Easter Eggs
lyra_song
Since theres an easter egg thread in the Tyrian forum, the canthan forum should have one too, since i think we should keep the easter eggs for each expansion seperate. As to no cause confusion >.>;
heres mine:
Yuun the Quickshot henchman.
I believe he is a reference to Yun from the Street Fighter series because of that skateboard quote.

Kakumei
The More Cowbell quest, as a reference to a Saturdary Night Live skit about Blue Oyster Cult.

I could swear I've seen a Crimson Skull Ritualist play the air-guitar once... Didn't take a screenshot though. ><

I've seen that 2, as well as a Crimson boss dancing and his mob playing instruments for him. It totally freaked me out. The weird part is that he was an ele boss, yet doing a Tank dance! I'll have to go back there and get a screenie of him doing this.

The Path Not Taken quest is a poem by Robert Frost.
Kaguya
Emperor Kisu starts /dancing as well if you wait a while at Divine Path (or whatever the endgame place was)

I saw that too. It was on the west side of Shing Jea island, in the frosty mountainous part. Ran in there with my rit and henchs, and got owned by him.

one of the "healers" near the marketplace is named "Jung the healer" or something like that. that is of course in reference to the psychologist Carl Jung ;x
Zinger314
The Beak of Darkness (Kurzick quest) = The Heart of Darkness
Calador Alaster
Everytime Quickshot Henchman engages enemies, he always say "Headshot!" or "I think your just afraid of the...headshot!" or "Try hit me, try!". A reference to doug in Pure Pwnage.
Seef II
Not an easter egg, but an Am Fah boss in the Undercity has female Canthan Peasants doing the elementalist dance for him.
Someone else... elsewhere mentioned Kupah Beach, a location mentioned en passant in a quest. On Kupah Beach there are turtles. Let's-a-go, Mario!

I've noticed the guy you protect during the Luxon challenge mission dancing while you wait for the mission to start. Dancing NPC's seems to be a new thing
VGJustice
travis.cd
what about the quests Revenge of the Yeti (Sith) and Return of the Yeti (Jedi) references (starwars)..

Guess this will be a factions thread of interesting tidbits rather then any easter eggs.

There's another easter egg type of quest offered after the gyala hatchery that is an obvious reference to the movie 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou'
Good for a lot of laughs if you've ever seen the movie.
I'll try to get some of my screen caps of the conversations from the quest up in the next day or two.

I noticed that one too. I think it's called the 'Zeno Crew' or something like that. It even references the annoying wife who will only help him if it's his last mission. That movie rules...

Cantha still requires more exploration before we find something really hidden.

I dunno if this counts, but I found a "hidden" quest in Haigu Lagoon. You go to the village there and listen to him tell his story about a Bog Monster or something that takes 2-5 minutes to tell. After this he asks you to kill it.
Just thought Id pass this on, as the first few times walking past him I didnt feel like listening

actually, like many of the duplicate Factions skills (Teinai's Heat, Karei's Healing Circle, etc.), it's named after one of the legendary Canthan heroes whose spirits you free during the Tahnnakai Temple mission
Sereng Amaranth
From the SciFi series 'Farscape'...
D'argo is from the Luxan race. And the main character is named Crichton (pronounced Krytan).

The Boreas Seabed mission makes a Gladiator allusion "We who are about to die salute you" but instead they say something slightly different. x.x

That's because that's an incredible stretch and is most likely a coincidence.
D'Arcangelo
The Red Frog(quest) is a south park reference, iirc.
Drunken Master quest could be a reference to Jade Empire's Drunken Style fighting(but this could be true of many other things as well).
my memory's a little fuzzy but the quest "Street Justice" was in GrandTheftAuto: San Andreas.
Quest: The Missing Link.. can be a reference to the missing link in the scientific exploration of human evolution.
Its all i could think of. :P

Re: drunken master
One of Jackie Chan's first movies was Drunken Master in which he trains in the "Eight Drunken Gods" style of kung fu.

I'd sign a petition to change Yuun [Quickshot Henchman] to Yuun [Headshot Henchman]
Boom Headshot!
