I have a toon with Legendary Survivor. I will post screen shot of it later.
This is how I got it.
I bought Eye of the North and completed it with my main toon giving me access to hard mode.
I then started a new toon in Tyria. I took the quest "Charr at the Gate" from the Prince in Ascalon. I went outside and watched as the Prince killed 3 of the 4 charr. I then mapped back to Ascalon and ran back out to kill the charr again.
I did this for 10 hours. That gave me lvl 10 and then I went to post.
I gave a shout out to my guild for a run to LA. From LA I got run to BOREALS STATION which is the first place in eye of the north.
I went to the merchant and got the 300 gold scroll and clicked on hard mode. From there I went and killed the snow wurms. After som
e modification of my build I was able to kill 10 snow wurms in 3 minutes at almost 700xp per kill.
That is 140,000 xp per hour. It is grinding but you get lockpicks and chests and golds and goodies. You can earn enough gold per run to keep you in scrolls.
So you should be able to get the maxed title in a weekend.
Oh by the way, Snow Wurms deal FIRE damage. So take a shield with the sleep now in the fire mod and use a fire weapon. If you are just about to die.. just take a step or two back.
Tip: In hard mode DO NOT EVER try and kill the OAKS at the bottom of the hill. They will kill you before you can map out. I learned this the hard way.

It's not hard to do once you get the first one. Easily done without farming...just quests, missions, elite skills, don't skimp on armor and...when all else fails...let dunkoro die in your place. My very favorite-est title...
RedNova88
Kudos and congrats Azul. Same for anyone that did the title the real way.
The title's really not all that hard once you get max armor, then you can go back and do all the quests and missions, just be cautious, and DON'T PuG. Just avoid the end areas of NF/Factions/Prophecies to be safe. I almost lost my title a few times due to massive spikes out of nowhere in those areas.
EDIT: Ok one more word of advice... Avoid Rit bosses! Or at the very least carry +armor vs lightning!

I am working on a sin survivor (I heard that is the hardest prof to get it on?) and ive reached 475K experience so far without much trouble, just questing and capping an elite here and there. (IMO this is a title which shouldnt be farmed)
Its easy with sin if you have 2 other melee guys in your party. If you aggro a group and move back to the rear of your party while your melee hench/heroes charge home, the enemies will stop targeting you nearly instantly, leaving you free to charge back at them and ram your daggers in them without much risk

Just around 600k right now on my Para.
Been capping like crazy.
I Wiki all the bosses in a certain zone, then go cap a skill, warp change my secondary profession go cap another one, and so on.
Repeat that process over a few zones and you'll start leveling pretty quickly.
I recommend capping in Night fall, lots of bosses, some pretty easy caps if you're already lvl 20... And there is a lot of zones with in a small area of game play.
Not to mention, unlocking the command center gets you a lot of exp and its an easy and safe way to change your secondary. Just... Not exactly cheap.
Wish me luck in the second half of my journey.
And good luck to all else.

Took me 4 hrs. to take my sin from creation to LS using the keg farming method. In HM you'll get 36k per run with scrolls (600 epx * 60 foes = 36 000 exp).
Takes about 30-40 runs, depends on how much exp you have before farming

yes, what's the keg farming method?
also if you lose while brawling, that doesn't count as a "death"?
i haven't played GW in months but I'm an old vet...when i stopped playing, i was reaching for the LS title with my para (somewhere between 400-500k atm...i'm using the HM jade brotherhood farming method.)
if you grind for the title yourself, regardless if you use a farming method or do it the old fashioned way, i believe the title is truly credible. if you have other people do everything for you, leech, etc. then that's just lame.

I just bugged nam over of a PM on the keg thingy - but I think this might be it:
From this thread:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10334201
If you do not GET UP IN TIME your death count increases.
If you are K.O-ed but manage to get in in the time give - you are fine.
Quote:
It's pretty simple
Use a standard perma shadow set up and exit sifhalla in to drakkar lake. Give Budger Blackpowder 100g to follow you and lead him south then east through Norrhart and Bjora (cause if you go back through sifhalla you will lose him) into the vaettirs in Jaga Moraine. gather a bunch of vaettirs together, grab powderkegs from Budger and drop them as fast as you can. Boom - exploding vaeter all over the place. exit to Bajor and then back to Jaga to reset the vaettirs and do it again until your pack is full of golds and tots (don't bother with whites, blues or purples cause you will get a ton of golds and don't want to have to jump back to town to sell junk and make that long run again) Some things to make it easier: 1: run skills, obviously, to make the trip faster. 2: drunkenness + dwarven stability to keep from getting knocked down if you get too close to the modnirs or avalanches on the way 3: ebon escape so that if the vaetirrs happen to box you in (which tends to happen with holiday lag) you can jump to Budger 4: a book to read or music to listen to cause, man, does it get boring after a while. |

Thank you upier for posting the answer for me, my connection was down whole yesterday.
the keg farming method is VERY fast, but also very risky. 1 death and its over.
I suggest that if you dc a lot, lag a lot, dont try it

Didn't expect to find this thread on the first page of the Community Works, I forgot I even made this.
I haven't updated this thread because I haven't played Guild Wars in a while. Started a couple of days ago, and I'm going for Legendary Survivor on my new Monk.
I'll try to put some time in this thread. It would be nice if someone could provide some information about getting this title in Eye of the North, as I don't have it (yet).

