When you get the title, and you die afterwards, do get to keep the title you already learn and only lose a chance of getting another lvl of Survivor? Or you simply lose all the Survivor titles like you never had it? :x
'Cos 1 guy told you can't, while another guy whined about him losing it? :S
This is mine tho, still rolling and with some of God's help and guildies I might get to last lvl of it.

I'm curious about a possible mini exploit with the title.
Say for instance, i'm outside of Droks and I know i'm going to die, so instead of dying I map back into town. I narrowly zone before I die, and thus don't die. So anyone wanting the title (theoretically speaking) could just map out of danger if they were about to die.
Would it work like this? If not, i'd love to hear an explanation as to why it wouldn't.

My new ranger is up to around 315k and to raisu palace without dying, I just recommend capping elites and doing as many quests as possible. Also know your locale and what to bring to be survivable. I've had to risk death a few times to finish missions but its a fun challenge. Kinda reminds me of poker in that you have to know when your doomed and when you can finish. I usually just go out with henches and control them since its easy and usually you can just throw up a scroll if you want. Anyways if I get lvl 2 I'll post it, but lvl 1 is way too easy to get imo. Good luck to all though, just be fair to the respective parties you join

My Necro/Ele got 380k xp when she died the first time...
that was terrible ~~
Edit: Tyria Char (Cantha is just too easy with all these 3k quests)

To Crazy: the Kaineng part is not hard at all. Indeed, you're not lvl 20 when you get there, however if the first quest you complete is the quest to befriend the Am Fah, then you'll be able to complete enough quests to get to lvl 20 without fighting a single monster (well... just a few).

...so why don't you do it... ? :x

You can also go to your guild hall, make a battle against 8 Necros let them stay around u and sacrifice themselves, then u should get easy ep, as a non farming class...

lol it sounds like a sacrificial ritual.

Think of all of those monastery credits that you accumulate from all of the restarting I have almost 150.

If I wanted to get a Legendary Survivor title, I'd just start a new character and do a little bit at time by farming managable enemies that will still give me XP. I wouldn't expect the title soon. I've had my Ranger character for over 50 days and still don't have a million XP yet. I would use those rampager scrolls for extra XP a lot, that would help. It would be a side character I'd work on every now and then. Then when it has a Legendary title, then maybe I'd do other stuff with it since a death won't take the title away.
Of course Arenanet may change it so any character out there can get the title, making it the amount of XP gained since the last death. I do hope they do that.

Does it just reset itself when you die? Or are you not eligable to get it after you die?

From Ascalon, I got a run to Yaks, then to Beacons. It was a little annoying because another person who was getting run would wander off and aggro enemies. Once he brought them back and I was about to rezone, when the runner made it to the next area.
From Beacons to Lions Arch, this is the tricky one. The portal that takes you to the first area of Kryta, I think its that or the second one, is where there are Mergoyles immediately. I had the runner and another kill them off to keep me safe. The runner got me to Lions Arch without me getting killed and I gave him an Ecto. I also gave 1.5k to the level 11 tank who fought off enemies to keep me alive. I was already ready to rezone, taking every precaution.
Now that I was in Lions Arch, I took the boat to Cantha for max armor with storage money. I was level 11 by then I think.
To farm experience points, I assemble a full hench team. The healer and protector, both fighters, the assassin, and whoever else. Usually an Elementalist and Necro. I have the team fight groups of Brotherhood Jade VERY carefully.
My character is a ranger/monk, my favorite. I equip a rod and holy item whatever it is so that my energy is 42. I ALWAY have Mending on me the whole time. I have troll ungent and that one enchantment I forgot what its called. It's where for 8 seconds damage dealt to you is reduced.
I take the henchies to a group and activate troll unguent. Then the enchantment immediately. Then aggro an enemy, preferably a knight, and run back and have the henchies fight them. I use Heal Party to help them stay alive some and so that I get xp from the enemies they kill. Sometimes I'll throw in that Smite signet thing that doesn't cost energy to cast. Using the protective enchantment I mentioned of course.
I have full armor of course and a major vigor rune(superior would be better but so expensive). I haven't had any danger of dying. If my health is decreased by about 25%, I prepare to close the GW window to completely shut off the game. If my health is cut by a third, I do that. To map back to town isn't fast enough. You could die by the time you click the mouse to confirm travel back to town. Just close the program and relog back in.
With full max armor and Mending, I'm not aware of any attack a Jade Brotherhood can do that would kill in one hit. Even the bosses. So being prepared to close the GW program is pretty much a surety of your safety.
And just do this over and over again. That Purifier boss will be fine. But the next level 24 boss I wouldn't recomend aggro-ing. This is the Byway exit from Kaineng Center. It's gonna take an awfully long time. With a full hench party, defeating each level 20 enemy will give you like 29xp I think when you're at level 12. You can use those insight scrolls to get more experience points.
It may not be as fast as farming trolls at Droks, but it's important to stay alive. With this method, I seem to get 1,000 experience points in 15 minutes. Well let's say I get 3,000 xp per hour. Not sure what the average will be. Ten hours to get 30,000, depending on how much xp you get when you're at level 20. A hundred hours of game time to get 300,000 xp. Times that by five, just to afford a bit more time til the final survivor title, and you're looking at 500 hours of game time. Let's say about twenty days worth. Maybe faster with insight scrolls. Obviously this won't be my new hobby. I'll just work on this every now and then and won't expect the title for a long time. I'm not even sure if I'll keep the decision to continue this.
I won't do any missions until I get the final title, if that ever happens. I know this won't be considered being a "survivor" or deserving or whatever by people who may be jealous of not having the title. Just like people may say "minipets are useless" but if they had one, they'd be showing if off to new gamers in early missions. But someone's gotta do it, just like getting level 20 in presearing. And this is a sure bet.
Linksys
I typed a full explanation of a sure method of getting the final survivor title. But I'm paranoid and afraid A-net will read it and nerf it. Sorry. :-(
Spook_Cell
Just finished getting survivor level 3 on my ritualist, basically the easiest way is to cap as many elites as you can and use cheap xp scroll when you're going to be in an EA for a long time.
You can exchange 1 Monastery Token for 1 Scoll of Adventurer's Insight (+50% xp for 10 mins) on the starting island. Also if you farm bosses a lot for greens with other chars you should accumulate a decent stack of various rare and plain scroll to use as you go along.
No matter how much you don't want to do it you'll eventually have to do some missions either with pugs but preferably with friends or guild members. Use defensive build because you have to play as if you can't rely on anyone else (which you can't ). If you're a casters it's a lot easier because you can stay away from trouble a bit more.
Do go to Tyria if you have bought Prophecies, each mission gives 1-2k xp and an easy skill point. It's very hard to die in any of the missions before the desert and the desert ones aren't that much harder. Ascending will give you a nice 50k so do ascend.
You will have to do Dragon's Lair if you're doing the elite skill capture way because you will run out of caps if you don't. No need to do any of the South Shiverpeaks missions, just cap some skills. I only needed to cap maybe 10-15 skills from Tyria and didn't go any further than Snakedance and Witman's Folly.
Oh and a bit of luck doesn't hurt.

