Tengu Henchie gives me the creeps
fgarvin
Who hasn't been freaked out the first few times you hear the Tengu "grunt"?
There I was, my first few minutes in the game and all of a sudden I'm being swarmed by one of the most feared mobs in all of GW...the Tengu. Well, that lasted for about a second until I remembered that I had one as a Henchie. But I swear each time he grunts is check my radar, looking for the attacking flock of birdies.
As bothersome as it can be, I love it.
Good Job ANet.

Heh, I was surprised to see the Tengu henchmen too, and it is kind of weird hearing it make noises while it runs behind you.
But I agree, I like that henchie, because we know how annoying Tengu can be, and it's nice to have one on our side.

Eldin
I get annoyed the first few times I hear it chirp, too. Makes me think that the Tengu came all the way from Kryta to give me "hugs".
Theos
I personally like hearing him make his noises... atleast you know he is alive, unlike the other completely silent henchmen who... well just sit there like statues. He even breathes!
The real cherry ontop of this cake is that he is a good henchman. Unlike some other... less worthy ones.

Rancour
I think the Kurzick armadillo/badger monsters are creepy. And they look slightly too primitive to be "henchie material".
MelechRic
I'm not too thrilled with the Necro henchmen for the Kurzick. They look like they could go on a diet. Overall, the whole Rot Wallow thing is creepy to me. They look like they'll pop at any moment and spew their guts everywhere.
fgarvin
A little off topic, but the Interrupter Henchie rocks.
Random Scrubinator
I love the uniqueness of the wallow and tengu henchmen, but they really should not spread disease to human players
EternalTempest
I love the Tengu henchmen and was very surprised to see it.
I too keep thinking I just aggro something when he grunts even though there is zero red around my aggro bubble

Fluffyx
Same thing happened to me. I forgot I picked him up. All of a sudden I hear that well known call. I look around and see a tengu! I click him but I cant attack him, then I notice his bars green and I felt stupid. :[

Lol. The tengu hench is a pleasant surprise. Maybe it is just a filler for a new skin they are adding though, who knows?

I was like "Damn you stupid tengu, shut up!" last night after awhile, it was getting annoying, and after all the trouble those baseturd birds gave me... I have some slight hate issues, I know... -_-;

I sure don't, those Avicara soloed the Titans for me. Syr comes to mind as he went through a nice chunk of titan for me :P Then I killed him and capped... I am great hu?

Talon Silverwing is cool and all, but I prefered the Guardian hench since he contributes more to the group, imo. Shields Up!
Lord Iowerth
I agree with the OP (and I do enjoy the non-human hench, that's very neat) but yeah ... when i'm running, and that bird is right behind me grunting ... I have a hard time remembering he's on my team ... i've even clicked on him once or twice and hit an attack skill, just out of habit

I love Tengu/Avicara! Best race in GW! ^___^

Evil Pidgeons...
After racking up endless DP at the hands of the Avicara Fierces' Ignite Arrows-spamming, I don't think my paranoia will ever allow me to befriend Mr. Silverwing...
And yes, I do agree with Guardian Henchman > Pidgeon Henchmen.

My favorite hench? The ranger interruptor hench ... he is pretty good at nailing all those 1 second cast spells
Rayne Nightfyre
Nice, I love the addition of these interrupting henchmen. My favorite one is the Domination one (can't remember the name). Much more useful than Dunham or Reyna!
Although it's probably just lucky timing, I've been pretty impressed at the reaction time of these interrupters. It's about time we have some Rockshot Devourers on our side! (Referring to the antagonists of the former Griffon farming runs)

kurviks have these small crature henchies too, yea I got freak too. lol
Lelani
Tengu hench isn't anything special, it's just Stefan in a bird man suit, and yeah, the interrupter henchies really do rock.
Age
Aren't you lucky Luxons to get them.I played it for awhile and it surprised me for awhile.I switch to Kurzick and we got Devona,Aiden,Cynn and Eve.They know what side is good.

Evil Dinosaur Hench>Tengu Hench
I really like the idea of non-human henches...especially if all the new monsters decide EoE bombing should be their flavor of the month

His noise is quite bothersome. However, equally so is the crab pet noise. However, both have a plus side. The crab running at your enemies sideways kills me everytime and the tengu henchie is huge, adding a feeling of security in your hench.
Poison Ivy
As long as he doesn't leave bird droppings...

Still think avicara henchie is awesome
Pinna
Do you think he'll be one of those henchies who is there all the way through the game; Stefan stylee? Or one who joins at a later point; Devona stylee?
Also, don't let your defenses drop...when you come up against real Avicara and you hear *that* noise...don't forget to attack

.. like others, the tengu henchman--while I appreciate him--terrifies me with his chirp. I, too, am trained to respond with a radar check when I hear the tengu, and I have to constantly remind myself that, hey, he's on your team this time, not demolishing it. ;P

For my money, I'm just impressed that Anet made such a compelling -and such a dangerous- enemy as the Tengu. Even when they're on your side, you can't help watching your back.
I think it's because the Mineral Spring Tengu really were designed nicely- Fierces are one of the meaner creatures in the game, and can even kill 55 monks with a ignite arrow dual shot or two. Those bastards get some genuine feeling out of me. If Factions can bring that feeling to the game, and improve on it...PvE should be a barrel of monkeys.

Hah, I did the same thing when I ran outside with him the first time. I'm running along, I hear that grunt, and I'm like, "What the heck?!" Look at my radar; nothing. Hear it again. . . . "Oh yeah, the tengu henchie." Felt a bit silly after that one.
I also <3 the domination henchie. Interrupts are so nice.

Now that FPE is over I am going to miss the chicken... and no Stefan is not like the chicken, heck the chicken can actually kill things. I am going to go to Mineral Springs and try to charm me a bird :P
