does it make u happy? its obvious that devs are doing smth, but honestly i dont want to know what they're doing - its their job and all i care is final product - a.k.a. properly updated GW. and i dont think that players should care about what devs are doing - as long as evrthing works... upgrading old armors shoudnt be a problem, it should be fixed immediately after release of ch2, it denies all common sence and shows great disrespect to old customers. if anet wants criticism instead of flaming - here it is. they obviously missed it and they keep forgetting about it or intentionally leaving it for some future updates... theres nothing wrong in discussing the problem and reminding them about it.
@Hawk - u're not playing ele i see, cos if u were u'd know that 10AR is a HUGE diff for ele - both in pve and pvp. and dont try to say that eles should stay behind - there are alot of diff ele builds, some of them can stay behind, some of them arent supposed to stay behind at all
and pray tell me why having less energy can be beneficial for mesmer in rogue armor....Rogues Armor (mesmer): it's been fixed as far as I can tell. The energy fix is NOT, however, retroactive. I.e. if you have on the old Rogue's, you'll not see a difference; you need to have 'new' Rogue's crafted to gain back the energy. That's not a problem unless you're either 1) too lazy to have it infused again (if staying in Tyria) or 2) have it all in 15K (that would be an expensive change).
My mesmer has the 15K Rogue's top (gotta love the snazzy corset
) and the rest Forge but frankly, the mere 3 energy that is missing is negligible. Right now she's wearing some pretty Canthan armor so she can do covert ops
.
My Tyrian ele only uses 'special' (read: elemental resistant) gloves and top with her plain jane leggings and boots. She has an alternative set for other areas where different protection may be needed. Further protection has never been needed (thus negating that an added +10 vs anything is vital). Why not an entire set, you ask? Ascetics. I can't stand the uber short nonsense of the cold-resist skirt or the squared-off geo skirt or the flimsy little aero skirt or the ducktail of the pyro skirt. The plain leggings are streamline and sharp looking. They also cost a mere 1.5K at Droknar's to craft and are easily replaceable if they become too soiled or shrink.
Fissure armor? Some of it is nice looking but since there's no gain except for vanity, why bother? And with that, there's no great rush for Anet to drop everything else they're doing and 'fix' armor. Besides, the baddest armor in the game isn't going to save your sorry ass if you don't have the skills or the knowledge to use them!

The old armor is just as good as it ever was, so I don't see how anyone is hurt. It will get updated to be equal to the new stuff when they finish making whatever changes they need to make to retroactively change equipment(I don't remember them ever retroactively changing stats on things before) and have tested it to make sure they don't accidentally retroactively break your older armor. I'm not seeing the problem here, except that they are too slow for the tastes of some people.
You knew what you were getting when you bought the armor, and what you got hasn't changed. Remaking expensive armor because it doesn't get upgraded to the new max instantly seems pretty silly to me. The stat differences are fairly minor, and the upgrade WILL happen. If I remember right, sometime in the next week or two was the most recent estimate provided.
Seriously, some people will make a huge deal out of anything.

I mean its sad that you lose the money and all due to anets slowness. But right now they need to fix a lot of things, while they're at it with the armors they might as well update the mods on the old greens. But back to the topic I honestly dont think this is high in their priority list and may not be done for awhile.

I have some of the old armor and i really dont care for how long it will take for the upgrade. Because i understand that there is more stuff to do and also that make changes in game is not just write /make old armor = to new (press enter)
If eventualy the upgrade never happens is also fine to me. i bought my pc a while ag0 (amd 3000) and now the 3800 is at the same price, should i go to the store and demand a upgrade because mine sucks now?????

I have been waiting for upgrade npc's for awhile now. It's overdue if you ask me. Anet managed to upgrade all overall profession skills and fix bugs for many times during past few weeks, but not the armor and weapon upgrade you can see yourself at http://www.guildwars.com/support/gameupdates/.
When it comes to upgrade npc's, its not in their priority. What the message telling me is that players are not that important. The correct word from anet is "You have to wait.. be patient.. working on it ..coming out soon." I can see its definitely not in their priority. "soon" is getting old and losing my trust over that matter. What is new in that area?

You bought a computer a while ago, then the computer company recalled all the computers that they sold at that time, re-released them with the same product name and number but with better parts in them for the same price. When you tried to return yours for the one with better parts, they said no, but included that you may do so at a later time... sometime. After waiting and waiting for the option to get yours upgraded you either decide to
A.) Sell your computer for half the amount it cost you when you bought it, so you can suffer the loss and get a better computer. Even if an upgrade option comes later, you don't have to wonder when.
B.) Keep sending them love letters and asking them when you'll be able to upgrade. Then keep getting told things like sometime, maybe, soon, summer, winter, next season. Only to realize you've been wasting your time, and could of made enough money to buy a new one while waiting.
C.) Do nothing because you simply don't give a crap, or weren't effected by the recall. Or, simply buy something that doesn't look like what you bought at all, and isn't as expensive (droks armor), but has the upgraded parts you're looking for, even though it doesn't look as good.
