First time I killed him I got Vera, now I'm not getting a darn thing.

I also made some little tweaks to the build to help me kill it faster:
6 insp
10 str
15 axe
9 tac
furious axe, executioners axe, eviscerate, balanced stance, elemental resistance, spirit shackles, heal signet, sprint
with glads armor, you dont eve need to heal when killing this boss, as you will be taking 4-6 dmg per hit.
im using a wing's axe and a arrahhsh's aegis to kill him
edit> im using glad set with ascalon helm with superior axe
edit: I think this can be run with only 6 tactics... heal signet is almost not used against the boss

After another 4 failed tries, I got another Vera.
I think I'll try your build in a little bit Jaibas.

Gladiator's with knight's boots. The extra energy helps when you're getting e-surged.

Nice video, you make it seem easy, but i was wondering what program you used to record.
And how much is Jaynes Staff worth?
And how much is Jaynes Staff worth?

I like having elemental resistance because it gives +8 armor against the doylak signet, besides you can have it all the time. the inly downside is the inability to use tiger stance to kill, but thats why theres more attack skills in the build I tweaked
enis bormu
I think the hardes part here is to lure only here cuz if she has a bad spawn you have start again.

And how much is Jaynes Staff worth? Just used fraps for the raw video. Then compressed with xvid and virtualdub.

jayne forest light is a boy even tho he has a typical girls name btw,
it was a running joke that, jayne from firely had a girls name.
so it would seem that the same is apprent here.

Killed Jayne 1-2x more today, both times he didn't drop a single thing. Flower Spiritgarden didn't seem to like to get pulled either so bleh.

if he/she/it (jayne) keeps running back when u got her alone.. then just take a couple hits and slowly, very very slowly step back... take some hits and continue... u got dolyak and healing sig if needed.
this might be slow but jayne won't break loose each time and run back to the mob and beats trying to pull her for a long time where she runs back each time.

My two cents (or whatever): use mantra of flame. You won't be taking that much damage anyways and +2 energy per hit comes in handy. And yes, its the pulling that makes me want to ax my computer. Damn I want that hammer.
Lady Of Tyria
ive heard that every time u kill the same boss, the chance of a green drops from him decreases. and i was wondering if that was true?
Ultimate Sacrifice
Yes it's true, take a break and do something else. After I farmed him a couple of times I like to PvP then go back.
jaibas17
spiritgarden can be farmed with the same build, you just have to wait till he gets a little away from where the wardens spawn

It's not true per se. I've had a boss drop nothing for 2 runs, then suddenly drop three things (including gold/blue scrolls), then drop crap whites for a few runs, and then drop greens three runs in a row. It's all kind of random. Here's the main thing I've noticed - if you tend to kill just one boss the whole time without killing anything else before rezoning, his drops get worse faster. However, if you kill mobs along the way, the anti-farming code does not kick in at all.
RebelHero
You can kill Flower Spirit garden with this build as well. Just pull him with his bow untill he is at the top of the ramp. Cast shackles and hack away. Once in a while he will get Preservation off... cast shackles on him and kill the spirit and continue with him.

I have a 2 man build for farming Vera now. If you can get a friend to help you, i think it actually takes less time. Requires one Rt/mes and a R/
Rt/Mes:
16 in Restoration
12 in Inspiration
Skills:
Vengeful Was Khanhei
Arcane Echo
Resilient Weapon
Vengeful Weapon
Soothing Memories
Mantra of Frost
Drain Enchantment
Spitit Shackles
Ranger:
16 Wildreness
13 Expertise
Skills:
Greater Conflaglaration
Winter
Quickening Zephyr
Serpents Quickness
Distracting Shot
*whatever*
*whatever*
*whatever*
Synopsis:
basically, i attempted to do it with just the Rt, by killing all the Kirin etc round the long way, but the wardens combination of interupts, ench removal, KD and earth magic meant it was near impossible to kill the wardens.
So, i decided that the best way to improve my effectiveness was to cut the recharge of Vengeful Was to 10 seconds, thereby having a constant effect. In addition the rangers combination of Conflag and Winter turns all physical and elemental damage to cold damage. This means that every attack does 45% less damage and gives 2 energy to the Rt with Mantra of Frost. This means that energy isnt a problem, and attacks by the wardens do not exceed 37 dmg, meaning that my health stays high.
I kill the wardens by running in, ehcoing Vengeful Was, and then spamming Spirit Shackles on their spellcasters when i can. Starting with the Rts, then Jayne, then the mesmers and so on. This effectively eliminates healing in their group, and then they simply wand themselves to death. The same applys with Jayne, you just simply spirit shackles the dude, and let him kill himself.
My first 3 times killing him he dropped very poor things. At least once he just dropped a rather poor Rt staff. On my forth run, each run taking maybe 15 mins at the most, he dropped Vera for me.
The disadvantage of this build is that you have to split the winnings. However, i think the run with the war can take at least twice as long to do, so in theory the way with the Rt is more economical with your time. This same Rt build can also take everything else in the area, with the exception of more than 2-3 Oni, and the Mesmer Boss just below Jayne. I have also been able to kill the assassin in the area without the rangers assistance. Further more this build will quickly cut through Dragon Roots and Kirin etc, so if Jayne doesnt drop the green at least your time wasnt completely wasted. It is possible to get to Jayne without aggroing any groups other than the wardens surrounding him, but i chose to kill them anyway