Brawn Over Brains
Another very good tip is in EotN, Kilroy Stonekin's Dungeon quest is nice and quick for 10-20 and you don't technically die in his dungeon, so it works out.
MercenaryKnight
Just so noone reads brawn's statement and doesn't care about dying in the stonekin dungeon. You will receive a death if you get knocked down and fail to get up in time. They call it a K.O. but you still receive a death. So be careful if you do the punchout quest over and over.
Maxiemonster
Changed the guide to pretty much a "Kilroy Stonekin's Punch-Out Extravaganza!" guide as I believe most people on these boards have Eye of the North and this by far the best option when going for Survivor. Even though lag could still get you killed, that goes for pretty much any other method as well.
If you don't have Eye of the North, you should really go and buy it, with prices like the ones I've been seeing it's practically a steal!
( I have noticed a drasticly increased ping when I came back to Guild Wars after over a year. Has it been this bad for a long time, or is it most likely temporarily? )

The wurms outside of Boreal Station.
They are melee BUT stationary. You can degen them to death easily or bomb them with things like Wastrel's Worry or spirits. It might not be insanely fast - but it's probably the safest thing for people with lag. The drops aren't half bad AND you get to advance your Norn title.
A lot of win there!
Maxiemonster
After losing my Indomitable Survivor to a lag spike while boxing I decided to restart. After about 20 hours of boxing later I'm finally Legendary Survivor, and even earned 100K during the process. I guess boxing isn't the safest way there is, but the money made it all worthwhile.
Good luck to the rest of you!

On my monk, I usually offer to heal people for XP in return. It works great on missions and quests.

A good way I've found to get this is to (Once ascended) repeatedly do the first UW quest. Clearing the chamber of Grasps is ridiculously easy, and as long as you watch the Aataxes you're fine.
The two issues here are cost and finding a team that's willing to help. Frankly though, an alliance or guild will usually have people willing, since they could then seven-man the rest of the UW with no problem.

Yeah, but Boxing gets boring after like five minutes. I'll try this, thanks. I'm actually doing a survivor group with people from my alliance
Wait.. Why do the Wurms deal fire damage? 0.o That's like the Great Destroyer not being immune to burning (Which he isn't.)

LoL you dont have to make the title in 1 day . 20mins of Fronis per day and there u go , safe title , easy and not boring because u share playing time with other chars.

I'm currently working on Survivor on my Mesmer, and I'm R2.
When I'm not working on missions, quests and capping but in the mood to work on my experience I just do the Punchout. but I'm not fully relying on the dungeon to complete title.
It's my first survivor, and very first toon to reach R1 and R2 survivor. I'm doing this title to prove to myself that I can achieve such a title, due to my many deaths on each character. I'm not great at surviving, but it's all going to change after R3.

this is just MY opinion but i thing the easyest way and safest way to get this title is to get you chart to lvl 20 doing killroy THEN do the charr mission so you get accsess to Watch It Jiggle Quest wich you need to do Ooze Pit from there you stop playing your Servivor hunter and play a diffrent char and keep doing Ooze Pit over and over farming the Prismatic Gelatinous Material wich you then pass onto your servivor giving you 5,000 exp per Prismatic Gelatinous Materia
R1-R2 = 90 Ooze Pit runs
R2-R3 = 150 Ooze Pit runs
it looks alot but its safe as if you have lag problems (wich is common thease days) then you dont risk your survivor getting killed

im on about 220k on my 600,fronis is pretty good but d/c and lag could be risky so im playing mostly undead in bergen, about 10k exp in 10-15mins average without scrolls.

