It's been, what, 4 months? Arena.net needs to fix it so when Edge of Extinction drops in Halls of Heroes, it doesn't kill everyone on the map AND LEAVE them dead till the next match begins, therefore not getting any of the drops.

Really Edge, like any skill, needs to be fixed to end when the match is declared over. It does get annoying to lose a sigil because some sore losers decided to drop Edge 6 seconds before time runs out so that you have effectively no time to find it at all.

/not signed because they will nerf the skill, which happens to be useful for trappers on occasion. Everytime someone whines about something in PvP PvE gets the shaft. So it looks like someone found a strategy that makes life difficult for you...ok figure out a way to counter it yourself instead of whining for Anet to fix it for you. If you are that tactically lazy then you deserve to get EoE bombed.

Reading isn't your strong point, is it? No one is talking about EoE bombs, or whining about losing to them. The problem is that when a match ends in HoH, everyone not on the winning team (generally around 16 people, or two teams, maybe less if some are already dead when the timer runs out) is instantly killed. If EoE is up, these death's trigger the EoE damage even though the match is over, and the winning team is *also* killed and prevented from claiming their sigils or other drops that they recieved from the HoH chest. Please try to actually understand what you are talking about before replying to threads in the future.

So counter it figure out a way to drop the spirit before the match ends. EoE damage is not that bad. In fact the only general use it has is for that extra little umph to take out some of the more stubborn groups that trappers run into. If you are dieing to EoE damage then you deserve what you get. By the way love that attitude. Your parents must be so proud of you. You're so well mannered and courteous. I can't believe PVPers get a bad rep for being jerks when there are absolute princes like you around./sarcasm and still not signed.

Str0b0, do you know how much dmg EoE does if 2 teams die exactly at the same time?

lets take IWAY with 9 BM for the example (9 BM is enough for IWAY to get +6 regen and max for the weapon) EoE does 36 dmg per death. Now lets say the team currently holding doesnt kill anyone and just holds, thats 16 people left alive at the end of the battle.

16 people dying at the same time * 36 dmg for EoE = 576 dmg. All that dmg is dealt in a fraction of a second. Unless the holders all have over that amount of health they are pretty sure to die.

"Droping the spirits" doesnt always work if you have around 5 sec left to the battle trying to stay alive. Like in our case (I was with Rusty when it did it), We had to bodyblock the enemy heros for around 15 sec as they had killed ours. Having sent a person to kill out the spirits might have cost us the battle.

And instead of saying that our attitude sucks because of a bug that has the potential of preventing what the winning team earned and then telling us to "find a way to counter it", you can just go f... and don't come back until you actually have a way to counter it in ALL situations.

strobo you commenting on other peoples politeness is just laughable. I do not have a problem with your abrasive manner however his earlier point about reading through it stands. if you had read it and knew what was being discussed you'd discover that it had nothing to do with anyone whining about a tactic because we couldn't counter it

As Rusty said, dont be an idiot. You didn't read the OP. He's talking about after the battle is over, when everyone but the winners die, EoE is still triggered. With 16+ people dying thats a big chain reaction. People can't get they're drops from winning if they're dead.

this has happened to me 2 many times and Strobo...i have a feeling u havent even experienced an EoE reaction from 16 ppl dying....try getting a req9 gold dwarven axe, but not claiming it because u died of EoE...

how about a req. 9 gold crystalline sword?

i dont see why you guys say people should bring counters, especially ones such as healing hands which is just a huge waste of an elite you have enough to worry about and to tech against one your way to halls that you shouldnt have to worry about after you win some jerks put down an EOE to screw over your drops.

There are Always new and changign obsticles, So a new one is made for you to combat after you have have officialy won, Its just one more thing you need to deal with... Cookie Cutter builds simply DONT have counters to it... So does it make it wrong? Dont complain about a game mechanic that some one is using because in your opinion it shouldnt work that way. Only the best teams should be able to win and get there loot, And if you cant figure out a way to counter something that you only need 1 skill for to counter, then you dont deserve the loot that you cant have.

but to require a team to bring that skill incase they manage to fight there way to halls and win because they dont want to lose there loot at the end, it is not right for the game to demand that a team bring a counter to something they shouldnt have to worry about they have already won the match and bringing a skill that is going to be other wise useless until you get to the point where you have already won a match to use it is stupid.

So according to you if an opposing team manages to drop an EoE with 1 second left on the clock we should try and counter it? Fat luck there buddy. I really don't see why all you scrubs are telling us to counter it when it's impossible to counter if they drop it right at the end. Unless you experience it for yourself I guess that's the best I can expect out of most of you. I've lost 5 sigils to this, I'm tired of teams of sore losers being able to time the drop of EoE so that it lands at the last second to kill us all without time to react. Oh and EoE will hit anyone on your team if at least one person is in range regardless of whether or not you are in it's range as well. So yeah we can all run away right?

A Major problem like this should have BEEN taken care of as soon as it arised. As for the People too low down to accept defeat and drop the eoe at the last few seconds, your unsportsman like conduct should shame you. Truly a sad situation when one can't handle the fact that his strategy was useless in defeating a superior team, therefore he resorts to the tactics of a sore loser. This is not a bug, but an exploit that is being abused.

Edge of Extinction: Create a level 1-8 Spirit. For creatures within its range, whenever ANY CREATURE DIES, Edge of Extinction deals 14-43 damage to ALL NEARBY CREATURES OF THE SAME TYPE. This Spirit dies after 30-126 seconds.

So 16 humans that lost die, therefore the remaining 8 take the damage. Ok, why not A-net just make it so that when a match is over, NO MORE DAMAGE CAN BE DEALT TO ANYTHING!? No creature, no npc, no player, nothing. That would get rid of the exploit and any other one that may pop up later. Just my 2 cents. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism on this concept is welcome and appreciated. People with Noobism and foot in mouth disease, please refrain from wasting anymore forum space with incessant babble. Please.
