A.NET You Getting This?

I know a lot of people are content with factions but many others including me expected a lot more than just 2 new classes and more content with weapons and armours ect. Sure I enjoy having more but one of the most important things you should be doing now is improving the game with features we need, not some dumb henchman talking to himself, thats something you wasted time on when ther're more critical things to improve, such as alliances, elite missions, henchmen AI and skill set. You've really dissapointed a lot. When I bought the game I played it for like 3 days and got so tired because I do not want to keep repeating gay content over and over again. Also with the biggest GW fansite ranting like crazy they really do have to change this stuff and also include the things that are needed such as auction houses, more storage, and buyable character slots.
Gaile Gray and Alex Weekes and all staff can say well its coming out soon but really how soon I hope it isnt as messed up as you Collectors Edtion ordeal.
I really want to see the communitys opinion about all this.
I will also add things that people think need to improve or add to the game just post it.

I Belive there's a rant on unsatisfaction on Factions as it is.

If you look at this part of the forum all you see is people disgruntled with factions because there is so much that should be corrected.
Sir Skullcrasher
another part of factions i hate is the stupid drop systems. Also if Guild Wars Factions promised to be all about skills. Why the hell, do i see more peoples buying 15k armors in Cantha, collecting new greens and gold items and selling them for insane amount of golds or even ebay them. Not to mentioned the mini pet craze we got right now.
GG A-Net for making this game part of "Collect Them All" mentality instead of focusing on better story line, fighting mechanics, and maybe.. decent AI. There should have been more added into factions (i know its asking for alot) but seriously, this isn't much different from original GW. All you get is one new race (ritualist don't count), a decent storyline. But the overall missions, quests have been stretch out too far. You have to go long distant back and forth to get it done. Not to mention going to mulitple zones to reach to the destination than having to fight all the way back for the rewards.
If GW: Chapter 3 is like this, i might as well, sit back and wait it out like i did with the original guild wars. Too much are being repeated in factions that its getting boring after you beat the game once.

So more char slot, auction house and better hench would make you happy?
You cant expect Guild Wars to be detailed like WoW. Guild Wars is NOT pay to play(p2p), so they dont have money to do everything.
This is starting to be a new "Battlefield 2" forums.. If anyone was watching BF2 forums when it came out, you know what i mean

One thing that springs to mind is that if people LIKE something in factions the majority of the time they don't say it because they want to see what else is good. If they dont like something they stop playing and complain about it. So fact of the matter is that the good stuff in factions far outweighs the bad. Anet have made a GREAT game in a single year of development and have improved upon most of the faults made in the first game.
The amount of moaners in the guild wars community astounds me.
I'd like to congratulate everyone on the design team for an outstanding job.

I've taken my part in the hate before, but [so far], I've found nothing to really complain about.
What I have seen, I like. Now, mind you, I'm still really early in the game, but I'll let you know when I find something I dislike!
As for the "collect them all" craze: it doesn't effect you, so don't worry about it. A lot of people (like me) actually want cool stuff like this, so putting that as a "complaint" isn't really helping!

Rant: Weapon drops suck, perfect items are too expensive.
Answer: Increase quality of gold, perfect gold items drop more.
New Rant: Gold Weapons drop too much, depreciating price.
Rant: PvE is too Easy
Answer: Add more mobs, overlapping patrols, more diversity
New Rant: PvE too hard (or still too easy)
So lets keep ranting, let them answer and find more stuff to rant about. ^_^

I disagree, seeing as theyve only had about a year i think theyve done extremely well. Id like to see you make a game as good as this in that time

There's always room for improvements, but I think Anet has done very well for the 12 months they had. Factions is a wonderful success.

