Farming with a War/Ele
natemast
I have a level 17 warrior/elementalist. I keep getting destroyed when I try to solo farm. I know that everyone has their own build strategies and I was hoping to get some ideas/hints from anyone who has this build or a good idea about how to build it well. I am using Fire as my elemental skills right now since I like conjure flame with for my Fiery Dragon Sword.
Currently, I'm using:
Conjure Flame
Frenzy
For Great Justice
Sever Artery
Gash
Healing Signet
Lava Font
Sprint
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What are you farming? The build seems viable enough, but if you're tackling specific monsters, you need specific skills. If it's giants you'll need dolyak signet, if it's griffons then gladiators defence helps, etc.

I'm just having problems farming at all honestly. I am farming mostly for XP at this point. I just want to get my character up to level 20 quickly. I was farming the Mergoyles outside of Gates of Kryta but now they are only givein me 18 XP per kill so its going a little slow. I can't seem to find a good spot to solo farm for XP to get my character up to level 20 fast enough!!!

I never played as a Warrior.. but you may look at the Earth skills. There is an armor skill that gives you lot of armor bonus and some skills that deal heavy damage. Or you may look at water skills, Armor of mist and some of them will make your opponent dizzy, blind or something. May give you a chance to solo them.
Fire is great at damage.. but won't help you survive in a long fight. In fact, it's all balance, Fire deals a lot of damage, make the fight shorter.. but water / earth gives you more resitance and you may survive longer.. if you want to stay in fire, look at Flame Burst, Phoenix and Inferno (I think) they deal lot of damage in one shot, and I think it would be more effective than Lava font (which I never used).

Pheonix, Meteor storm, and Inferno are infinitely better than fire storm or lava front. But I like Air for Farming, Whirlwind, Chain Lightning, Enervating Charge, Lightning Strike, Lightning Orb, Air Attunement, Aura Restoration, and Ether Renewal work very well together. (Although Attunemnet, Aura restoration and Ether Renewal would work better with Stone Daggers or Flare). (I am a Elementalist Primary so this doesn't really help W/E and is a little of topic).

I seem to be fine against foes who attack melee (but not elemental). I am a Warrior/Ele but primarily for knockdown. I use hammer/earth magic and use skills such as ward against melee (to survive). But since you're not a hammer user, we won't be using the same warrior skills. But I suggest Earth magic for farming as it provides good defense and devastating attacks for knockdown builds
EDIT:: Oh and gladiator armor is probably your best choice for the additional energy.

Phoenix and Inferno I do have. I like the area effect of Lava Font. Knocks everyone around me down for a few points and makes them easier to clean up after I get the first couple of creatures out of the way. Maybe Flame Burst WOULD be a better idea??

I often use fire storm and meteor shower.. when the ennemy are knocked down by my meteor, they cannot run from my fire storm.. usually...

Is Earth magic going to be as effective for me though since I am using Sword??? What build would you suggest for a sword/earth magic warrior/ele then?

Back to the build issue. So does anyone have a complete build in mind that they would use for the war/ele setup?? Definitely looking at sword but magic type is open. I guess I'm most interested in Fire or Earth based on the above posts but I'm open for any suggestions. What skill set would you use and how would you distribute your attribute points?

Each mission gives you 1k xp + skill point.
Bonus from mission is another 1k xp.
Do you have the collectors gear from the desert? or draknor armor yet?
as a level 20, in the hlvl areas.
in a group of 8, you can get 18xp per kill
in a group of 4, you can get 48xp per kill
solo 148 per kill.

No, I haven't ascended yet. I am working on Draknor armor but haven't had enough time to farm for cash yet. Its amazing how much that stuff costs!!! I'm using armor-50 gladiator armor right now for the extra energy points it gives. Actually I'm kind of annoyed that the REALLY cool looking Platemail armor that I WANT doesn't give any energy. Personally I think that the Gladiator armor looks kind of weak but the Draknor Gladiator armor gives 80 armor PLUS 8 eneregy which is nice for this build. I wish there was a way to get the Platemail PLUS the energy. Oh well

The reason for asking is after you ascended regular white items sell for 50 gold each and up. It makes it easier to make money. Also you should check the warrior collector in the desert for its stats for warrior. For monk the collector set was better than anything available until draknor's.
FYI if you are at kryta you still have half the map to discover

sounds to me like you are a n00b rusher. stop thinking about getting XP and play the damn game
goto Photics.com get their guides on doing the bonus's.. do all them.
all these hints and tips people are giving they have learnt through playing it.. if you dont play the game properly, and learn each skill and learn builds then you could have the most experience points in the world... you will still be a n00b rusher.
sorry to be blunt.

At risk of this turning into a flame forum. Yes, I probably am a noob rusher if that's what you would like to call it. I just play this with my brothers for fun. Not trying to do PvP or anything like that. We just live in separate states and like to get on a few times a week to play. Just trying to get my level up so I can have more fun bashing things!!

A rusher will try to get to the end as fast as possible.. this guy is taking is time and tries to be lvl 20 before the desert ! I don't consider that as rushing... Some of my guildmate went from ascallon city to droknar's to get there armor.. that is rushing !
the forum is a place to ask questions, and it's what he did, and I'm glad to answer, if you find that thread useless, just don't read it.
By the way.. sorry to sound angry or .. rude or anything else.. I didn't want it.. but I'm not native-english and even if I do my best, I don't sound as I feel everytime..

Isn't it a little much to try to use BOTH earth AND air for your character build? Why did you select this particular set up. Probably inexperience speaking but why split your points between TWO magic sets?

You could use Earthquake instead of Whirlwind, to have one less attribute (unless you just put stuff in air, becaus it couldn't go anywhere else).

STILL no one has given any really good locations of enemies easy to kill for a level 17 with my build to gain XP. Like I said earlier, the mergolyles outside of Gates of Kryta were and are easy to kill but since they are level 12 they don't give many XP anymore. Any good places to solo farm for XP where I won't get killed after about 2 monsters??? Thanks.
Lioren
The quick answer: there aren't too many outstanding places to "farm" for XP. "Grind" would be a more accurate term, since farming usually deals with drops and loot. At any rate, good XP is had MUCH quicker, faster, and in a more fun manner by simply playing through the missions and quests. Finishing a quick mission and getting a good 1k handed to you at the end, along with the XP gained from having to kill the mobs to complete it in the first place, is a lot more rewarding than smashing mobs endlessly.
Don't worry about your level. You'll find that your level is always about what it needs to be, whereever you find yourself, if you simply do all the available quests and missions. I'd never found myself feeling as if I was somehow missing out on content or fun because I wasn't high enough a level-- whatever was too high for me was somewhere on the map that I hadn't gotten to anyway.