Made 2 legendary survivors so far - the first one as Spirit Spammer Ritualist and the second one as Mesmer created in Nightfall. The ritualist was made with the help of Kilroy after I reached lvl 20 and didn't want to burden my guildmates with someone who might leave. It was somewhat expensive with all these lightbringer scrolls, but finished within a week. The dungeon was quite boring.
Then I decided to do it again with my newly created Mesmer the old way: just playing the game, capture every elite I find, avoid dangerous situations.
- I always played alone with H/H
- I bought the best armor and the best runes/insignia
- I never did play in hard mode
- I took a taxi to consulate docks and from there to LA to get access to the quest that gives you Olias. I skilled Olias as Minion master.
- upon reaching level 10, I started to EOTN and got Vekk and Ogden. With these two and Olias, I went to the Eye Of the North and got Gwen.
- Then I played through Nightfall including the last mission.
- I chose Master of Whispers and Acolyte Jin as heros. I skilled Master of Whispers as SS necro (in fact, Olias and Master were the MM/SS part of an older sabway build where the heros were still sort of stand-alone, not the modern versions where you cannot use one hero without the others). Dunkoro as 3rd hero was the healer.
- I skipped Dasha Vestibule.
- Playing though NF brought me to lvl 2 survivor or somewhat further
- Then I started capture elite skills in the low-level areas of Nightfall and made all of the Factions quests in Bukdek Byway, Wajun Bazar and in that area.
- I also did all of the Factions missions but left out Shiro at the end (don't even try to get rushed)
I simply played the game and was somewhat careful. But I attacked normally and fought normally. Normal build, no self-heal. Hero healers are fantastic. I left via ALT-F4 for only one time (Drakkar lake, when Koren Wildrunner suddenly joined a big fight with many Chilling Wisps). I got my last XP from Koris Deeprunner by giving him the 4 map pieces.

Just take your time and play normally, you should be able to make it easily ish. Working on my 7th Legendary Survivor. Getting that 1,337,500 exp takes me protector on every continent and sh*t load of quests. On my Rt, who's up to 1,250,xxx exp, I've done every quest in Cantha and Tyria and a good bunch in Elona. Haven't been to EotN yet, as I generally try to avoid it (not that fond of it..).
I only cap elites from my primary profession unless there's something that's actually useful. Depending on profession, the title has taken me approximately 90 to 130 hours each.
I do it the good ol' way because I can't come up with anything else in GWs anymore and don't care about titles.

Here's my Survivor Title so far. I started in Elona, grabbed the heroes and worked my way through the quests and most missions with help from guildies. Now I am in Cantha working on the quests around Kaineng Center. Hope this helps

I've done all my survivors without kilroy and it was quite some fun. (I tend to lag and then heroes are your best friends since they don't know lag at all)
my ways:
H/H everything, never forget books from the campain and aurgery rock before napui and the hunted
FoW-whoring (req atleast 1 helpfull friend) 100k xp a run atleast)
VQ till you drop
and dumdumdum the most original one,
just playing the game worked the best for me, and reading other opinions about Kilroy, I think just playing the game isn't the worst advise. ^^
Also don't push yourself, you want the title but don't spend weeks playing just that char if you can't stand that in the first place. Always remember your goal:

If you dont care which class has the survivor, then Ele has gotta be one of the easiest do to,
Have guild mates run you threw the game to Eye of north, then on up to gunners hold then Long Eyes Ledge, get the skill set/armor and weapon for the Vaettir Farm, ( aslong as you have completed EOTN at least once, you can use HM ) get up to there use Triple xp Scroll, wham 54,000 xp in 4 minutes, you could max out survivor in about an hour and a half.

a friend did the same with kegfarming (like a year ago) he got in in about that time, amazingly easy and fast (lag is once again your worst enemy.)
works for Assassin too (build on pvx, with smites or wastres demise, might work for primary mesmers and monks too)

Funny thing - r1 survivor in Nightfall tutorial. How?
Wracks
I know this a bit expensive and complicated, but I feel that the safest way to get survivor(and faster):
Buy 174-178 Kath Hammers(a bit expensive, but you get the reward for every hammer you give in, which totals up to paying only about 80k for the title, not bad as buying LB scrolls to max you title)
Get a ferry from NF to LA(assuming you created a NF char), go to seaboard, rank 1-10 doing the exp glitch(Go to an empty Euro/Asian dis, go near the gate and get exp from the first wave and switch dis and do the same thing again)
Get a run to Eotn>Doomslore, then get a run to Cathacombs of Kath dungeon, then zone out back in to Sacnoth Valley, talk to the guy, give in all the hammer reward, you can max it within 2hrs max
Another safer way is doing Skele Farm for Halloween(which many abused during this year and I am positive they will nerf it for next halloween). Get mobstoppers from the npc quest giver, store it in storage, and redo it until u have enough, cap the skeles, place it in storage and turn in for the quest reward on the surv. title

Did this on my alt account (for HoM calculator). Any time I wasn't actively playing this character, I logged out an onto another character. All of this was done by actually fighting. If you'll look closely, you can see "Spectral Vaettir drops..." Not saying this is the fastest way, but I wanted to get this without the Kilroy method (that's how I got my first one and it was quite boring).
1) Create sin in Cantha
2) Fight carefully through to Kaening Center
3) Get from KC to EoTN and to longeyes
4) Dwarven Boxing to lvl 20
5) Vaettir farm until Max Survivor

My first I did punchout. Didnt use scrolls much, only ones I got as drops and bought a lb once... imo it wasnt worth it, I'm weird, I just farmed it basically.
Now though I'm starting a mesmer in Prophecies and I'm going to do it the good old fashioned way- do all the quests, kill stuff that gives me exp, etc. No runs, just quests and missions.
