idea what the use of this crap might be??

yes, you give it to her mother in post searing (its toward the end of the game) and it does something or other (never done it myself, my sister told me about it).

As far as I know its still just a broken quest. As long as its been broken, I dont think fixing it's much of a prioity.

EDIT:: post above me states otherwise, can someone confirm?

You know.. I have a three year old daughter... I hate to watch that part of the searing movie. Have to skip it.

btw, i got the shred without ever giving gwen anything other than the flute quest item... and then she has the cape on her...

You pick up her broken flute, and ripped girls cap post-searing and way later.
I don't think Arena.net would leave a glaring broken quest but the 1st part of a quest that has finished, example in the next expansion.

The way it's been implemented and not done anything with screams to me a plan by the developers to see who bothers to do it in pre and reward the people going along the plot later in an yet unanounced quest / future expansion.

It has to be for a future something.. Also isn't Gwens mother one of the Ghost in the Underworld?

yeah.. you give it to the mom's ghost in the underworld for a quest i think..... i didn't get the shred with my ranger and im still trying to get gwen to cough up her plea for a flute with my elementalist...

I just bought the flute without her asking, same with the cloak.. if you have it she seems to see it and ask for it.

You don't have to wait till Gwen gives you the flute quest. I didn't have to give her a cape, or flute. I just gave her 5 flowers and everything was cool.

beautiful feather = 1 of 3 items you would need to give to complete the gift for althea quest. oh wait.. don't listen.. since I maybe giving false information. xeno probably thought that I was responding to the original poster and saying that the shred is for that specific quest. when in fact I was responding to your post.

it is a broken quest. at this point there is nothing to do with the tapestry shred.

firstly the 3 beautiful items are found on the land around ... the shell, the feather, and the pearl. One is north in ashford abbey moa pen, the second is in a chest just west of the raiders up the hill on the road connecting the raiders and ascalon ... the 3rd is on the shores by the water wheel/.

Poor, etheral, gwen's mom. Since you only encounter her in a non linear part of the game, I think there might be an update concerning these items.
