Guild Co-Leaders
Max Xavier
Myself and a friend are currently Leader and Co-Leader of our guild would it not be great if in your roster you could asign a co-leader just as you do officers. Giving them the same overall control of the guild as the leader. And being able to assign the guild officers specific duties as in one officer can only recruit or gvg and the such.

The very first guild I belonged to in Guild Wars had the same issue. Two friends had played tic-tac-toe in order to decide which of them would occupy the Leader hole. Although they were co-leaders, the one designated as an Officer never quite looked the same to me as the Leader because I didn't know the full history of the guild. Max and I address that problem by explicitly telling members about our co-leadership and alternating in the Leader hole every 6 months. However, it would be an easy issue to address and there seem to be many reasons to do so. Not only would it address the issues I've already mentioned, but being able to have guilds of different structure would help make each guild (and the experience of its members) unique.
Dutifully yours in co-leadership,
Kromp

Well ... seems like we have the co-leaders agreeing. I'm not going to disagree on this, but in my guild all the officers are co-leaders. The only thing I can do that they can't is demote an officer, and I make no major decisions without input and agreement from my officers. But that's just me

And allow us to rename the goddamn ranks already! Back when I was a guild leader the biggest beef I had with the guild system was that I couldn't make the guild more unique in-game by renaming the ranks.

ANET! Please make this possible.. this would be one of the greatest "small" improvements.

But more importantly they are going to need to do something for Alliance co leaders I think as well... I mean 10 guilds in 1 alliance is the max. all under ONE ALL POWERFUL LEADER???? wow... I figure each guild should have a co leader, and each guild leader should be an Alliance co leader. Something like that.
So A maxed out alliance would have 1 alliance leader, and 9 alliance co-leaders (from guild leader pool). [maybe Call it an Alliance Council???]
And each guild would have 1 leader, and 1 co-leader (from officer pool).
that kind of thing...

One of my guild officers may as well be the co-leaders.

Agreed, I am the guild leader, but my friend who isn't as social is the actual creator/owner of the guild. It would be nice if we could show some duality.

I merely think guilds need more rank slots. Members, officers, and guild leader just doesnt cut it anymore.

A co-leader is very good for a guild, because the leader can't do all alone and officiers can only join new members for the guild.

Yes, I want more than one guild leader because I'm not omnicient (as in being God) so I can't control everything and people don't like an absent leader.

I wouldn't think this would be a good idea.
Simply because, only the leader should be able to have the power to do such things. If you have other people with the same powers, they would be able to do practically anything, which would cause problems. For example, someone kicking / demoting officers etc. There is no real need to have co leaders. Only 1 person need to be able to demote officers. Anet would get alot of complaints about people's guilds being crashed.

Co-leaders should be people you totally trust, such as husband/wife, partners, brothers, sisters, best real life friends, etc. Anyone who assigns someone they don't know as co-leader gets what they deserve.

there is a definite need for this or something like this. someone has to be able to do everything the leader can do when the leader is away. if the leader stops playing guild wars or is unreachable for whatever, the guild is screwed over.

isn't an officer a co-leader? -.-"
so be a co leader to kick officers? thats the only thing a leader can do or invite to aliance, if you think your leader is not doing enough maybe you should vote for a new 1, and every group has 1 leader not 2. have you ever seen lucky number slevin?
/not signed and /not signed for co-officer too before ppl start coming with the idea

For some system of layers of responsibility and authority within the Guild ranks structure.

Co-leaders or the ability to designate what officers can do:
-Promote members to officer
-Add new members/Send guest invites
-Remove members
-Start GvGs

Should only be 1 leader, in my view, if he trusts someone to fill in as leader while hes gone/offline, then make someone else leader for that time, and ask (lol) for the leadership back, if he hasnt already sold the guild

As a Guild Leader the biggest beaf I've had with this game is the very limited Guild Options. The game is Guild Wars after all, they should have advanced guild options. I would love to be able to assign specific guild ranks in the game and be able to personalize our guild in more ways. We have a website with specific ranks and guild titles, but in the game roster it is just stagnant and the newer members or ones that don't do much on our website don't get to see this.

The option should be there for those that want it. If you don't like the idea then you don't have to use the option.

I actually would like some form of layering of responsibility and accomplishment within a guild. A leader, lieutenants, officers, regular members, and maybe some probation members.

The lack of this, in part, killed an Alliance recently, due to the boss guild leader being unable to get on as often as he used to.