AH! this is getting on my nerves, i farmed her over 50 times, and all ive gotten was 2 staves, have they nerfed it or something? im just not getting anything.

I did this run about 10 times and got 2 vera's, one from the first run as well
now if only i could sell the thing

There's gotta be a better way. I've only managed to kill him twice after like twenty runs.
I'll buy your Vera's for 5k each LOL

Since once Spirit Shackles is on Jayne he will run out of energy (place spirit shackles and just sit back for a minute while he drains himself) then there is no healing. Therefore, I changed the build to fit with something that I find better suited to where I had a problem soloing him.
For one thing : Sprint and Balanced are both stances, they cancel each other out. Makes running through A PAIN. One tank warden gets too close and its lights out.
Charge (lasts 10 seconds) / Balanced Stance (lasts 18 seconds)/
Sever / Silverwing / Galrath /
Dolyak (lasts 15 seconds) / Heal Sig / Shackles (lasts 20 seconds)
I use dolyak to time when i should recast Shackles.
My tip : Time is of the essence, the longer you take to get to Jayne the more traps they put down and the further the mob spreads. Once you get there and you are healing yourself from the run (the front (yellow) way. I dont like the backway because it moves the mobs too close to where I beat him to death) watch where the ranger wardens are and where they are placing traps. Then I shoot an arrow into the closest bugger, let them come to me (without aggroing the mesmer) put balanced on 1 second before the first tank warden gets close, jog for a bit, then charge the rest of the way. There is a trick to making them break aggro early. As soon as they are going to attack or cast a spell use the running skill and run away from them. Thats the part I jog. That means get as much space between you, in every direction, and the closest guy and keep heading in that direction. By the time I am halfway through the little area most have given up the chase and jayne starts following. Once I get jaynes attention I let him wand me, and move back an inch, wand me, move back an inch. There is a limit to how far he will travel after that he just walks back. So get him somewhere that you wont aggro the other warden mob and the dragon roots (they should be far from where you are since you came the front way). If you do it too close and have dolyak on, you might aggro an unwanted creature since you cant scamper away. I die every now and then, a lot when i first started, but thats usually due to me trying to get there quicker and taking bigger chances. You can stop on the bridge between the mesmer and the first warden mob to recharge. Then just charge up the hill
Good luck to those still trying. Once you figure out the trick its not hard. I got me 2 hammers and 1 staff in 10 runs, probably due to the fact that I did it 10 times because I was learning and antifarming kicked in. Didnt drop anything after the 6th at all. 5th run I got a jade orb thing. Gave the 2nd hammer to a friend of mine who pvps and doesnt have time to farm.
Thanks for the spot/build! Ive wanted that hammer for a while now.

Calypso, you sir are a lucky man. And that's all this takes -- luck. I've done 25-30 runs on this and have not managed to kill Jayne a single f*cking time. Why? Every time he spawns in the back. Not "occasionally, not "rarely", almost every time. He has spawned in the middle twice for me in 25-30 runs. And even then I could not manage get his aggro to keep.
I've watched your video over 10 times thus far. I imitate your moves exactly, precisely as humanly possible. It doesn't work. If it works for you, it isn't skill, it's luck. Congratulations, you're one lucky mofo.

Krift, are you flaming me over your inability to do this run successfully?
Plenty of other people have used my build and strategy and modified it to their liking. So obviously it can't be just me and my dumb luck.

Sir Moak
I don't think it's just about luck. You wrote this guide as best as a man could, but still it takes a lot of practice and luck to get it right. I had several runs now and I only killed Jayne twice. One of those times I did it next to The Time Eater which is someting I shouldn't have been able to do.
Khift is right about luck, most of the time I had "bad" spawns and it was impossible to lure Jayne out, or I got ganked by the kirin mob. (They patrol almost up to Jaynes band and there's not much you can do if you're already running through them.)
Anyway it's still a nice guide, congratulations on thinking it up. I for one had it with the hero of Canton for tonight, but will try again soon.

hi guys, I'm bringing this one up just to check if anyone knows if recent updates have rended unfarmable the Jayne fella. Tried many times in the past days with no luck whatsoever (died a LOT of times and no drops when the one that dies is Forestlight).