factions *is* stand alone, in its own right, just as prophesies is...
last week i bought the Weeping Stone guildhall....i have factions, my friend does not...i told him to try taking a look at the hall (he has WoW addiction, but managed to drag himself off it for 5 mins to log in and see the hall)
he saw the hall.....he does not have faction, but he STILL got to see the hall...
realy, you CAN play ether game alone...it just gives you other extra stuff if you add the two together....
as to the gota collect'em all.....well, what did you expect? theres bugger all they CAN give us that wont affect PvP in SOME way....collectable pets are about one of the few things they CAN give us.
we cant have homes or armour or wepons or skills ect, because they are supposedly going to imbalance pvp some way...(yeah, yeah,,15k stuff ect, heard it all, even the no to this PvE only item casue titakes time away from making PvP only stuff argument)
give it time, people....sure, theres areas of the game that suck....theres areas of Chap1 that STILL suck monkey droppings, a whole YEAR after going live....
just give them time to come down from their caffine high induced coma from the crammig they had to do to get the game out there last minute...
i mean, almost every time i log onto the game, theres some kinda update uploading, even if its just one measly little file

Well it's not like you're PAYING for the fixed bugs and features that are added which should have been in the initial release. Unlike a few games which everyone knows about.

I played it for the first week and now I'm so bored of it. There are too many things wrong with Faction. I loved GWP tho, the stories had alot of twist, it was a fun and an immersive game, it kept me interested for months. I still go back to do Tomb runs instead of staying in Cantha.
GWP fun for me was the farming, there are many aspect of the game and even tho alot of people is against, there are a large population of farmers that is turned off to faction. People farm Tombs, UW, FoW, Ettins, Hydra, Griffons, imps & Trolls because it gave them an edge with rune, weapons and gold drop. In a so-call balanced game, its fun to have a little edge with finding rare drops or having gold to buy anything, its very satisfying to find good drops.
But with Faction and Anets constant nerfing of farmers, it really turned off alot of RPG players to this game. Don't flame me for this, but I personally think the 55 monk/necro build was awesome. I personally loved my 55 necro and farm alot with her. But as the nerf bat came, my interest in this game started dropping quick. Farming in Cantha is next to impossible. RPG aspect is Fedex quest.
Anyway, I like to RP & Farm....Faction is lacking in these category. I paid my $50 for it already and I'm regretting wasting any more money on GW. As for Chapter 3, there's no way in hell I'm getting.
Faction has destroyed the GW title.
my 2 cent.

Ok, I really feel this needs to be said. The game was BOUGHT and PAID for by everyone who owns guildwars prophecies and factions. Paying to play was intended for server support, additional features as the game progressed, and greedy companies. It was ANet's decision to make this game stand out and have it free to play online. This is the companies decision and in no way should be used as an excuse to develop a poor game (not my belief that it is poor :P).
If people are not content with the game as is, then let them be! They have a *right* to do so. Imagine if there was no pay to play ever invented, then the customer has more rights to complain? No, if a customer is unsatisfied then I believe they have a right to voice it. I don't speak on behalf of anyone, but I feel that being happy with what you have gotten is a poor psycology when a new game is bought (it HAS been payed for).
I am sorry to say this, but just because I offer you a coffee for 20 cents and give free refills. If the coffee sucks, I honestly cannot say that, "hey! im giving free refills". Although its a poor analogy (I admit) I still think that some complaints are warranted, so please stop trolling around about a game you like enforcing others to like it too.
It IS great that you don't have to pay to play, but I did not buy this game for that reason alone, people expect quality.

ok guys, enough with the back and forth flaming.
There are just too many mistakes that A-Net, i do like the new armors style, weapons, and mini pets. But what i hates is the braindead AI (again just like original GW) the long-winded quests and missions. I would imagine later on, we'll have patches to fix these problems (again with time concern) i bet A-Net don't have times to test out all aspects within this game. I would still rate the original as the best online game that i ever played out there.
Can anyone answer this for me, why did A-Net rolled out with the new greens right now as oppose of making new areas (such as TOPK, SF) later on in Cantha?

