I really enjoy all my characters. I'm even liking my warrior and I didn't think I would. My ranger is my go to guy though. If I can't get something done with my other characters my ranger can damn sure do it.

Most people think im weird, but for me my monk > all. my ranger was a close second, but sadly wanted to build a dif char and deleted her. my assassin was lots of fun over the BETA event, so i cant wait to build another one.
Silent Kitty
I like to play monk the most. I heal and cure. A really no-brainer
The real challenge comes when you have to keep on running back and forth, to heal everybody. Also, a monk needs nerves of steel, not to panick when fighting skeleton dragons in a poison pool. As soon as you shout "Get out the poison!!! or Stay together!!!!", already 2 players are dead. So I just keep on doing what I have built the character for.
As soon as I get used to the fact that some just can't be healed, Monk is very relaxed profession.

My warrior is my farmer now, basically my cash cow.
I have loads of fun with my necro and take her into ToA all the time even if I have to fend off 55 solo monks with strange names who are trying to lure me into UW so they can rip me off.
My mesmer goes to ToA as well, and doesn't get harrassed as much.
My monk is called upon by my guild regularly to get through missions and I take her into the FoW when I just want to go as everyone seems to want a healer.
My ranger is fun as well, but I don't play with her much any more, and my ele has been on the shelf for months.

Here's my guess -- we're all going to enjoy the character that we understand the best.
For instance, with me, I enjoy playing w/x ... changing the secondary to suit the task. Part of th enjoyment results from what I've learned on this site (free plug, smile) ... that's why things haven't gotten stale for me even after 7 months of the game. The game wouldn't still be fun if I did all farming, or all PvE or all PvP. New stuff is fun because it's difficult ... sounds weird but I enjoy things more if I have to learn and fail a bit before mastering something.
Right now, I've trying to improve on my solo efforts with the spiders in FOW (courtesy of the excellent guide here).

for me, its different for pve vs pvp.
right now in pve
monk>ele>warrior>ranger>necro>mesmer
and in pvp(im learning to play monk in pvp much better now, so its moved way up the list)
ele>monk>ranger>warrior>necro>mesmer
monk and ele are pretty much my favorite classes to play overall, and when i play ele in pvp its mostly utility/support. i love keeping my team healthy and alive pretty much. some people think im weird for that, but i enjoy it.

probably my Ranger and Mesmer.
I hated being a monk, and being an Ele.
My warrior is basically for farming/running now and i never really liked explored Necros outside of pvp.

for me, i used to like monk the most..but i have played monk too much..and moreover, in pvp, monk is just not stand there and heal because there are always a multitude of warrior and mesmer chasing after like heck wanting to bite your head..T.T..
right now, i enjoy mesmer the most..it is amusing to see when the warrior chase after you while you are on distortion..keke..

in order of creation,
mm n/mo-love this char as i can have fun creating my own little army and she keeps me busy as,unlike most other chars, she can't take a break because she needs to constantly mantain her army while everyone else can just stroll to the next battle.also can't wait to take her to cantha for the new minnions and finaly an elite specificaly for the mm's about time
.
self sustaining w/mo-probably my most used char and currently my only char with full completion.love the self sustaining aspect as it keeps me alive generaly longer than most and takes a lot of pressure of the monks in my teams.i use this char now mostly for farming and helping guildies/newbies with quests, missions and advice.(side-note this will be my first char to visit cantha on the 24h headstart)
mixed build r/me-don't use this 1 much anymore because i got bored of all aspects of the current ranger(i.e. trapping, poison and beastmaster).althougth she will be going on holiday to cantha to trade in her spider for a white tiger or the new special pet(i'm praying for a reticulated python or a liger-hope gaile was off traking about there being no ligers).and would like to use her more if the pet system ever gets the long over-due overhaul.
renewel nuke e/mo-once a contender for my favourite char but sadly hardly used since the aoe nerf
.maybe one day she will make a triumphant return).
full heal mo/w-i must conform to being a fighter rather than a support but was extremely surprised how easy i learnt to use this guy,and how quickly i got through the game with him.was very refreshing to sit back for a change and to have so much self inflicted responcibility*(mind went blank on that word
)to keep as many alive as possible.also strangly i never came across the same stigma i have heard other monks refer to.(except 1 case where i was said to be a "s**t noob monk" in hells because i couldn't keep every one alive when they charged 2 groups,4 sparks-2 burning-1 risen, and decide to seperate all round my range circle, but then i help another group straight after and finished them with 6 me being the only monk)
domination m/mo-only char not yet finished(maguma jungle at the mo).obviously not set the main build yet but having so much more fun with this char at the mo and finding it very difficult to understand why the mesmers lack the most in regard to respect.i guess not many of those who dis them realise just how powerful they can be when played well.
tried the ass and rit during the fpe and love the ass (which will be my first new creation).wasn't keen on the rit though but may change my mind in time with a proper playthrough.
p.s. sorry for the long post but i have a lot of chars and they all deserved a mention

I really love being a warrior. I've been one for almost 700 hours now and I also like playing monk to bring in the cash

cangeman
As of now I'm enjoying playing my necromancer. I used to play monk but I lost interest and stopped shortly after I reached 20 in the desert. I've been playing healing classes too long so necromancer is a welcome change of pace.

