This is worse than an EBay Gold Farmer.

well i went pve and farmed. i joined a party in tombs PVE and there we went.
We reached the Hall of The Heroes
We killed the Darkness and each of the partymates were assigned each green drops.
They didnt pick their drops yet coz we were having difficulties fighting the mobs. When the assignment "expired" the party leader rushed in and took all the greens.
3 thumbs down for you, *** member.

Haha that was hell funny, the chat log. Thats what happens when you dont pick up your items. Doesnt matter if you were fighting, you could of just slid past and got your item, OR leave it and let someone like that guy pick it up.
Kwisatz_Haderach
Almost like the time i was in the new uw. We killed 1 of the darknesses which dropped a kole's torment and a victo's battle ax. However someone accidently aggroed an extra enemy groupand 6 of us died. The remaining 2 members ran away and eventually came back and rebirthed us. Meanwhile this guy is asking who gets the gold drops, so we decide that whoever they dropped for gets the drops. This guy somehow gets rezed first runs up grabs the ax and torment the quits. I however was smart enough to take a screenshot and caught him in the act. It was so much fun hearing his response when he heard he would be reported, " I only did it to RED ENGINE GORE ENGINE you guys off.". Needless to say, he returned the greens, and now has a permenant spot on my ignore list.

wow, i feel sry for the guy who got assigned the bulwark
Cymboric Treewalker
Well,... people like that really make the game not fun. You would think with visual proof you could post the guys name all over the place so no one else would play with him again.
just call me jimmy
I had thought Anet fixed that though, with making the drop last a long time under your name. Also now when you zone out, you get the unclaimed item box, like you get in the missions.
Anyway that's brutal what that person did. I would report him!! I doubt Anet will ban him, but i bet they will make his drops suck for awhile

I hope his computer crash and burn and his GW acount get stolen, come on for 1,5hour to 2 hour gaming for a green and then see some idiot get away with it? A good PVE player never do that and even if something good drops for him/her they just keep fighting and win the battle and if its finish get there own drops.
Killing your name with things like this is just not worth it. this is a game ffs play it right

assuming everyone in a random PUG will be honorable is a great way to be sorely disappointed. When in the last Tombs level and Darknesses are killed, take your first safe opportunity to grab your greens if the timer hasnt started. If it has, take your first opportunity safe or otherwise.
Another pointer: when you get near the Darknesses, leave 3 empty slots in your inventory so you don't have mess around with it while fighting.
This situation does not suprise me one bit. In fact I'd almost expect it. I suggest everyone have the same low expectations, so you won't be disappointed with your misplaced trust in PUGs.

Farin
That was your fault. Wheter you were fighting or not, you can't trust anyone. I would've picked them up and then either leave or keep on fighting, that's what you were there for anyway.
Arkantos
Same thing happened to me before, I was in 2 man UW as SS/SV and 2 ecto dropped for me. the 55 monk brings the aatxe to me and kills me. He waits for the ecto to be unassigned, takes them. he finally rez me and I said ones mine you said 50/50 and he just left.
EDIT: The thing is if you werent wealthy on gw, you'd probably do the same thing. The ppl could of picked up the items and then fight, which would of been the smart thing.

Too bad you can't report somebody for this. Besides bad sportsmanship there is nothing he has done wrong.

This is how I see it. I've been in alot of Farming groups. If
someone doesn't pick up their drops. Most likey that person
doesn't want it. So its up for grabs. Your there to farm. If
something drops for you. Go and pick it up. It's not gonna
kill you. It only takes a second to pick up the drop and continue
to attack the enemy.

That sucks man, but I'd wager whoever got rezzed first would have, at the least, been tempted. I agree with the people who said to just go get your item when it drops.
DFrost
The drop system could definitely use a rework. Not only may you not get your items, but the greediness of others can result in mission failure.
Last time when that almost happened I was doing Dunes of Despair. At the gate, before lowering the bridge we killed the few enemies on the other side with ranged attacks. They dropped two of those monstrous claw thingys, one on either side of the bridge. After lowering the bridge those who got the drops assigned to them were smart enough to not go get them since we were fighting. You'll probably see where this is going now. After the drops became free prey, both our tank and monk decided to make a run for it and get those cheap items, which almost resulted in a wipe. If there are people willing to screw up a mission just because of a low-priced items like those, imagine what they'll do for golds or greens?
The drop system should be changed, maybe so that you could get someone else's drop only if the player to which the item was assigned to, leaves. In that case the item would be randomly assigned to another player to prevent 3 people sprinting to the item, getting the rest of the party killed.

That guy has just exploited a flaw in the programming. I believe there is a rule about that. Anet has banned people for less.
Always be careful who you take with you as healer. Any healer has the opportunity to selectively let people die. When a healer stops healing, chances are that you all die. That way the healer gets all the drops, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Scout Master the best thing you can do about this is go on guild wars.com and submit these screen shots with a violation report and the date and time that this happened.
I'm not sure what actions they will take as they keep that to themselves but I know they take things like this seriously and if anything happens to him or not it will help them to see that this needs to be fixed.
Also you still have all of the other party members names in your screen shots so you should contact them and have them do the same type of reports
no room for people to act that way in a game but rest assured Karma is a bitch and will visit him soon

That's unlucky, but as previous posters have said, you should pick up your drops as soon as you can. Unfortunately you can't trust every PUG member to do the honourable thing and leave your drop there for you.
The drop system could be improved, but as it is it's so much better than the drop system in say, Diablo II.