As for releasing a "crappy game", thats only your subjective view. If a few complaints automatically labels the game as "crappy" then there's really no good games out there anymore. You cant satisfy everyone, no matter what Anet does, there will ALWAYS be some dickwad who thinks they should be in charge of what games should all look/feel/play like.
Although I doubt I can speak for Arenanet, I'm sure all of our opinions and discussions here were thoroughly adhered to by their research and development teams. They've calculated the "majority's interest" versus the mutually exclusive "minority's interest" and executed their games accordingly. Those of us that are still here after April 28th filling out complaint threads are simply in the "minority" category.

Somehow, though, they managed to let some of the same issues that plagued Prophecies get into Factions. (Like characters getting stuck in floors and other clipping problems.)

And I won't even get started on GWF; ANET knows what they have done. They are the ones that know GWP in and out, and know GWF in and out, and I can bet they have made internal comparisons. What they know, and what they "market" to the public, can be two different things. It might just be that the gaming public can't be fooled that easily. Well at least I won't be anyway.
Another point, a discussion forum with valid complaints and constructive criticism is more valued than some other FANBOI site. You learn more from your failures and defeats, than your victories. Sure each go hand in hand, but praise gets you nowhere. If they want to hear praise to feed their egos, they can go to the Fanboy forums. When they listen to complaints, they can fix whatever they need to fix, making the game better. Of course there is the argument you cannot please everyone. They will have to make the decision on who to please. And I bet they will base that decision on their sales. -.-
It's not that I do not want to give praise, but I will give it when it is rightly due.

And I'll admit, I've been a dickwad to a few other games as well... somebody has to do it. But I ain't blaming you for being a dickwad for guild wars.
PS... all opinions are "subjective".
edit:: Before you read too much into the "subjective" debate. Let me clarify that my attack is not on your right to make critical opinions or state your 2 cents. My disappointment is your assumption that the majority of people do not like Factions, and nerfing a few builds automatically makes the game bad.

I would just like to say that no other game developed in such a short space of time has delivered as much quality as this. The environments are fantastic. The skill system still poses challenge and requires skill. In my opinion they added plenty more for me to be getting on with. People should at least complete every bit of the game before moaning that not enough additions were made.
Zaxan Razor
The thing is, people only post on here when they complain about something. People that are happy with the game dont post anything.
Personally i think you're just complaining because the game isnt what you wanted it to be.
Prophecies had a lot of bugs in it when it was released. You don't need to farm at all with factions anymore, because if you take a team of 4 players/4 hench out into any explorable area, you are almost guaranteed to get 2 gold drops, if not more (between the 4 players)
Add to that the fact that you can get a green from any explorable area boss..there is no need to farm anymore.
Secondly..people complained about Prophecies being too easy PvE wise..now people complain about Factions being too hard (which it isnt btw)..
People complained that the random 12v12 was crappy, now people are complaining that going in groups of 4 is crappy.
This community has gone down the toilet to be honest. Hardly anyone makes a good, well thought out and insightful thread anymore. Its always "I can't do this so Anet & Guild Wars Sucks"..its pathetic really. Like the board has been taken over by 10 year olds.

There are clearly many different opinions here on this board.
May it be constructive criticism, appraisals, or just sheer mud slinging, it does NOT make Guild Wars Factions a "Failure". in respect, it doesn't make it the "best game ever made" either. Your opinion are your own, don't stick your own opinion down other people's throat.