Please dont call me a noob but my wammo is so easy to use. Just stroll around on my own killing stuff. I have a strength based build as well which doesnt seem popular. It just suits my style of play all round-Run in-Make things bleed-Tank some hits-hit them some more-pick up drops. Im really working hard with my monk but PUG's make it hard. I always used to swear as another monk left the team but sadly I do understand now (although Im no leaver to the bitter end I say). I mean noone seems to want to wait for regen, they love to run so far deep into the battle that I have to stand amidst it to be affective then they bitch when it doesnt go there way. When Im my warrior I'll use self heals to ease the stress on the monks and if a monks in trouble I'll die to ensure all my heals go there way. Yeah I like my warrior for simplicity of play and flexibility I can tank, deal damage and heal people in emergencies. Its just a shame Im regarded as a noob for my choice
evilwoodelf
At firsted I loved my Wo/Mo, then he got a bit boring at lvl 14 so i made a Mo/N. Really cool cuz I am going to make it a 55HP if i cba
I also like necros so it was a good 2nd :P
Criminally Sane
Warrior for farming, ranger for.. everything else. Afking is done on minimonk.

Elle's my Fav to play with everything thing else in 2nd depending on what I'm doing
I love trying to make new elle builds that aren't normal....My E/W fasination is quite fun lately with "Shields up!" and the boost it got in one of the patches awhile ago...and been toying with alot of earth stuff lately..+armor is so fun with the right setup =)

Mo/Me -- go 10-12 in inspiration and take energy tap at the very least... if you can get by with no elite monk skills use Mantra of Recall and your energy issues should fade to nothing.
(I actually do understand having played a primary monk a few times... but so many monks don't seem to take energy management seriously)
Sagaris
Actually, the only two characters I play are my Ranger and my Warrior. I like melee classes, classes that do physical damage. Well, spells aren't me. I really like playing a Beastmaster, the fact that your pet is nearly invincible (he never gets attacked) and you hardly get attacked. And he does loads of damage!
kooldude
i mostly prefer my monk, iv explored in all classes, cept the ranger.. havnt explored there too much. i prefer my monk for sum obvious reason, 1 being im practicly wanted everywere ^^ i love the attention, 2nd i have the most flexability of farming,i can solo UW(need LOTS more practice tho...) farm trolls, griffins, minos, grawl, charr avicara when i feel like it, ice imps(not the IDS imps). so as u can see i can farm for money at very random spots, oh and u can never forget the ettins
, as for nrg managment for basic team healing i use many things, theres the necro elite "offering of blood" ez to use preety basic skill and there ele nrg storage elite wich give great nrg managment but alot of exhaustion, and last but not least mesmer skills
posibly the best nrg managment skills ever

I have necro, warrior, mesmer, and ele. I have to say, that playing necro is fun and enjoyable. You can create your own undead army and use diffferent spells and hexes to damage the enemies. You can use blood magic skills to increase the mana for other players. So many possible builds for necro, i wonder why that i didn't start a necro first !

Nickelocene
I'm playing all 6 characters now. I think I like the N the most at the moment for all the minions and fiends. Expecially when 4 of my fiends killed 3 Musaats (became 3 of my fiends later)
in Ice Caves of Sorrow mission. The second is the Monk. I just like the feeling after saving the day. Me seems to be the hardest in PVE IMO. I think I still need to know him better.

Ranger lately, Necro and Monk next

My favourite is playing W/A. Granted, I haven't tested all that much but being a warrior rocks for me and I love dual-wielding. I don't know why, but have a hard time wrapping my mind around casters; they aren't bad. They're just not my style. I prefere smashing things with weapons, getting my hands dirty. Necromancers are ok, with the whole army thing.
But I'm not good with casters.

I must admit, I'm a sucker for the Elementalists. Sure, they've got serious flaws, but really, they're just awesome. By far the most fun. Follow-up would be Mesmer, with Ranger trailing. Then Warrior and Necro bringing up the rear. That leaves Monk but since I've never played one I can't really judge.
As for Assassin and Ritualist... I see Ritualist fitting in just above ranger, and Assassin basically tying Warrior.

personally, i am a pro-fusion kind of person instead of pro-fission.
unfortunately, until the advent of room-temperature fusion, we're kinda stuck with fission, and the pro-fission dudes in Iran...
(Yes I understand the actual question, my favorite profession changes over time, currently, I am r/e, although I would like to switch to r/me at some point...)

A bit of context: I have 3 PvP-worthy PvE chars - ele, necro and monk. Recently got rid of my PvP slot to make a mesmer since I basically never play ranger and warrior only in some TA or alliance battle idiocy involving 4 wammos.
Fun: Mesmer > Necro >>>> Ele > Warrior > Monk >> Ranger
PvE:* Necro > Mesmer > Monk > Ele
PvP:** Necro > Monk > Ele > Mesmer > Warrior > Ranger
Farm: Ele > Necro > Monk (minos in elona reach ftw! If I actually manage to solo FoW with my nec, that will become more profitable and move up <.<)
*Ele is outclassed by SS pretty much everywhere and aspects of ele other than "NUKEOMG!!" are not very relevant in PvE. I never played the other two in PvE.
**Since I couldn't figure out a reasonable criteria, I just ranked classes by my skill with using them.

With the 4 I'm playing, it's hard to say which I like playing better, because I like playing them all.
Warrior - For just going out on my own and killing stuff. No Muss, no fuss, and no waiting to get into a group.
Monk - (healer) For when I'm feeling like grouping up with people quickly and need a change of pace.
Ranger - For sheer versatility, and doing B/P runs.
Mesmer - For the fun of foiling enemies efforts & making things easier on the rest of the party. My favorite to play, but also hardest one to get into a group. (Too many uninformed out there!)

My favourite profs are definetly Monk and Warrior but I do have fun playing Ranger and Necro.I really hate the Assassin now since Factions FPE in faction battles.I really prefer all of chapter 1 profs.

Ele and Monk in all things.
Rit looks good from the preview and may give that a spin w/ I pick up factions.

I like Necro in mostly everything.
Ranger for PvP. (also mesmer when I can figure out how to play with the thing -_-)

Warrior for... just to be able to run around with out TOO much fear of geting killed in a few seconds...
