Out of all the Rants I want to hear what you are thankful for?

I almost gave up MMO before Guild Wars thinking all of which are the same, ever since my college roomate gave me a public beta disk of GW, I fell for it as soon as I saw the glittering & glowing pre-searing Ascalon.
GW PvP is a prime example and more appropriate descendant of Starcraft than WoW. The GW skill system particularly is worth an applause, as we all know how difficult it is to develop such a complex yet balanced skill system, and no one could or would use bots on it.

Scaling faction cap based on hero/gladiator titles. Twas very helpfull since its easy to get lost in the mood of PvP and wind up earning pointless faction.

Guild Wars has set such high standard for online gaming for me, I've enjoyed the adventure so far. Its so rare that we get a game so playable yet incredibly beautiful, for that I'm extremely grateful to ArenaNet.
Oh and I'm so thankful that its subscription-free.

I'm thankful for Guild Wars in general. As others have said, I have NEVER had a game I've put so many hours into. And I've enjoyed almost all of them.
I enjoy the fact that when I play so much I burn out, or RL calls me away for a few months, that I can get right back into the game and not have my characters way behind the power curve.
And I am really thankful that I can play as much or little as I want and it costs me not one cent more than the cost of the games themselves.
I think aside from the simplicity of learning the basics, the one thing that drew me into this game was the gorgeous graphics, both scenery and characters. And while the engine is getting a bit dated after three years or more, it is STILL one of the most beautiful games I have ever played.
Can't wait to see how far they take things in GW2 when they have all the new shaders and dx10 to play with.

Thank you for making a game that even us old folks can play with our slow reflexes and all.

I love the henchmen inside outposts. Cynn/Mhenlo is hilarious
Also you gave Aidan a lady-friend, I was worried about the geezer getting lonely

Thank you for these:
First and foremost, a landscape all of the homesick pre-searers can marvel at after two years of blasted lands (not that those haven't given me a few screencap-worthy visuals). The Charr Homelands are positively gorgeous
All of the armor we choose to wear (or not to wear), the intricacies of which are somtimes taken for granted
All of the weapons, common and rare, that we can find (there are so many now!)
Thanks for noob-luck and sometimes allowing experienced players to get something nice, too.
For guilds, I've met so many people i hope not forget.
For a system that relies on skill rather than lvl, replacing grind with brain (for the most part)
For the time taken to balance builds, even if some of my favs have gone by the wayside
For titles that keep me entertained between campaigns
For the wit and humor that comes in to play, and the pop-culture references too
And last but not at all least: For keeping the game FREE.

I'm thankful for a game that rewards casual and hardcore players alike; I'm hardcore myself but if the casual players weren't welcome I'd be playing something else.
I'm thankful for a game that is gorgeous and fun, clearly built by people enjoying themselves.

Very thankful for Guild Hall services.
Thankful for numerous free or Cheap to attain Collector items, so I am not forced to pay a fortune for basic stuff from other players.
Thankful for 1k Max armors as an option for characters who I simply want to have max armor and not care what they look like.
Thankful for open region moving so I can play with all my friends from all over the world with little hassle or unreasonable fees for doing it.
Thankful for addition of Character slots for a marginal and affordable fee.
Thankful for all the free content Anet continues to offer without a subscription. (Sorrows Furnace, Tombs, DoA, HM Everywhere, Freebe chests in NF, Halloween, wintersday, Festivus for the rest of us; Alla 4th of july lol; Minipet birthday presents, and most of all Booze!!! For all those cool PvE skills we all just bought with the GWEN expansion...)
Thankful for profession changer, and Rune and Dye traders all added after the fact from Fan proposals.
Thankful for all the support over the years Anet has provided on skill balances, Bot reporting, Exploit reporting, and bug fixes.
And Finally for keeping GW1 online till GW2 is out and more then likely beyond, all for no subscription fee... This makes GW the most valuable MMORPG in existence. it is a top quality MMO that you can buy and play for a month here or a week there and go on with your live without the worry of Will my character get deleted cause I let my subscription lapse, Worse if your life catches up to you and you can not play for a bit you do not have to go around turning off recurring subscriptions then go back and figure out how to turn it back on later...
Also VERY VERY VERY thankful for the absolute BEST thing that the GW engine has to offer to all Online gaming... Patchless streaming updates. That means a marginal installation is all you need to get going and the game itself updates itself AS you advance through the game, instead of a huge 2 or 3gb download at one time before you can play. Patches come to you automatically reducing the dreaded LAGFEST patch days that plauge the other MMOs. This also means GW can update it self more often without adversely effecting everyone online and forcing everyone to quit playing and download a huge patch to continue.
So for all of that Anet I say Thank you very much. And as sorry as I am that we lost out on Utopia, Hopefully GW2 will be everything GW1 has been and more...

I'm sure I could list everything I'm thankful for, but I'm sure I'd be here all night. So I'll just say that I'm thankful for all of the great things Anet has done for the community.
Even though a lot of people still complain... Anet possibly has some of the best people working on this game, and I've never in any other ORPG, MMORPG, MMORTS, and the like, seen a more caring group of people working on a single franchise to ensure that the community is as happy as it can be. And this is especially impressive because the game charges no monthly fee, yet offers so much. What more could anyone want?

Thank you for kindling my love of role-playing games in general. Dungeon Siege laid the foundation, but Guild Wars lit the fire.
Nowadays I'd rather play a RPG instead of a FPS, though I still play some of the older titles for that touch of nostalgia.

I am thankful for the initial idea behind Guild Wars.
Which they ruined! :>
Lately, I am really happy about the unexpected fix to Canthan pets. That was great.

My thanks go to:
Just to mention a few.
- The male ele Norn armor because it rocks.
- The nicely designed Dungeons and the chest rewards.
- The fixed Heroes Handbook/Master Dungeon Guide
- The awesome graphics in GW:EN and especially the Norn lands. (I like snowy regions)
- The double grind points weekend that gave me the morale boost to finish the rather boring grind work and steam ahead to r3 of KoaBD.
Just to mention a few.

They may have made many mistakes, though they have made some awesome changes aswell, nevertheless its probably still one of the most awesome games ever. (Right up there with LBA2 and Bloodlines )

I'm thankful for a great game that continues in my imagination. It still works like that for me. I haven't written fantasy or made visual art, but I have imagined ideas with the main character I use in the game. I wouldn't type stuff up and post them on a forum of course because no one ever reads that. I'd have to make something marketable.

I realized today I am thankful for the Water Magic upgrades. I'm begining to love Water Magic as an alternative to simply blasting Meteor Shower on everything. If only Air magic got the same lovin...

Thank you for giving me something to do for 2 years. If I didn't have Guildwars, I have no idea what I'd do.

I'm thankful for the Guild Wars because without it, I would have never met such great people as the ones in my guild!

I am thankful for the e-p33n enlargement title track (i.e. maxed titles track), keeping me grinding on through the game until I die of old age.

I'm generally thankful for GW - I spend a lot of time playing it, whether it be farming or going through the storyline. I also made very good friends on this game .
