So how good is this build for soloing? That is, compared to 55 or any other monk build?
Also wondering if you could use a different primary, like say a Necro, hmm?

hmm, I'm contemplating a N/Mo build something like this:
SS
Reckless Haste
Mark of Pain
SB
Prot Spirit
Essence Bond
Balth Spirit
something else, but I'm not sure yet
Weapons to use would be a +5 energy weapon that does physical damage like the Totem Axe and a 20/20 curses offhand.
If I try this out, I'll post here with any success. I'm still hoping to find a good UW solo build...

But if you have an explanation for how you've gotten yours working, I'd appreciate a response. I don't want to answer for Ubermancer, but imho, as Bonetti allows to evade 75% of the hits, this gives for an example of 4 hits:
3/4 hits evaded = +15 energy
1/4 hits effective = -10 energy
so you get an extra +5 energy during bonetti's duration, which should be almost constant with balthazar's spirit on...
On the paper it seems possible, I just need to test it now in real environment!
Anyway, spiritual bond is really a godly skill, we're duo monking UW with a 1400 hp build and so far we've been able to manage bladed aatxes, coldfire nights, grasping darknesses, dying nightmares, smite crawlers, and terrorweb dryders on a same run...just having some problem with the obsidian behemoth, this damned nature's renewal spirit is more than annoying

Bonetti's gives you 5 energy per attack evaded not hit taken.
you also then have to add the +1 nrg from balthazars spirit.
so you then have +6 nrg.
I'll have to give this a shot today. Just wish i kept my pre-searing armor =(

Perhaps that does work, but I've done loads of field testing and the big problem with this build is that there isn't enough energy to use for the vital skills like Protective Spirit and such.
Also, this build, after extensive testing, is mainly a build for anti-melee enemies. This build is a godsend if you have like over 3 melee enemies attacking you at once. Problem is, this build...well...sucks against enemies with AoE, elements, and it's especially horrible against ranger enemies.
This build is MAINLY a replacement when the eventual 55monk nerf comes. It's not AS good or AS versitile as the 55 build, but it's rather nice on certain groups of enemies.

Hey guys
The key with this build, as you guys have noticed, is not the 600 health, but the lack of armor. When I called the topic "605 monk" I thought spirit bond would only trigger if you took 60 damage AFTER prot spirit. I was wrong, but the name stuck I guess :P
Anyways, the strengths I've found are:
-Cheap/nonexistant armor
-Doesn't get owned by degen
-You can use this build with only like 6-8 points in protection, and no other attributes.
You're pretty much free to choose a secondary(depending on what you want to farm) and put most of your attributes into other things. Hell. you can use whatever primary you want.
-Single-enchantment removal doesn't really affect you
-You can't really get overwhelmed by the amount of mobs
-Against many mobs it really only requires 3 skills: Protective spirit, spirit bond, and balth's spirit.
There are negative aspects, especially when compared to a 55 build:
-Many monsters are difficult to farm because they only wand you or just don't deal enough damage. You have to use frenzy or some other way to take more damage, and that may still not be enough.
-You have to recast spells pretty often, so watch out for interrupts or knockdown spam.
-If you're not getting hit by a lot of guys, the energy can be hard to manage.
I've been farming some trolls on my me/mo with this, using Spirit Bond, Protective Spirit, Balthazar's Spirit, Retribution, Zealots Fire, and Elemental Attunement ( to take more damage from certain mobs ) I don't have SoJ capped yet... to be honest I don't PVE much.

I just bought some Kurzick 15K and I'm pathetically poor right now...so I suppose when I get some more funds, I'll test the build in the UW.
And stop calling it the 605 build. Because for the build to work at it's best, according to the theory I put up, it's actually the 255HP build. 255HP means 455 with Vital Blessing and you need roughly 455 or lower to be able to never lose energy when SB activates.

here are some thoughts from a few runs i've been doing....
ya for the Grasping Darknesses i have no clue on how to beat them.... i want to try and use the bladed axes w/ the Grasphing because the blades can keep healing you but that's like's 50x getting interrupted. I also wanted to try going 55hp after killing the blades (you know swap armor). havn't tired that yet.
i found using "Plague Touch" helps kill the blades a tad faster w/ this setup (but ya not as fast as ss/sv and all that jazz). BUT anyway i can't get "Plague Sending" to work because i get interrupted to much. I'll try "Tainted Flesh" next just have to cap it w/ the monk. I also tired "Rotting Flesh".. not good .. not good at all.
It's strange but the blades never really interrupt my blessed signet. but then i start to cast SOJ or SS (yes i've done both versions) it's the only skill they interrupt in a heart beat. werid!
i'll post some SS of my runs just for the heck of it when i'm done at work.
for trolls... wow it's not fast but easy. dont' even need SOJ -)
Edit for pictures...

after..
Sorry thought i had one w/ pleg touch.. i'll run a few tonight and post it. but replace soj w/ pleg touch and your golden

Sorry thought i had one w/ pleg touch.. i'll run a few tonight and post it. but replace soj w/ pleg touch and your golden I've had an interesting idea... If they don't interrupt *all* elites, why not go Mo/E for the Spirit Bond build and use Starburst? It does a ton of dmg in an aoe, is almost impossible to interrupt (1/4 second touch animation), and only costs you 10e per cast (5e + another 5e if another target is struck. I believe that it's still 10e though for like 100 targets, hypothetically).

i really can't kill them... just because of my energy

besure to check the link to the OP. but ATM i'm at work, so i can't remember fully but all i did was max smite, adjust protection, then divne. I don't have the numbers in stone so sorry. when i get home i'll edit this post and put up what i've used.
as for troll. some of them raven staffs sell for 100g each. and when your getting 10+ that's 1k+. the troll tusk can be traded in at the collector and you make back 90g (right?). I like to run this now instead of 55hp/soj.
a good spot is them jade brother outside of "the market place" tons and tons of leather, cloth, steel. them miniors in that one misson? there's more just can't remember the names or locations. sorry.
the dieying nightmare shadow guys? i have found no [u]nice[/n] way to get around them. if i die there goes 1k down the drain. but i found that when you let it render your, get ready to cast Pro spirt, then regain, recast all enchamnts.... yes it takes forever but it's better then dieing.
as for a secondary? neco seems ok atm per my screen shots. i have to try the suggeion bloodied blade gave.

A few things:
1) ONLY wear Legs, and Boots, and if you HAVE TO go for the headgear. Legs and boots because they give the energy regen, and headgear if you need the attribute. Theres NO REASON AT ALL to wear armor on the rest of your body, and it could be the difference between triggering SB and not.
2) This isn't as effective at the trolls. Not that its any harder or anything to kill them, its the same, its because of the Bird things. If you have to aggro those bird enemies...you'll die 1/2 of the time, because their DualShot+Ignite Arrows goes under SB 90% of the time - and that equals death to you in just a few hits. Wasting a few slots for something Frenzy isn't a valid excuse to use this over 55.
