Guild Wars News: Bots Banned

im glad some1 posted this threat i got banned this weekend i was wondering like ervy1 else in my guild why ?? i asked npc soft that q
well got 1 reply that they wanted some info about my acount i gave them that info and waiting for there response i thought they acteuly coud chechk what people do with there cash i dont sell on ebay nor do i buy on ebay i have 3 acounts but all this put me off from playing since i put a lot of effort on titles 5 months ago i even goit hacked and lost my acount for 2 weeks thnx too a-net i got it back its kinda realy annoying that this happens again too me but i understand why a-net is banning bots too be honest its about time only thing is some innocents get burned along the proces but reading here makes me feel good that they can sort out whats wrng im waiting for there response now

Go send a letter to A.net and they will be happy enough to send you a response through email to the offenses you have.

i've been seeing a lot of these ele/mo bots farming random arena too.

they just stand there spamming HP and Aegis and Heal area and ether prodigy :/

yippie they said they banned me in error if this is the price too pay for banning bots its worth it they can chechk if they make error geuss nobady is perfect huh keep up the good work a-net and for people who got there acount banned wrongfully just send a mail too a-net with your offenses again gj a-net

You have to understand that alot of bans are going to happen accidentaly, we are only human after
all and im sure that the people working to reduce the number of bots and various other "illigal" acts
are trying there best to reduce the ammount of mistakes they can by checking all the information
they gather very carefully.

Mistakes can and do happen in all aspects of life, sometimes we just have to live with it and deal with it
as and when it happens & hope that better means of detecting these "problems" arise for the benefit of us all...

A guildie of mine also just had his account Banned from GW for engaging in Ebay Buying / Selling, I just hope those people don't cause trouble for ligit players by giving away free (in my opionion "tainted") goods

I would hate to have my account banned for unknowingly accepting freebies from a [email protected] like that.

I feel bad for those people when that happens, especially if they are a 1 time offender, but the people who use bots and are constantly buying / selling on ebay should know the risks they are running.

I say GJ A-Net, as in real life, if someone gets away with something once thay will just keep on doing it. If it was a 1 time offender I would still bann his/her account and let them buy a new account and have them start all over again so they can learn a lesson. If you steal a car even the 1st time you get punished for it right, you don't get off with a slap on the hand.

I think the same should go here, if you do something that is against the EULA then you should also be willing to take responsability for it. As for your first statement, that is hard. Especialy if it was a guildy that gave you something that might have been tainted, if you can't trust your guild members who can you trust. I personally only accept something from someone that I know very well and have played with for a long time already. Other than that I would pay for whatever I get but that might also be an implication.

But I am also sure that A-Net can have a look at this, and as we have all seen here is that A-Net does not have a deaf ear. They do investigate the accounts of ppl saying that they were wrongfully banned, if they made an error they reinstate.

I just got banned , and I don't use bots. HOWEVER I do have multiple accounts and in this househoild there is multiple people playing at the same time.

Also because of storage beeing to small I have 2 characters setup as storage character and every now and then I switch between them reasonably fast. Now I noticed sometimes you stay logged in under the other characters name if, if this is the behaviour they are looking for alot of people will have this.

I am just really ticked of right now as I really don't understand this, and I do believe they normally send a warning email of some kind etc and I got non of that I was just playing as usual......

And I know what people are already gonna say that I was doing this or that well sorry I wasn't and PlayNC nor Anet aren't responding so I guess I will have to fork out an other 120 euros for new copies and start over from the start .....

PS can anyone tell me what will happen to my guild and alliances now as I was the leader and according to my guildies I am still in there as leader etc so I guess my account still excists, I can even reset my password..........

Any feed back from anyone at this point would be helpfull.........as I am at a loss now...........

Not sure as to what may happen to your guild bud, only thing i can surmise is that you would have to appeal that but i do have this question. Is there a difference between the many leechers we see and bots? Bots are designed to farm areas by either killing set mobs or bosses, but basically performing certain actions as would a regualr players. Those who leech in say random arenas or even in factions (ie: fort aspenwood) do those fall under the "signet of Bannerdom?" Do players who leech as such fall under that category of bots?

If ArenaNet doesn't respond, send them another support ticket. Spam won't help, but if it's been a reasonable period of time (24 hours I think) and you haven't even got the automated reply yet, something got screwed up. Just hang in there; ArenaNet banned a lot of accounts in error, and they have been doing a good job of restoring them.

Yeah good job ANET. Keep on banning the farming bots and innocent people. Makes no difference to you I guess.

they did say they were reviewing and changing the flags so hopefully not repeat this.
