I reckon it's possible. But dont beg because I hate that. People coming up to me as I stand there in all my shiny armour and fancy weapons and ask for gold!! Pah I say earn it. But then I do give gold away to others who I think deserve it or teach people where and how to farm. I think gold isnt a good judgement of the comunity as its easy to come by. Its time thats the big one. If someone is willing to give you time such as run you a long way for free then its the greatest gift in the world

I recently took all my troll tusks I had been saving and gave them to a collector and got lots of nice weapons! I then Gave them all to nice people! You only really need to check the thread about nicest things done in guild wars! The idea of a prize giveaway's nice to give to nice people but the idea of someone being nice for the sake of a prize isnt nice at all

If you think the community is selfish if they don't give you money then you're wrong. In my experience, the amount of people giving away free items and money to the poor is incredible, but if you think that people will give you enough free money to reach 1,000,000g, when you're on 28k already, for no reason at all, then I think you're slightly misguided.
I will play no part in giving away my hard earned money to some random rich fellow. And saying you're trying to run a research experiment isn't really going to help you.

There's a difference between being selfish and being reasonably cautious. I don't just give my credit card number to "charities" that call me on the phone and ask for it either. That doesn't make me selfish.
That said, I happily helped two teams through old quests I already finished last night, gave away a perfect bone staff, and gave a free ID kit to some lvl4 dude in Ascalon because I had bought two by mistake.

This isn't the way to test if there are selfish people in the community, as there are selfish people in ANY community. Go do some quests or missions, and talk about if the people you're with are selfish or unselfish.
