Like most people have mentioned its only in Random arena and the unfortunte thing about RA is the fact there is 80% chance you will have a crap team...whenever I see one touch ranger in a RA I allways switch over to my mesmer ASAP and try and take em down...proberlem being is most people don't listen to you in RA and doesn't matter how well you do it 80% of time you'll fail due to team work.
But there is anouther option Team arena now this is were I think there should be some counter or at least make a new Touch ranger NPC team in the PVP trainning area. Me and my team had the fortune to take on 4 Touch rangers...there are counters just use AoE spells diversion blackout etc...but my god it was a slaughter house =D
My suggestion is to put Touch rangers teams in the PvP trainning arenas so people can learn how to counter them properly...and please cut down on the "learn how to play" Bull we all know that you most likely play as a touch ranger and are trying to defend your build.
Complain or learn to counter?

Don't worry about it, It's the worst players that think only certain builds are good. Look at the Championship finalist teams, in the interviews they just about all said that each of their players have builds customised for them. The only thing I'd stay away from is trying to use just your secondary skills, with a couple exceptions that almost never works. I ran into a W/Mo the other day that was trying to be a healer smiter... why this does not work, No Runes, No Scalp Designs, No Divine Favor, Only 2 Regen... How he didn't see all that I don't know...

It's true any build can be counter'd but heres the problem.
If you set up your build against one element, lets say a mesmer thats anti-melee, and you meet an all caster team in any pvp (since you have no idea what the other team may be) the build is useless.
It only works when it meets something it can fight against.

One other thing. PVP is not PVE and they cannot be compaired. Neither is more difficult, they are just different. I laugh when I see "Touch Ranger LFG for Mission" especially in missions like Vizunah Square... Yea lets kill one of the dozens of monsters at a time ignoring the rest while they make interesting murals with my blood because I dont have the armor needed to tank...
And I know most the builds I use in PVE and are great builds there, would not do well at all in PVP. As I've said in other threads there are many new builds that will be better than what we have now, but people are too set in their ways to accept that. My Earth ELE does much better than my Nuker in Cantha. Slightly less damage but More deffence and I still haven't found a second 15 attribute quest for my Canthan Earth ele. (No I rarely if ever use game guids, what's the fun in just following instructions?)
I'm also expiramenting with a W/A build and a R/Rt Both show great promise.

I've played against quite a few touch rangers in Alliance Battles, and the easiest way I've found to counter them is with another ranger. Apply poison + cripple shot, distracting and savage any attempts to self heal with a troll unguent and I keep my distance. I can re-apply conditions faster than they can transfer them. If one gets to close, simply run away to gain some distance between the two of you. You Can use a Monk secondary to remove conditions if really needed.

There are instances where there are a drastically large number of builds that one build can defeat with ease and sparse few builds that can counter that build, but I leave it to A-net to decide whether or not to change the skills. When I turn on the game, I make a choice to participate in something with set rules. Complaining will not change those rules. If I don't like them, I can always play another game.

Has anyone tried using a W/N with Grentz Balance against TouchRanger?

Easy answer, learn to counter best you can and complain anyway. It's not your responsibility to learn to deal with every abusable, unbalenced build that comes along. That's A.Net's job, they get paid to bring in the nerf bat when nessesary. And with Touch Ranger's it's nessesary to a small degree.
I'd like to see my critics take that arguement apart...I agreed with both sides at the same time. Ha!
Note: I automatically disregard the opinion of anyone and everyone who say's "learn to play" or something of that sort. I consider anyone who says that sort of thing stupid, by their very nature. Some people who know how to play have a real issue with the validity of this build, outside of RA no less.

I don't see touch ranger getting the nerf anytime soon, they are not broken or overpowered, no matter how cheap and easy it is to use. It still has disadvantages (cripple, snaring hexes, e-denial) which make it fair to play. Though I am very resentful of builds that let you win by pressing 2 buttons back and forth.