I managed to get the survivor title with my Rt...and then died the next time out of town...oh well lol.
And just to clear up any confusion that there still seems to be, you do not lose the survivor title when you die the first time after gaining it. You are just no longer eligible to progress to the next level on the track.
Also, the track will not appear on an old character if you just haven't died in a really long time. Nor will it appear if you gain 140k XP w/o dying if you have died at some earlier point.
For the 1st level of the title you have to go from character creation to lvl 20 with 0 deaths.

So I deleted the character and restarted in Cantha Lvl 14 and no deaths as of today. Unfortunatley people in the desert have it out for me. Decided to try to ascend for easy 50000 exp and after i mentioned i was going for survivor during a run, a necro aggroed a HUGE group of enemies and ran straight towards me I had to zone in, apologize to the runner and pay him a lil extra What a mess

Still progressing on my Survivor title, and working through the Tyrian missions.
If I start in Cantha, and do all of the quests before the first mission, I'll be lvl 12 starting it , maybe lvl 13+ with some exp farming at low levels.
By the time I get to the second mission I'm around lvl 17/18. Normally the only quest I haven't done at this point is Last Stand.

Just hit lvl 18 with my n/mo (125K XP). I think it is really nice to play this way; it adds excitment.
Some suggestions for people who want to try this too; I only tried with a necro (because I wanted a necro anyway), so I am by no means trying to state that this is the way to go. Just my observations...
It is easy to do with a minion master, because they tank for you and if you unfortunately grab aggro and cannot loose it you just "taste your minion" for a quick heal and if really necessary zone out.
I did all with henchies because I do not want to let a party down if I need to zone.
I did all quests on the starter island except the lost boy and the second attribute quest. They were to tricky to do with henchies for me.
Now on mainland Cantha it is really easy to get my title, because of the fed-ex type quests. Especially if you take the quests with the Am Fah and do not finish this one: the Am Fah will be your friend so easy walking around.
Have fun!

Started my ranger last Wednesday and currently i am at 1.024 mil exp. Only about 300k exp away from my legendary title!!!!! The fastest way to lvl is to cap skills, and right now i have capped 82 elite skills, just ran out of skill pts. A good advice for ppl who trying to do mission: START UR OWN GROUP and recruit the professions u need and hide ur title in town because there are alot of ppl out there who will try to ruin ur title. Also hire helpers/runner for mission where u most likely to die i.e THK, Arbostone, unwaking (i paid 75k for each btw).
The best place for power lvl is trolls outside droks especially for ranger. I usually hire a war/mo to tank the entire cave for me (including the 2 bosses which u have to agro towards him) and use barrage/EoE to help him kill. Make sure u have a running skill (pref storm chaser or run as one) with u just in case the tank goes down and u have to run from 20+ trolls. Gluing ur finger to ALT+F4 will also help :P.
If u need runners for certain area/mission, feel free to PM me in the game. However, be prepared to spend alot of money as they are very expensive.