You don't get out that much, do you.
We are talking about farming areas not mission or low lvl areas.
Farming areas requires certain builds for each class.
The Tombs which happens to be the area the OP got jacked at.
Is one of those farming areas. This is how it works. Someone
forms a group. Everyone that gets invited into that group. Knows
their builds. Or they will be given a certain build that the leader wants.
There is no way the whole party can be killed if a person or two grabs
their drops. It only takes a second maybe two. But why are we even
disscussing this?
Now back on topic.
Shit happens bro. That's life for you.
Always pick up your drops. If you don't. Someone might think you
don't want it. That's how it is with any Farming groups. But don't get me
wrong I feel your pain and anger. If that was me who got jacked. I
would track that person. And try to scare him or her. So I can get
what belongs to me back.

-Not getting drops that have been assigned to you
-Getting wiped at places where you have to return to outpost and start over
Whether it be UW, FOW, SF, Tombs or missions, those apply. Why you dragged farming into this, I'll never know. The same problems arise just as well when a group of people try to play casually and there's one idiot in the group. Does it really matter if your 15^50 fellblade gets jacked during a 5-man Oro run or while completing Thunderhead Keep?
I also tried to offer a possible solution for the problem, but hey, if discussing things makes you bored, I guess throwing shit around randomly works too

Lol he even took the ogre-slaying knife?
You'd think ANet would have safeguards in place for something like this, since it's pretty well understood that people wouldn't not want their green or gold drops. Item assignements expiring has its problems for whites and blues too. I'm sure everyone's had an experience with someone who'll turn around and abandon you mid-fight to pick up what... 500g worth of white drops 5 minutes behind you.
I guess you could have taken precautions yourself by killing the darknesses last, or as close to last as possible ;p

Once in FoW, someone died who had a shard drop for them, everyone, being mature players, kept their distance from it as we cleared the few enemies and rezzed him....all but the ranger, whose standing on top of it, obviously spam clicking the shard and not fighting. He never got it, but i was still really pissed off at them...what a total noob.

That is the lowest of the low for farming. Even worse than going afk the whole trip and appearing at the end to get drops (which happened to be the Bulwark).
Although to be honest, if the greens have dropped why the hell didn't you pick em up there and then? Sod the other groups, i couldn't give a damn if they kill everyone unless they haven't got there green first. At which point i will res them asap.
As for scrounging, i normally wait until AFTER the FoW group has fallen apart before i go round and pick up about 4k worth of whites. Although when i play Order necro in tombs i will wander off and pick up items, purely becuase orders have such a long range though.

i feel bad for those people who got ripped (darkness just dropped me an experience boosting scroll). imagine the time spent getting there.
i think item assignments should be fixed, say remove drop assignments from someone if that person logged/err7ed/quit or never remove drop assignments at all..

Thats just low. I will make sure I tell this guy what I think of him via PM once he gets online......me and all my guildies. The rat!

Maybe a solution could be if you clicked on an item dropped for you, it appears in your inventory without your having to run up to grap it...dead or not.

you can't be serious, oh well have fun.
The only thing I can say, yes thats not nice of this guy, but life goes on nothing you can do about it.
next time, don't die

this has been happening in two man UW for a long time...
The 55 monk sees a glob, runs an aataxe over to the necro...dead...wait for the glob...leave.

Been happening all the time, ESPECIALLY w/ 55 HP monks aggroing and getting the SS killed so he/she can take the globs of ecto. They usually turn off their chat and set offline and just wait for a few mins. Then, they grab ecto and run, lol. Dude, that REALLY sucks, hope you weren't the one w/ the Bulwark
. Noobs plague the new UW though. Like going w/ "experienced" groups, and then like half the group says "Wow, never been here before!" when they see the darknesses. It was probably a Wammo or something like that, lol.

Charqus
Something similar happened to me in an fow chest run grp...
4 ppl died and this guy nicked a req 8 chaos axe, req 8 shadow blade and 2 req 11 pieces of crap
and he refused to give em back and turned his status to offline

well perhaps they should fix it by making all drops *stay* assigned....if you dont want it, just click it, pick up then drop it.....
although, it might be best to limit that to areas that are desert and past, if you know what i mean...
i dont think most players are going to fight over low level whites and so on unless they are penniless at the time.
same goes for purples and golds...they seem to be lowr and lowr, i dont find that many usefull ones..they tend ot be opposite what i actually want/need lol....
so to sumarise...once your character gets to the desert or beyond *and any area that drops *good MAX and green drops* your items that are not whites or crafting mats STAY ASSIGNED...however when you pop back to befor the desert, anything will time out still.....

Yeah, I think items should only be unassigned if you are no longer part of the game as that just opens the door for all kinds of drop stealing. Someone should make a thread on that in Sardelac, huh...
Jessyi
If a Bulwark drops for you, unless you're already dead at the time of the drop, it's time to look out for #1. If I had to charge past 10 Glints to get it, killing myself in the process, I would, ESPECIALLY if it was in danger of going public.
I've had people do this in groups I've been in. Believe me, I understood.
Hey, how angry could I be? The drop assignment system exists such that people *can* do dishonourable BS and steal valuble drops. I wouldn't chance it myself.
