Deleting a character you played for hours

Deleted my old W/Mo (400 Hours). I started her over so that I would just have something to do until factions, and I ended up doing everything within a couple of days, but now i have fissure, so there is no turning back now.

Deleted an ele after about 100 hours on it. I just couldn't find a nitch for her as the spells just didn't have the "punch" I thought they should have. My mesmer out damaged her -
She was fun though, I just obviously wasn't any good at the class. heh

My first character, Necro. She was great, but I'd done so much with her and I wanted to try out the other two character classes. I want to bring her back, but I face the problem of fitting 3 characters in 2 character slots when Factions comes out.

hmm over the past 11 months i have made and deleted around 20 lvl 20 chars cycling between the 6 classes for a total of over 1000 hours on deleted chars including a 300 hour old ranger and a 150 or so monk, i just get bored with chars easily...

Haven't really deleted anything I've put much work in yet.
Haven't been playing around GW for too long, so I'm kinda still using my first character mainly.
But I've deleted at least 5 different characters I spent about 2 hours on each, just out of pure boredom.

My guild calls me the 'delete button queen'.
The hardest one for me to ever delete was my lvl 20 necro. I had finished the game with her and hubby wanted his slot back on his account..sooooo..she had to go. Sad, sad day. I am now working on another necro, so all is not lost!!

So I deleted her and that made way for my now lv20 mesmer which unlike any of my other characters... has actually beaten the game.

Level 12 Necro/Mes... cause she was boring. I had only played like, 30 hours on her since June, and she was still languishing in Yak's Bend. Even deleting that much time was hard. But I did.
I made a Mes/Monk instead. I wanted a Mes/Necro but I realized that I wouldn't get into any groups - or I would, but without enough frequency to satisfy me. So far he's had about 30 hours played on him. And he's in Yak's Bend.
Oh well. He's more fun, what little I play(ed) of either of them.

My first character was a ranger so there is some sentimental value with my first character. After I got to Ember Light Camp, I made my second character, an elementalist. Basically, in my free time, I had that character farm XP from the River Drake. It got boring, so I made my third character, a monk. This was my favorite character and I played it for a long time. I went heal/protect to boon/protect to bonding. Then, I used my fourth character slot for PvP (mostly monking) while still using my PvE monk. Off and on, I'd come back to my elementalist and ranger, but most of my time was spent with a monk. Then came ToPK and my ranger was given new life in Barrage/Pet builds. At that time, there was a lull in PvP, so I really wanted to create a necromancer because I could fill a lot of roles in the end game. I sacrificed my PvP slot (didn't lose any investment though) for the time being. When it was time to PvP again, I needed to delete my elementalist. By this time, I was somewhere in the Northern Shiverpeaks. I am a packrat, so I had to get rid of a lot of junk (I sacrificed a ton of collector items). Of course I was not smart enough to sell everything I owned on that character and put the gold from that character into storage so I figured I lost like 5-10k with that blunder and a lot of time invested in that character (although elementalist are just boring right now).

I have deleted- my very first char a lvl 13 N/w....the play style just wasn't working for me...was hard to delete her..I liked the name. So I remade her as a w/? I had a lvl 14 R/mo got bored..so i deleted her. Had a lvl 9 Ele/mo (she ended up being a mule...desperate need for storage)...I eventually deleted her and made a Me/mo...don't play her often...but she's probably not going anywhere...she has 15k dyed black..and I love it.
The husband was talking about getting rid of the very first toon he made...w/? a few weeks ago..and I just couldn't let that happen...so we finally decided to get a 2nd account. I'm somewhat attached to that lil bugger......Having a major issue right now....my w/? is my absolute fav char...(the only one I have finished the game with) and we are due to get a 2nd puter shortly (hooray!)...but she's on the account that has his fav chars on it...so I assume I will be using the 2nd account when we get the new puter. I will not delete her. EVER. He wouldn't want me to delete her anyhow...but I guess I need to bite the bullet and make another W...so that we can play at the same time...using the char's we enjoy the most. It just won't be the same though. Sniffle... sniffle... Wish I could copy n' paste her or something. LOL Sorry if I got a little off topic there...just seems like a lot of people have had to delete chars due to space and 2nd accounts etc.

Accidentally deleted??? That right there is no easy task.
When the invinci built came out, I put all my time and energy into my monk. Then just before I ascended, they nerfed the build and I was so pissed I dumped him on the spot. Im now regretting it.

