That is a guild to them, for example a Storm Bow is nothing more but a fancy skinned Longbow, they have the same stats and speed.
My fav Bow is my primary ingame bow for PvE and PvP. My Gold Half Moon Bow.

For PvE, Flatbow is the best to use. It has the fastest fire rate and longest range. However, because of in PvE, monterst just stand there and rarely move, the accuracy isn't important and can be improved by read the wind/FW.
For PvP, Recurve Bow is the best to use. Accuracy is the key, and all other stats are average but good enough to use.
Well, others bows are used too. People use all kinds of bows anyway.

All bows have different uses, most people dont understand that, infact most rangers dont even know theres a difference between bow types and choose bows by skin.
For PvE i like the longbow for range and low arc, for interrupts i take recurve or horn depending on the prep im using, even something like a flatbow for choking gas.
I always use a recurve for anything oathshot related.
The only bow type which ive never cared for is shortbow, may aswel be classed as a melee weapon the range is so poor.

MY ranger has 3 bows and one staff(for traps)
Poisonous Shadow Bow of Warding
Sundering Storm Bow of Enchanting
Silent Longbow of Fortitude,
Flints Fleshcleaver(staff)
My favorite skinned is the shadow bow, my favorite one to use is the shadow bow also, although i do use the long bow a lot for interrupts

I carry a Hornbow, Flatbow, Recurve bow and shortbow
Hornbow for the Armour penetrating.
Flatbow for pulling or to avoid obstruction (range is the same as a longbow and this one has better stats then any longbow I've found)
Recurve bow for general use (interupting mainly)
Shortbow when all else failed and the enemy has mistaken me for a tank.

For ranger spike, hornbow (plus longbow situationally) - damage is the key and 10% AP is extra damage. For PvP in general, recurve bow because of accuracy. You don't want to miss your oath and crip shots.
For PvE, I also prefer a recurve, but a longbow is useful for pulling. I don't have a flatbow because I don't like those and don't have a shortbow yet, but might get one eventually. My ranger is only a couple weeks old and I'm planning to buy some more stuff.
For skins, I have an amber longbow, a shadow bow (horn) and an eternal bow (recurve). I wanted a mursaat hornbow, but a perfect one is expensive as hell. So I'll probably keep my shadow bow for PvP and pick up a 13>50, or some other cheap mursaat horn for pve.

My favorite bow in my inventory is my Gold Fiery Eternal Bow of Fortitude. But I've got Green Longs, Recurves and Shorts as well. One each for all my needs...vampiric, poison, sundering, etc.