IMO, they have our concerns in mind. those of you ranting about every little thing wrong in Factions, have you ever developed a game? my guess is no. I havent either, but helping with testing has taught me alot about the workings of how a game is developed. Its never going to be perfect on release. I think its great they added more rare drops and gold rewards. I love the fact that I dont have to farm for ages to get armor I want I know some of you are all about farming, and honestly, if thats your thing, im sorry they nerfed that for you. but you cant please everyone. and the general gaming community doesnt farm as a main source of entertainment in the game. I've enjoyed the pve part so far, even as a mostly pvp player. I think they are doing a tremendous job listening to our concerns. I just think that maybe we should be a little more CIVIL in the way we address these issues. They are much more likley to consider a well thought out concern without flaming in it than a ranting, 'you suck' post. So please, use civil words and punctuation when posting your concerns. I know i'd be more apt to listen to you if you did
Lexar
Actually Zaxan I don't completely agree with you. A lot of the long-time frustrations like bad henchie A.I. and new alternatives for the trade channel have long since been adressed by the community, since the first day GW went online over a year ago, and a lot of people, including myself thought that with factions coming, these long time frustrations would get solved, since they didn't get fixed or changed in any patch meanwhile. Now it seems that aside from the guildhall improvements, (that still need some work, but definately enjoyable) these problems haven't changed, but instead we get more new content iof the same level instead of making it qualitatively better. Henchies are actually even slightly worse (or at least perform worse in these conditions because the mobs are closer packed, so aggro-ing is a lot harder), trade is still annoying, still nothing to change appearance, favor of the gods still excludes people etc.
To add to the mix, although actions is in itself quite good, it's not everything it was made out to be. The story hasn't gotten any better or intriguing, there's actually less coop. mission, and of course a lot of people are denied access to the elite missions now. The concerns people have are well-funded and the general consensus on fansites seems to be that they'll wait and see what chapter 3 is like before they buy it like they did with chapter 2. Of course a lot of people bring it in a bad way and fanboys clash with trollers and flamers, like on any healthy forum, so it overshadows the legitimate problems and issues that are brought up.
It's true that less people enjoy 12 vs 12 now than they did in the preview event, and it's true that painfull bugs in the first missions seem like the game wasnt playtested all that well, elite missions encourage grind over skill, contrary to what the game stands for. My suggestion would be that instead of feeding the cravings of the masses by making some new holiday event that obviously costs a lot of hours and work to pull it off, focus that effort on a cool new trading system, on making the henchies better, etc. That would on the long run be a lot better than keeping some silly hat you never use anyway. And be man enough to admit that the elite missions and the favor of the gods just excludes large groups of people and should be revised from the ground up. It's almost painfull to see no real response from Anet's side on these topics except for 'play more pvp'.
Now for me personally the good in factions outweighs the bad, I like the new artwork, higher res armors (why not upgrade the tyrian ones too? they look bland in comparison, just make the texture sharper in photoshop or something), the Luxons and the Kurzicks are well-portrayed and their differences and philosophies work well for the game, and of course I just like to play more GW even if it's not much of an improvement over prophecies.

Most of my issues with GWF thus far have stemmed from the shortcomings with Alliance Features. Ever since I've purchased and played the game, I haven't had a chance to see how well the skills are balanced PvP wise, so I can't really comment on that.
But regarding everything else, I just have to give my compliments to ANET. I am completely enjoying my PvE time through Factions right now. I'm stoked they beefed up PvE...it makes it much more appealing and the fact that they added Titles, it give me (a PvP Junkie) incentive to actually try to obtain some PvE Titles. Not to mention that the new PvE Environments are gorgeous, the character skins/models are to my liking, and the new Armors actually are soo nice that I'm actually considering farming for the first time BTW, I can no longer play PvE without my Mini Charr Shamen, lol!

the trouble with factions is that all the mobs are virtually the same mixture of enemy classes, i went through the whole game with the same skillset, theres absolutely no variety in the gameplay

And for the success, ANET is going to have to compare all those that they "disappointed", along with all those that they won over. If they have won over more people in CH2 than they disappointed, then success. If they haven't, well then...

how can you complain about this??? The game just came out, they havent been able to get all the bugs out yet. This isnt WoW when you pay and they fix it right away. You should be happy there is no monthly fee. Dont expect them to be at your command for everything you dont like about the game because they are worknig as hard as they can and you keep whippin them in the back for no money at all when they do all they can in their power. Enjoy the game dont complain about it.
And most of all, Dont care about what others get or do, thats like a first grade lesson people.

I think they did a good job of fixing some of the MINOR issues with the original, added a bit of salt and pepper, and they are gonna let it simmer.
I am having fun; sorry some of you are not.
