Hello there! If you are a mesmar Know that I Love you! Mesmars are awesome, and are a rangers best friend. Rangers and Mesmies working together to destroy the world. You guys are awesome and can realy change the tide in PvE and in PvP. I try to get atleast a mesmar in every group I lead, because you guys are so important in the battle. You guys makes everyones life easier by doing what mesmies do best! So Mesmars out there, Know that you are respected by the good players and the ones who dont like you are newbies and arent worth the trouble. Give me a Good Mesmar over a Good Warrior Any day!

Yes, I love my mesmer, deeply, and my male mesmer has little more than half the total hours I've played on my main account (some 2000+ hours worth).

However, I can't help but feel this thread is doomed to another flamewar.

I love my mesmer too. Not only can they inflict 420 dmg every 5 seconds (or SOMETHING like that) but their armor is also the best looking too.

I'm looking forward to the day (very, VERY soon) that I'll be rewarding my Mesmer with FoW armor!

I'd like to add that all you Mesmers are appreciated by those in the know. The things Mesmers do in combat can really screw up the entire enemy mob and make life so much easier for the rest of the team. Keep up the good work!

You don't need a book to use the book trick. Take off your weapon and shield. Its the same affect. You can do that anywhere.

The AI sees you as the weakest target and attacks you.

Correction, PvE will REQUIRE you to not use lame book trick!

Mesmers are cool, capable, stylish. I just dislike the lack of good mesmers in PvE.

My mesmer is my only character

There's just something very appealling about being a pacifist Defender of the Earth mandrik(sp?) Master of magic, spells and illusion - type of character.

And their costume was just, SO the best-est. I recently saw someone running around wearing a pair of batman look alike gloves though. Must find those someday.

and blah.

Noone takes Mesmers and either you form your own group or you bring guildies. Period.

I kept 2 hours yesterday (yeah i had "shield of patience" on or just was too stupid not taking my Necro or Monk) to get in a group in ToA. What makes me even more angry is that this morning i just needed 1 minute (yes, just map on and had a invite into a group) with my Ranger in a barrage group in Tombs (new UW or whatever you call it).

I love my Mesmer and the one i enjoy the most with. She's amazing and fun , a blast to play.

But either i go to PvP, bring my ppl, or have almost no chance to play her

Oh yeah, i can go to Nolani Academy and help the ppl there

God, pfft again with the booktrick, just admit that you do not have the skill to play chalenging areas without the book trick.
SS is a FINE skill but its does not interrupt monks now does it.
Go to Grenth's Footprint and kill all the mobs around the Yakslapper guy and try to kill him with no interrupts and just SS.
You will be there for days.

I'm sure you still have not faced an enemy with Mark of Protection (Yakslapper guy for eg)

My favourite char is a mesmer Male, He is both GAY and BLACK, two things thought to be the work of satan in my home town.
There's just something cool about the way mesmers fight, subtly and cleverly , with interrupts and trickery abound, and who else is brave enough to go into combat wearing a dinner-suit and stockings!

we're not trying to say we're better than everyone else we just want there to be somewere mesmers can feel appreciated.

Being a pragmatist has a limit, people who are such rarely have a theory that revolves around "We are gods, worship us." Which alot of people seem to have developed while playing mesmers. Why must you personally attack him? Lets see, where your flawed statement becomes flawed.

First why don't you try and kill a foe with MoP with only one skill, no matter your profession I bet you ten bucks you will fail. Now beyond that idiotic flaw in your statement lets move on, SS is not designed to interupt, why you comapre it to interupting skills is beyond me. I am sure a necro with Soul Leech and some nice Marks of Subversion can hack apart casters, and even Monks if used correctly. After all, Necro's ignore armour too and have alot more direct damage skills.

Though really I want you to do as you said, but now flip it and you go into FoW with interupts and you kill a massive mob. See how thats not really fair? Neither is saying "Use SS to kill some monk boss."

The point, though... is that mesmers are gods in many situations. I haven't noticed that many hyper-egotistical mesmers (except me

I just don't see why people don't get it. Best dances are a dead giveaway that mesmers are the best class. I don't mind being the minority... though I do wish there were a few more female mesmers around to dance with my male for good luck in ToA before a run
