with an Intel® 852/855 Chipset? (1ghz+ or equilivance with 512mb of ram)
If so, what are your settings and does it run smoothly on that setting or do you experience extreme lag?
I'm planning but buy GW but this is the only concern stopping me from doing so.. if anyone could clear things up for me it'll be greatly appreciated

The minimum is 800Mhz, so I doubt you wouldn't be able to play.
With 512 MB RAM, you should be fine. What kind of graphics card is your notebook running?
I've seen other places that people have played on notebooks as well, so you should be all set to go.

My 852/855 is problematic with inventary because clicking on items causes error almost _every_ time an error in ialmrnt.dll/ialmdd5.dll blocking the game or giving blue screen.

I am having the same problem with my intel 828/855 card....I posted something similar to this a little farther up the forum. If anyone can find a fix for this, pleaseeeeeee let us know...it is killing this otherwise wonderful game.

well, this just in from tech support: "on review, your computer does not meet the specifications to play guild wars." so, if your computer has the the intel 828/855 card you're basically SOL. unless somebody comes up with a workaround.....

I tried it with the intel driver 4.11 and 4.10. But with both i had problems. Than i thought let's try the videocard driver of my own supplier. This is an even older driver than the previous two, but now i can play guild wars error free. Since this new driver it has not yet crashed. I can use my invetory and everything.
So choosed the s5000 series laptop. Than i choosed the s5n. And than the first vga driver in the list. Also a direct link:

I'm on my laptop with an Intel Extreme II 82852/82855 Card. When i installed GW it told me my Graphics card do not conform , but i ignored it anyway. The game runs fine without that inventory problem.
I'm using Drivers version 6.14.10.3943 [I got it from Intel's Site in January somewhere].
I believe the latest drivers version is 14.11 , which i haven't installed.

like/silvertemplar, could you post the link where you got the driver from please i'm having trouble still as i cant find the exact driver. Keep getting the blue screen of death. I'm using the Intel 855GM graphics card, if anyone has a solution to this problem please let me know. Thanks

Most intel video chip sets lack real 3d acceleration. In most cases Intel chipsets are geared to running office style application like Word or Excel. While you will be able to run the game you will more then likely have lots of fun hiccups. I believe this has more to do with the video drivers and chipset then the game itself. As most games now a days are geared toward ati and nvidia based systems that rely heavily on some sort of full Direct3d Compliance. While Im aware that some of the intel chipsets are compliant from experience most of them lack the hardware to make the compliance useful.

The 852/855 is actually quasi-DX9. I say quasi, cause it's not fully there, but those should run it fine.
And a 1 GHz Pentium M is roughly equivalent to a 1.7 P4. Architecture redesign.

Well the case is the laptop is my girlfriend's and i was trying to get it to work so we can play it together (I have pci-express desktop with AMD64 and geforce6600GT so no problem there :P). Her laptop is fairly new its a fujitsu, with Intel Centrino 2Ghz and 512 DDR ram and 852/855 graphics. At the moment I'm trying the driver posted by Jurrit and weirdly enough its working....its an older driver but it works for now (computers are odd things...)!

Oh, and the Intel website is hard to navigate, so just get this one, read the readme.txt to make sure you have one of the listed chips, and install it.

I run the game very nicely at 1280x800 (that is a 16:10 widescreen resolution) with medium quality settings and AA forced (because aliasing problems piss me off)

Unless you're in a icebox I suggest not playing GW on a Laptop/Notebook.
Since most notebooks have poor ventilation/cooling its going to heat up faster then a oven in there.

not in my laptop. It gets hot ya, but put ur comp on a table and u should be fine. Mine get about 141 hd degrees tops.

My laptop with P4 3.06GHz 512MB RAM and Geforce FX5200Go can handle GW fairly decently, sure it gets hot but it never gets close to overheating just because I clear the dust off the fans every now and then.

I run the game on the 3rd level of graphics which is the recommended when I click the recommended button and have no problems what-so-ever.

Its runs fine for me on a Dell Latitude 110L Celeron M 1.3 with 768MB RAM.
The Intel integrated GMA 900 inside the 910GML chipset actually runs quite well at 1024x768 medium quality textures. Just make sure you use the PV14.9 drivers, as the 14.11 drivers seem to bluescreen.
The 852/855 might be a little lacking, as they use the older Intel Extreme/2 for video (about half the speed of the Intel GMA 900) but you may be able to squeak by at 800x600 low quality textures if you have an 855. The 852 was the low end version of the 855, so I would say it probably won't be acceptable for gameplay.
BTW: Just finished Hells Precipice.. So I guess I'm finished the PVE, except maybe the temple of ages.

I could definetly use some advice here. The game runs extreme choppy at any graphic setting for me (especially in battles), and seems to overheat quite a bit. (although canned air has rectified this situation a bit). I could play WoW, shadowbane, anarchy online, daoc, asherons call 1 and 2 and various FPS shooters with this laptop at default settings... I'd like to play this game the best my computer will do it, but it doesn't seem to be playing seamlessly regardless of how low the settings are.

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook S, 2GHz centrino 1GB ram & Intel GMA 915 with the newest drivers same problems with the bluescreen while using salvage kits and messin around in the inventory.

Intel has a game compatability site for laptop graphics chipsets http://www.intel.com/products/laptop...chips_body+lap, which tells you what to do if the game isn't 100% compatible.
I had to roll my graphics drivers back to play successfully.