2035 total hours played, 1178 on current characters = 857 hours of deleted play time.
My PvP only playtime is negligible, 15 minutes perhaps.
I have deleted a level 20 ranger, level 20 necro, level 20 monk, countless other (not level 20) warriors, rangers, necros, mesmers, elementalists, and monks. I should have just spent another few bucks for a second account. $50 is sure less than 857 hours of my time, that's for sure.

1) R/Me who made it all the way to THK before I realized I just didn't like playing a Ranger primary, partly because I could never find group (before the advent of Winter, trapper teams etc., when Rangers were almost as unwanted as Mesmers).
2) Mo/R who made it all the way to THK before I grew tired of monk abuse. No, I don't have to join everyone's party, no I don't have to take the blame for careless rushing, bad aggro, being given little recharge opportunity, etc.
and 3) the real heartbreaker was my E/Mo who finished the game, farmed UW and FoW, even did part of the Titan Quests, and was very much like an old friend by the time the AoE nerf basically obliterated any fun I had in a profession that already had some big strikes against it (low armor level, exhaustion...). The day I deleted her, I basically stripped everything she was carrying, attempted to salvage my Superior Vigor rune out of her armor (and got tanned hides instead ), and then took her out to the oceanside cliffs on the way to the lighthouse in Lion's Arch, took a few last screenshots before she jumped....
Was like saying a final goodbye to an old friend. Much of the Factions Preview weekend was spent seeing if the new additions to Earth Eles would interest me enough to try to rebuild her, and I think the answer is still no.

I actually just lately remade a former W/Mo I had spent 300 or so hours on before deleting it a few months ago. Do I regret it? Hardly. I guess I just got bored with it since all I used it for was farming and such. Now that I'm broke I need another farming build.

My first monk: He was a tough one to let go. Finished game, UAS, etc etc., and 15k Saintly Armor. More importantly, he was there during the prime of UW Monk Soloing. 333 hours... gone.
And now more recently, my Necro: 100 hours on him, finished missions, and got him two 15k sets. Only real reason I deleted him was to open up a slot for the FPE.
(yea yea I couldv'e imvited myself, but didn't want to).
Although these three have passed on into the Rifts, there is always new life to follow. I've since then remade my Warrior and Monk, and they're all done. Except now they're female. ^_^ Of course, then again I'll probably be rerolling my monk AGAIN just to get those new hairstyles for her once Factions hits shelves.

Only character i've ever deleted was an Ele ... who, in addition to being in my 4th slot and not having any 15k, was uglier than the south end of a northbound horse.
I now have a nice PvP only slot for my primary account. I could have done it on the 2nd account, but why waste all those unlocks?

Once I murdered a level 14 warrior with like 50 hours of playtime to make room for my Mesmer. 50 hours was bearable in relation to my total playtime (which is approaching the 3,000 hour mark now)...
I don't think I could ever delete any character I have beaten the game with, though.

I just deleted all 4 of my characters, 3 of which were lvl 20. I'm starting over fresh with new names and faces and extra slots for factions. Even though I invested 100's of hours in these characters, I just got sick of them. I've been playing since beta and have run out of things to do that keep my interest. I've realized that it's silly to hold on to things, especially video game characters. A fresh start is just what I've needed. Bring on Factions!

Well, it's not really one character, but I estimate that I have spent over 100 hours total trying to bring various PvE warriors through the game. I'll make one, play it for a day or 2 and then get bored with it/forget about him and delete him before he gets out of old ascalon. This has happened at least 10 or 11 times so far.

Today I deleted my ele, with a little over Million xp, and most skills unlocked, stripped him down and sold all the stuff(full Ragos set for 50k, guys was selling it 2 minutes later for total cost of 115k(good luck sucker WTS for hrs).Only lost one sup energy rune, on 3 sets of armor, 2 sup vigs salvaged woot. 400 hrs on him, but I was never playing him anymore, I mastered the ele as much as I desired too, so moving on to other 'toons, Currentley have ascended Rngr, Monk, and just started a warrior. Last slot is for my PvP 'toon of which I re roll a couple times a day if Im PvP'ng. I must say the elementalist has very nice undies, with a nice trim around the seams. Life is too short too hang onto these characters like they actually mean something(not saying 'your' 'toons mean nothing too you, maybe they do).

I deleted my first elementalist, had around 50 hours on him. Being a nuker got boring real fast, but I kept finding groups, so I kept playing. Then I decided his name sucked, so deleted he was. Started another elementalist about 4 months ago, which I am much happier with now.
I almost deleted my warrior, because I didn't know you could change secondaries in the desert after ascension. Hadn't spent too much time on her, but the thought of remaking her after carefully 'designing' her was too much to bear.
